TLC made a reported 186 million in the last quarter off their show. If my numbers are off someone can jump in to correct. suffice it to say TLC profited greatly!

These people live and act like hollywood actors.

Reality TV stars are like the stars from the 30's & 40's. They were paid very little, because the studios actually owned them, and made them sign contracts and paid them very little. Did anyone ever read Shirley Temple Autobiography. She made like $350 per movie and she was under contract for 5 years. When she was 12 years old, they wanted her to still act like she was 4. She said it was brutual. After 12, no one wanted anything to do with her anymore. She lost that cuteness. The studios made millions off her movies and she barely made anything, even though she was America's sweetheart.


Jon and Kate act as if they are hollywood actors, but the pay is so much less than regular actors and actresses. TLC took avantage of the whole family-Kate's convinced she is going to find stardom and so in Jon. But who knows, maybe they will or maybe they won't.

When Jon was on the Insider or Entertainment Tonight, they had Nene from Housewives of Atlanta as a host. They did a segment on reality actors pay and Nene didn't even know her salary was $30,000 an episode. Some of the characters from The Hills were paid over $100,000 per episode so some of these reality people do okay.

I think J & K were just so happy someone bought their idea for a show and signed their life away. The price you pay for fame!

Jon threw himself under the bus.

I think Kate did her fair share of saying negative things about Jon. I noticed on the directors board her interview was taped 10/20/09. Her voiceovers were ridiculous. The problem with the firestation scene was the kids didn't know what to do. TLC must of set it up before they severed the ties with Jon. Its amazing what a little editing will do to a story line. Its kind of like when Kate turns her tears on and off. :sad2

So when TLC shows Jon as a jerk, its because of editing but when they show Kate as a jerk, its because she is one? And why is it only Kate who "cashes in" on her kids? Didn't Jon sign up to do the show too? Didn't he appear on The Insider and other pap shows to talk/show his kids?

nope. they're both jerks.... and TLC is good at highlighting the worst in people. a match made in heaven.

I actually don't think they were paid enough by TLC either, assuming it's true last seasons rate was 22,500 total per episode. I think TLC took advantage of their dimness and willingness to be blinded by greed and fame. They sold the kids, and no amount would be enough, IMO.

I think they were getting an "official" paycheck of $22,500, but I bet there were getting a percentage of what TLC was making off advertisers too or something. Sort of like movie stars who get paid 2 million for doing a movie but also get a cut of the box office take. If we were ever to see the financials from the divorce I think we would be shocked.

I hope your right and they do get a percentage, however, I believe it was Jon who set up the initial contract so who knows what he agreed to. I thought everything was done without a lawyer so who knows. I just hope when the divorce is done and the lawyers have their hands out to get paid, I hope its not the kids money paying them. I know J & K say that money is safe, but they tricked the viewers before when they were going their seperate ways but acting married for the cameras. I still believe had Jon not got caught with the school teacher the charade would of continued.

Loved the article about the McCaugheys turning 12 in this week's People. Kind of dismisses many of Kates arguments for her behavior and her entitlement. They had eight kids in 18 months; two with special needs. They are just a large family, living their lives. No circus involved. The children are beautiful. Of course the magazine had to bring up the Gosselins in the article! "Fishbowl" was the word they used to describe their lives I believe.

Hailey Glassman Tells World Jon Gosselin Lied, Calls Him Ridiculous



He Tweeted that he was going to his "grandma's" for Thanksgiving but his girlfriend Hailey Glassman says he lied.

"LOL-U are in Utah snowboarding w/"friends"-lol-ur redic," Hailey shot back.

The Mount Joy Township Authority has placed a lien on an Elizabethtown home that Jon and Kate Gosselin used to live in and still own.

The lien is for an unpaid water tapping fee of $2,691.75, plus fees and interest.

The Gosselins bought the home, at 2190 Andrew Ave., in March 2006 for $280,000. They left it two years later, moving to a $1.12 million home in Wernersville, Berks County.

The Gosselins have not sold the five-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath brick Cape Cod home in Elizabethtown. It's on the market for $299,900.

The Gosselins starred in the reality TV show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which featured their twins, born in 2000, and sextuplets, born in 2004. The couple recently went through a public breakup, ending the show.

The unpaid fee is for a mandatory connection to public water lines for the house, which has a well, said Mount Joy Township Authority administrator Eric Metzler. The Gosselins have not paid the fee or been hooked up to those lines.

Metzler said the lien was placed because the Gosselins had received three or four notices that they needed to pay the fee but did not meet the mandatory deadline

I wonder if that is one of those bills that don't get forwarded when you move. I don't understand well water stuff. And being forced to connect to the lines, which they hadn't and have to pay even though they aren't connected. Weird. The joys of home ownership.

That's weird. I read he was concerned that he didn't get paid for exposing his children to pedophiles. I could be wrong, but it does sound like Jon's voice.

In a raw and sure-to-be controversial audio recording, Jon Gosselin rants against TLC and expresses disgust because "I put my kids out there to every pedophile on the planet and they never got paid for it."

The recording was obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com and includes Jon explaining that he began speaking freely in public because he thought TLC was afraid of him.

He accuses the network of taking money for deals with two magazines and is angry that they didn't share the wealth. It's clear that Jon believes his (supposed) knowledge of these deals means TLC will not stop him from talking - and making financial deals. He says "They haven't said (bleep)."

But by the time this recording was made several months ago it's clear that Jon will no longer be "Scare Tactic-ed" and he says if he reveals that the network took money for the magazine deals the network would take a big financial hit.

The recording comes at a key early point in Jon's battle with TLC and is a phone call with Michael Lohan, who worked various financial deals with Jon - deals that TLC says violated the exclusivity portion of Jon's contract.

Jon appears concerned about that clause early in the conversation, when he talks about evading photographers. But as he continues talking, Jon reveals that everyone knows he is now talking freely and makes it clear that he thinks he has TLC afraid to stop him.

It's pure Jon uncensored on the tape where he also dismisses his time with Kate Major and talks about how she complained he made her look bad. "You know like you know we hung out," he explains. "Still don't get it. (Bleep).

He also discloses that his relationship with Hailey Glassman began May 4th.
