Was this the previously set times for him to be there or was Kate trying to change his visitation?

Based on the current situation it appears that Kate was attempting to change visitation to minimize the fighting in front of the children. To be honest, in this case it appears she was looking out for the girls' best interest. (let's not fight and be nasty in front of the girls on their birthday). At least this is my read on the situation. But I could be wrong.

Kate asked Jon if he would pick them up at the bus stop so I assume the media frenzy will start there. OMG what has he done

I'm not sure what their visitation schedule is. I haven't seen it posted anywhere. What I read was that he gets from starting Thursday through the weekend. If there's no stipulation in the agreement for birthdays, it would mean that Kate is trying to change it on him. Did he tell Kate that it wasn't suitable for him?

Jon actually said they both agreed to shared custody days on birthdays and holidays and custody is written that way on such days. Kate's email indicates that is the arrangement as well.

His actions are laughable and if those who decided to be on Team Jon for his "brave" move at banning TLC are still on it now when his motives were somewhat obvious, I don't know what else can be said.


He wants the kids on the money train as much as Kate and neither are interested in removing the kids from this crazy filming "for their own good".

I think I'm ready to concede defeat. I'm waving the white flag. We can't help the kids, it seems no one can or even cares. It 's not going to end for them.....

Sadly, I agree. I wish that BOTH of them will wake up and realize that their childish actions are going to forever hurt their children.

Like I said, I don't know what their custody agreement is but everything that I've read says that Kate is trying to change it.

It wouldn't surprise me. I think it was Mady or Cara who called Kate about the babysitter Jon got the day she went to the house on his custody day.

I find it curious though, that even though Jon "outed" Mady for calling him and telling him everything, he has not mentioned at all what the kids have said about the show not filiming anymore. He says he talks to the kids a hundred times a day, so you would think he would telling everyone if they told him they were happy about the show not filiming.

Disclaimer: I am NOT saying the kids should still be filming. I am saying maybe Jon should have sat them down and talked to them about it and why they wouldn't be filming anymore before announcing it on LKL.

It wouldn't surprise me either. My DD is the same age and her dad was away working for 3 months -- she would find any excuse to call him eg. "I gotta call dad, my tooth is loose", "I gotta call dad, my tooth just got looser", you get the picture. The fact that (probably) both parents seem appreciative of their phone calls tattling on their parents is sure to keep them doing it.

Even if Mady is calling him like that, why would he rat her out on national tv and risk having Kate make her life a living hell for it???? Does he not see that making statements like that - true or not - will effect the kids?

Yeah, like; Beth, Kevin & Jody, Kate's parents (who took care of the twins the whole time Kate was in the hospital w/ the tups), the old TLC crew, etc ...

I hate when these "experts" (like Dr Drew) who obviously know nothing about the show or the family, chime in.

Don't forget to add Jon's entire family to that list. IMO, one of the good things to come out of this divorce is that the kids will get to spend more time with their grandmother.

I guess that my problem is that Kate always tries to portray herself as the good parent and Jon as the bad one that doesn't care about their children. She says constantly the she doesn't do anything for herself but instead everything is for her children. I would like to hear her explanation as to how this is for them.


There seems to be a double standard. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand anything that Jon has done lately (except maybe stop the production of the show) but it seems Kate is given way more slack than Jon.

Imagine of Jon had gone on Leno and did a similar skit. Does anyone think that the public (especially many people on this board) would think that it was funny or a good way to supplement the family income? I doubt it. He's getting raked over the coals for his recent TV appearances but again, not many people seem to be upset at Kate for being on TV.

This is just my opinion and I understand that many don't share it. Maybe it's more clouded now because I'm getting so sick of her trying to come off as the martyr all of the time. I don't begrudge her me time but then she shop stop playing the victim roll and stop saying "everything that I do is for my children."

He would have had Thurs-Mon, with Thurs shared with Kate because it was the girls' birthday. She wanted to change that to 2 hours on Thurs, and Sat noon to Sun 5 pm

I feel that way right now too -- these kids are nothing more than a commodity to sooo many people.

And there is really nothing we can do to change that. Something is really wrong here -- I hope that all those former child actors jump on the bandwagon and make some changes happen in the legislation because I'd hate to see this happen to another child. Maybe we can find some way to support them -- that might make me feel better.

Yes I agree they both have acted horrible but the OP was ranting about the live stream today & all evidence points to this being all Jon. We have been talking about it for 3 pages at least.

I figured that would happen while I was away.

Thanks to Twitter, I've semi-caught up with the goings on of Jon and Kate for the past week. Caught up in the sense that I saw the headlines from RadarOnline. I didn't do any actual reading on what's been going on.

I'm done with them both. Attention seeking, selfish jerks they BOTH are. If either of them cared about the children, they'd get out of the spotlight instead of using it as a platform. I came in from the parks on Tuesday night, turned on the TV, and the Gosselins were the topic of discussion on Headline News. That's what this has come to? This country has significant issues and Jon & Kate Gosselin are the headlines? Seriously?

Truly, they sicken me, and I pray for their children. What a mess.

I may or may not be back to the thread .. I've come to enjoy posting with you all and would miss that .. but dishing the Gosselins? Nope. Can't deal with them anymore.

Is Kate allowing them in the house? Or are we all just waing to see his car pull in the driveway? It' his house, he can have them in right? But she can say she doesn't want them on TV just like he can right? How are they handling it?

Just read a bunch of articles on the ET site, and it sounds more like they're just filming him arriving at the house. What show was he on when he said she would probably call the cops and not let him in? -- the only good way I can look at this is that he might really be worried that she would do that.

I'm not a fan of this idea, but I'm not going to get angry at somebody for something they haven't done yet. We only have RadarOnline's word for it that he ever wanted to film in the house, and they're the same people that repeatedly said Kate was having an affair with her bodyguard (which I never believed because there was never proof of that), also said Jon was engaged to Deanna, etc. etc.

Back to your question, Kate has the right to not let them film on her property, same as Jon. I highly doubt he would have expected her to allow that. And since he didn't accept her offer re the birthday arrangements, I think it's also doubtful he's picking the kids up at the bus stop, otherwise ET would say they were filming that.

Just my 2 cents. I'll wait and see and get angry later.

Redrose, I actually just came across a short interview Jon gave the paps about this. As you say, he really has nothing bad to say about Kate doing the Jay Leno thing and he says it was 2 weeks ago and the time line is messed up. I thought he said the timing was messed up of her doing the skit but he is talking about this whole saga. He does seem to be happy for her and even compliments her:

The Dionne Quintuplets. Sounds more and more like that every day, doesn't it?

Madge, I am telling ya -- this is SO the Dionne Quintuplets part II.

It was so freaky -- I saw a movie they were in the other day. In one scene, their caretaker surprised them with two puppies. They were outside laughing and playing with the puppies -- looking for all the world like the happiest kids on Earth. Of course it was all being filmed and put in a movie.

It looked EXACTLY like the episode where the Gosselin kids are given their puppies. It could have been shot from the same script, just 60 years earlier. It gave me the chills.

I've read their book "They Were Five" which went into depth about how miserable the Dionnes were, how they felt used and exploited. And all I can think now is, it's happening to another set of kids. I've made this point on this board before -- and I've had people disagree and point out all the differences between the Dionnes and the Gosselins -- but I'm telling you, I feel it in my bones, we're going to read a similar story from the Gosselin kids decades down the road.

There's a reason why the surviving Dionne quints sent a letter to the McCaugheys (parents of Iowa septuplets) warning them not to televise or put their kids lives in the media.
