Jon said that they set up the accounts and they could take from them if needed. Where did we find out that Kate did and only she could take money out?

I know in the Today interview (I'm almost positive that's the one!) that she said she set up the accounts. Now I don't think I said that she was the only one who could take money out (I could have!). I don't know that she'd put Jon on the account with things going so badly but I'm guessing she and another person are on the kid's accounts - maybe an attorney? I didn't watch the show (The Insider maybe) where Jon said they set up accounts and they could take money out....

the last post I read before heading to bed last night was #1006 .. on page 68. Has something else happened today, or is this 5 pages of chit chat?

At the very least it shows that Jon has very poor judgment in people. Hailey and Lohan are both going to take advantage of him in the end as well. Having said that, I do believe that he had his fun with Stephanie and Kate 2.

The problem is it also makes Jon less credible, true or not. Jon isn't going to confirm that he has in fact smoked pot in the middle of a divorce battle either, IMO. Given the people that Jon has been hanging around with, it isn't a stretch to think that he has engaged in such behavior. Often times we are judged by the company we keep. Which is why I wish he would completely cut off Hailey, Lohan and all others that tarnish his image even further.

One of the things I remember hearing Jon say (and not reading it in a magazine) was that he could talk to the media and they'd report what he said or he could keep quiet and they'd just make stuff up. I believe there's a certain amount of truth to that. Unfortunately, Jon's erratic (is that the word I want? ) statements and they people he's choosing to surround himself with are making him even less credible than if he'd shut up and let the tabloids report lies.

Not just rumors about Jon and women! One of the young mothers at the library (I volunteer with my dog at a pre-school program) swore yesterday that Kate is having an affair, but not with Steve. She claimed to have seen photographic evidence that Kate and her new baby sitter were an item.

No idea whether this is true or not, I'm just reporting what she said. I find it hard to care what either of the parents do these days, and I can't even remember the babysitter's name, so I'll leave it to better internet sleuths than I to track down if they want.

I saw some of the pictures (I think) that you're talking about.

It may be a stretch to call them photographic evidence, though. LOL.

Nothing would surprise me, anymore.

I just went back and found the link to Jon being on The Insider and stating that they can withdraw money from kids account:

Jon: 80% of our money is in a trust for them, like a revocable trust so WE can withdraw from it and they can have that money.

Interviewer: Do you think you may have to dip into that savings, that trust you got set aside for the kids?

Jon: Absolutely!

Who ever had those photographs would be able to cash in for a lot of money. I'm thinking if someone had them, they would have surfaced. It's always my brother's girlfriend's cousin's mom's sister in law that has this type of info...never the one telling about it, who could actually choose to show them.

the pictures were on the babysitter's Facebook page. the page was public until last week. I'd seen them before these rumors surfaced a couple of days ago. it's the babysitter's actual Facebook, too .. not a fakebook page.

Uh..so this person claims Kate is a lesbian and having an affair with her? Or is Kate's new sitter a guy? Or are you joking and I look foolish for not getting it?

there's just speculation, based only on the pictures, that there's more than meets the eye to their friendship.

We don't know that his mother wasn't there on the weekend -- we only know who was photographed there, or who was reported as being there eg. Jon's brother.

Heck! Kate's mother might have been there the day of the sleepover, but just because there is no photograph of her we can't assume she didn't drop over with some presents.

Don't you think it strange that they only in May set up a trust for the kids. I mean they kept saying that they were doing the show for the kids. If that were truly the case I think once they started to have a savings for the family that they would set up a trust. Or maybe that's just me.

They had set up the college fund a long time before that.

And Kate is the only one with access to the accounts right now, except for the JKIG account ie. the one that Kate claims Jon took $232,000 out of.

I know I'm venturing into OT territory, but yesterday, we were talking a good bit about the Duggars and the differences between the families and I was just watching a rerun of the Duggars while I was cleaning up the kitchen and it was one I had not seen before when Jim Bob takes the older kids to ElSalvador to spend time with kids in orphanages there. Uh, there is your difference. They are afforded opportunities to travel with the show and they go to El Salvador to show their children how the truly poor live. Jon and Kate - Disney, Hawaii, OuterBanks, Hilton Head...etc.
The Duggars are the real deal.

Well I am back after taking a break and I can not believe all that has been going on. And what is this new rumor that Kate is having an affair with her babysitter. I still lurked so I saw the facebook page and I never saw a picture that seem not right to me. What is going on? Is this a rumor started here or is it out there in the press? I am so confussed. that link was posted before, but thanks for doing it again -- it deserved a 2nd look from me. I've been looking at way too many trees here, and Z is talking about the forest. The first time I read it, I couldn't get past the fact that he was repeating (as has everybody else) the statements made by Kate's lawyer (which IMO is only part of what happened yesterday)

He's right -- Kate did come out and lie to everybody on the Today Show and on the View. It wasn't like she was responding to something that had been written about her -- it was her choice. So why do it at all?

We assume, she was referring to Jamie Ayers, the one Kate called her "bestest friend" on the last episode. She had several photos up of all the Gosselins including Kate and her sister.

None of the photos suggested anything remotely like that. It would be like me saying that Jon and his lawyer are having a fling because I saw a photo of them on the street walking together.
