First of all, the "acting" was terrible. Besides that, why is she there shooting a skit when her kids are at home. She said that everything that she does is for her kids, how in the world is being on Leno for them?

Kate is not an actress and I do not think she has ever said she was....it was a skit. She was not going for an Emmy. Just a break from all the crap that has been going on in her life. I am so guessing, she was laughing with the rest of us at this whole skit on Leno. Mother's spit....hahahaha

AND how do you know where Kate was...she could have been 5 minutes from home in a parking lot in PA, while all 8 kiddos were in school. Leno film crews go everywhere not just L.A.!!!

I hate when these "experts" (like Dr Drew) who obviously know nothing about the show or the family, chime in.

Yeah, I was going to point that out! And you can add the dogs and probably Jon to that list.

I haven't watched in forever, but from what I've heard they do not appear so happy on the show lately. Sure all kids act out, but not on national Tv where is is picked apart by all of America.

Stop the show, now. The only ones who will have lasting damage from the sudden end are the parents and TLC, and it hits them right in the wallet.

And if the arguement is that these kids don't have anything to do or any sort of real life without a camera crew, that is probably the saddest thing in the whole fiasco.

I don't understand this line of reasoning. Are you suggesting that she should never do anything on days when her kids are home? Some military moms are gone from there homes for up to 14 months at a time, does that mean they are being selfish and not thinking of their kids? I think a lot of them do that for their kids, and it's not always because they have to financially. I guess because she is on TV or above a certain income level people think she should just stay home? Lots of moms choose to work and are away from their kids because of it, they don't get to take time off just because it's their custody day, or because they are going through a nasty divorce. I don't doubt that Kate is doing this for her kids. I also think that part of being a good mom is doing things for yourself. The last thing I want to teach my daughter is that being a mom means you completely set aside your life and goals for others. Family is about sharing lives, every member has to have a life to share.
Don't mean to sound harsh or point you out in particular, just don't understand the logic behind this line of thinking.

Honestly no one could possibly be this stupid. My own little theory, and I've had it for a while is that TLC, Jon and Kate had this little agreement to get Jon off the show and out of the contract and the marriage, but he had to take the fall. Everyone had to hate him and things he did have to make Kate look better. And then they would give Jon whatever he wanted.

I think your theory is probably pretty accurate.

I never understood why, when all this started, Jon didn't stand up for himself and make it crystal clear that he did not cheat on Kate because they were already [informally] separated.

Even now, when it gets brought up, he's wishy-washy in his answers. If it were me - I'd be sure the time line was out there.

It could be but based on the background shots, it doesn't look like PA to me. Of course, I could be wrong.

I read that radaronline link where it says Jon wants E to film the kids' birthday and Kate doesn't. I'm sure Jon's going to cry foul, but I'm with Kate on this one. It's one thing to have the TLC crew around, who the kids are all familiar with, but new camera people that they've never met? On their birthday of all days?? Creepy, creepy, creepy.

What the heck is Jon thinking, saying that he doesn't want to film them out of one side of his mouth and saying, sure, go ahead and film them out of the other side! What an odd man.

I agree, just because you are a Mom your life does not need to stop. BUT, at this time, things are so difficult for the children. They need a set schedule with both parents. IMO, Kate and Jon should schedule their work around their custody days. Not everyone has this luxury, but at the moment both Jon and Kate don't have a 9-5 so it is easier for them.

All I stated was that this was a nice funny break from all the crap that she has been dealt lately. Something we could all laugh about...Kate being the 24/7 Mommy...just funny.

And the kiddos are all very very aware of all the cameras on them constantly filming them where ever they go...I think if Kate set this up for them and showed them JUST HER SKIT...the kiddos would laugh...esp at the end when she buckles in the Pap and gives him a fluffy and drives away with kid-friendly music blasting in the car stereo...

I guess that my problem is that Kate always tries to portray herself as the good parent and Jon as the bad one that doesn't care about their children. She says constantly the she doesn't do anything for herself but instead everything is for her children. I would like to hear her explanation as to how this is for them.


There seems to be a double standard. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand anything that Jon has done lately (except maybe stop the production of the show) but it seems Kate is given way more slack than Jon.

Imagine of Jon had gone on Leno and did a similar skit. Does anyone think that the public (especially many people on this board) would think that it was funny or a good way to supplement the family income? I doubt it. He's getting raked over the coals for his recent TV appearances but again, not many people seem to be upset at Kate for being on TV.

This is just my opinion and I understand that many don't share it. Maybe it's more clouded now because I'm getting so sick of her trying to come off as the martyr all of the time. I don't begrudge her me time but then she shop stop playing the victim roll and stop saying "everything that I do is for my children."
