I have Tmz livestream up as I'm doing dishes...

Now as I see how the house is set up and how the paps can stand at the fence at the road and easily get the shot of the garage doors (where there are sooo very many photo ops in trashy cheap white plastic lawn chairs....I am wondering.... why Oh why hasn't Kate had some hedges planted there yet? Just one row of fast growing evergreen hedges....it would immediately reduce the amount of times we see them in the tabloids...we wouldn't see babysitters grabbing them by the arm and yelling at them and Kate spanking etc....it would be such a quick fix...that is the only angle the paps have of the house and that is where they always play, so please! plants some hedges already!

ET was there as Jon Gosselin picked up a birthday cake for his twin daughters Mady and Cara -- and the dad of eight shared his thoughts on wanting to celebrate the birthday as a family, but claimed Kate is "dividing the family up." Read on for more…

"We were supposed to celebrate together, but now she has decided that it's going to be a separate day, so I'm out getting a cake for my time, and she has a cake for her time," Jon told ET. "But my time's first, so maybe they'll eat my cake before."

Jon showed off the cake he purchased for his twins' nine-year-old birthdays -- a round vanilla cake decorated with colorful rose petals made from icing.

"This is just to show my appreciation that I love Mady and Cara very much and that I miss them very much," he said at the bakery when picking up the delectable treat. "This is all different for me because we've always had family celebrations, and now she's dividing the family up."

Jon went on to say: "I just want us to be a family again, mom and dad -- not husband and wife -- but mom and dad. We should still celebrate together, but she's decided she doesn't want to do that."

"I want to show the world, I'm a good father and I am responsible and I will take care of my kids as best I know how," Jon told ET.

it was a good time! I was hoping to see TotalSnowWhite last Friday, but our paths didn't cross

I saw Paula Deen at Casey's Corner last Friday, resisted the urge to comment on Kate. She is LOVELY in person. Very kind to the fans who approached her. I was so surprised to see her at Casey's, though. Her family took up almost all the tables, LOL!

for anyone with a trip coming up .. the crowds from free dining were evident this week. it might have been because of fall break in many school districts and the Columbus day holiday weekend, but it was crowded this week compared to the same week last year.

As the child of divorced parents, I can say from personal experience that I doubt Mady and Cara would want them both there at the same time. Yes, it would be cool to have them there *in theory* but even 9-year-olds can feel tension, and there would definitely be tension! I was always very nervous when my parents were forced into the same places at the same time (plays, spelling bees, graduation, etc.) and that was years and years after they divorced, not during the height of their bickering (like J&K).

Plus they get two cakes. What kid wouldn't want that, lol!

P.S. Madge, I think it's awesome that you got to see Paula Deen. Was her accent just as strong as on tv?

yes! she sounded exactly the same! she commented on my daughter's hair .. told her she looked like Goldilocks We didn't linger, we were on our way out of the restaurant, and their food was getting cold. But, it was lovely to meet her and Michael.

I figured that would happen while I was away.

Thanks to Twitter, I've semi-caught up with the goings on of Jon and Kate for the past week. Caught up in the sense that I saw the headlines from RadarOnline. I didn't do any actual reading on what's been going on.

I'm done with them both. Attention seeking, selfish jerks they BOTH are. If either of them cared about the children, they'd get out of the spotlight instead of using it as a platform. I came in from the parks on Tuesday night, turned on the TV, and the Gosselins were the topic of discussion on Headline News. That's what this has come to? This country has significant issues and Jon & Kate Gosselin are the headlines? Seriously?

Truly, they sicken me, and I pray for their children. What a mess.

I may or may not be back to the thread .. I've come to enjoy posting with you all and would miss that .. but dishing the Gosselins? Nope. Can't deal with them anymore.

Madge, you're back! I hope you had a wonderful time. I'm not too happy that it's crowded there though, I'm leaving in 17 days.

I agree with your assessment. I seriously just want to knock J&K's heads together and tell them that it's not about them! It's about the kids who unfortunately are nothing more IMO than a bargaining chip and paycheck. It is disgusting.

Anyhow, about the thread...maybe we could all start another one with a topic that interests all of us? Or it could just be something random like 'the recovering from J&K overload thread'? It's so enjoyable to read people's posts here and I for one would miss everyone.

Was this the previously set times for him to be there or was Kate trying to change his visitation?

Does this really matter?

I know LOTS of divorced couples and it isn't criminal to make a request as long as you are polite about it. Nothing obligates the other parent to say "yes"--but it makes them look pretty crappy to whine that someone made a simple request.

Raking Kate over the coals for a civil request seems silly regardless of the custody agreement.

Asking isn't uncouth, uncivil, or wrong.

Now if she were a witch about it--that would be another issue. But so far, not a shred of evidence to point to that.

And I would say the same thing if Jon politely made a request.

Sadly, I agree. I wish that BOTH of them will wake up and realize that their childish actions are going to forever hurt their children.

UPDATE: Jon Gosselin has a double-D problem on his hands -- as in his daughter's name is misspelled on the cake. It's Mady -- not Maddy.

A person from a mysterious entertainment show ordered the cake Jon Gosselin is schlepping to the big birthday.

An intrepid TMZ reporter called the Cupcake Cafe in NYC. The owner told us she got several calls from "a person from"Entertainment Something," ordering the cake and asking permission to shoot inside the bakery when Jon came a callin'.

When Jon arrived at the shop he had his eye on the cupcakes -- thus the name, Cupcake Cafe. Jon was surprised to learn the person from "Entertainment Something" had already ordered a cake. The owner thinks Jon paid cash, but that begs the question -- did "Entertainment Something" ultimately foot the $94.00 bill?

We checked TV Guide but no "Entertainment Something" is listed. So we took a shot in the dark and contacted "Entertainment Tonight." The rep said her show absolutely did not pay for Jon's cake.

But when Jon got the cake, an entertainment show was inside the shop shooting the "action." We do not know if the crew from "Entertainment Something" was inside the store, but"Entertainment Tonight"was.

Well, he can't even spell his own name, so it's not such a big deal. Everybody messes up, we just don't have a live stream broadcasting it! Note to Jon: another reason WHY we all don't have minute-by-minute plays of our lives filmed by Entertainment tonight....You never come off quite as cool as you think you will.

After watching the video of Jon picking up the girls from the bus, can u imagine how the girls feel on the way home from school and all the talk on the bus about the paps? I feel soo sorry for them. I think Jon and Kate should have taken the family away somewhere where the paps can't get to them. But then again, that would mean the parents would be putting the kids first.

You know.................. why, why, WHY couldn't one of these two decide to be the bigger person and let the other have tonight? Who care who is right or wrong for pete's sake. Kate said she was making a chocolate cake from scratch for their birthday and now apparently Jon is going to show up with two more cakes (since the one from the TMZ picture just seems to say "Happy Birthday Maddy, I'm assuming he got Cara one too) and that will probably be another issue between them....it's all just so ridiculous and petty. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT, not that this matters at all, but if one of them did back down and give the other one the night it would have made them look like the better person in the PR war. But nope, both are too selfish and stubborn. It makes me sick.
