Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

They go to court wed. Kate has the money transfers with the accounts they went into. They are either Jon's or not. I guess they could be someone else's Cayman Island account. But Jon or Kate would have to had made these transfers.

If they are Jons he will be a certifiable crazy person after going on all these show. IMO

Yep, that's gonna be one fun b-day party on Thursday. I can't wait to find out which one is crazy.

I agree. Jon is confusing me. On The Insider they said Jon and Kate had 14 accounts and he explains its because of the FDIC insured amount but on ET right now, they say there are 2 major accounts.

Didn't he or Kate say that TLC pays them as a family? I wonder if Kate and Jon decided together what everyone's share would be or if he decided what his paycheck is on his own.

Jon just said TLC pays for most of their stuff. Landscaping, wardrobe, catering, dry cleaning, etc. Interesting.

Ok, I'm jealous. I missed both of these shows when they aired here tonight, and the video links aren't up yet. Thanks for filling us in. :goodvibes

Its even more weird that when Jon saw the pictures, he called her the Nanny and not Kate's best friend. I thought the angry looking nanny was the best friend we saw on the show last night? Shouldn't Jon know who she is?

I don't know if he's mentally ill but his anger and frustration can be easily seen in all his interviews. His emotions are making him seem like he's all over the place. I heard someone on LKL describe him as a pinball machine and I agree. It's hard for me to take him seriously because he doesn't seem consistent. You know, filming wasn't bad a few weeks ago but it is now. Says he wants to talk and mediate with Kate on The Insider but on ET says he doesn't want to see/talk to her (both shows aired tonight).

I was surprised when one of the guys on the Insider said Kate did go to counseling with Jon once. Jon has always made it seem like she straight up refused to go.

They had a counselling session with Dr. Phil -- something about saving the brand -- I think it was discussed by Jon on the interview for Prime Time Live. But that was in May, I think, 6 months after he had gone to counseling and asked Kate to go.

And I would be beside myself with anger if I was wrongly accused, and publicly, of something like this. But I have met people who are more angry when they're guilty of something and they're being cornered.

IMO, Jon's lawyer must feel like they have a good defense to these allegations or he wouldn't have done these shows this week. Tomorrow we'll find out whether Mr. Heller is a worthy opponent or somebody who is giving the worst possible advice.

She went to Dr. Phil in March...that was to discuss the 'brand' not the marriage.

Poor Jon is so out of the loop that we know who the lady with his kids today is, but he may or may not.

I don't know if she is really a friend or just more 'paid' help. Who can tell at this point.

It's twisted and we all definitely know too much.

Kate is crazy in the "my mother is a crazy person" kind of way. But I think she is still in touch with reality.

Jon is scaring me in the " My dad is mentally ill" kind of way.

I still really care about Jon, Kate & the children. I was really hoping rehab was going to fix him. Now I think it is a way more serious fix.

Really!? Miss "My kids don't have food and I can't pay the bills" Gosselin? She has never been in touch with reality! She is just as crazy, but in a different, self preserving kind of way.

I always figured TLC was footing the bill for a lot of the expenses...figured that was part of the pay for doing the show.

I sure do wonder what tomorrow will bring.

ITA! And so will their kids, if not soon, someday. :scared1: Isn't divorce alone hard enough for these kids?

I heard about the Dr. Phil thing but didn't think the guy from The Insider was referring to that since like you said, it was about the brand and not marriage counseling. I guess he could be referring to the Dr. Phil thing.

Because Jon didn't recognize her, I'm suspicious about her being Kate's best friend. I would think that since they were married for 10 years, he would know how her best friend looked like. Maybe she is just paid help.

Fake marriage, fake friends :scared1::scared1::scared1:

This isn't a healthy situation, even for the adults.

It was also weird he had not seen the pictures with the Nanny. We know more than he does about what is going on. He may not know about everyone seeing the court papers with all the transactions from that account.

Am I the only one who is thinking he is mentally ill?

Had not seen which pictures with what nanny? (I taped the wrong channel)

As to the mentally ill thing, you know, ever since LKL I've been thinking Jon reminds me of my dad when the doctor put him on Zoloft for depression. He had like a reaction to it and was completely off the wall. It was the weirdest thing and I said the same thing...he was like a ping pong ball. Paranoid, talking fast, saying things that didn't make sense, coming up with all these weird schemes and plans, didn't care about money, was spending, spending. It was bizarre. Obviously I have no way of knowing if Jon is taking any medication, but he keeps talking about therapy, who knows. AND the change in my dad seemed to happen overnight once he started taking the Zoloft. We also had a hard time getting him off it. He wanted to keep taking it. We had to go to his doctor and intervene.

Showbiz Tonight finally said all the things that need to be said. Kate hung herself with the crying poor and the ring talk. I wonder now if Merideth may have done it on purpose. Kate's eyes just lit up when talking about the ring, and it was freakish when she said her and the kids talked about designing the ring and they were happy about it.

The one lady (I love her) also mentioned the elephant in the room about not going to the Statue of Liberty since it wouldn't be filmed.

Well, Kate did it to herself. I knew there would be karma, but it is still painful to watch.

The nanny that was screaming at the kids the other day -- apparently on last night's show as Kate's best friend, we've been looking at pictures of the Gosselins and posts about them on her wall for the last couple of hours.

Interesting about your dad though -- never knew antidepressants could cause that type of side-effect. Did they find another medication that worked for him?

Having said that, I used to work in a mental hospital, and after that worked for many years with homeless people (most of whom were mentally ill or addicts) so I really hate to throw diagnoses like that around about a person that we don't even know. But I can imagine there are people out there who would be absolutely gleeful if it was found out that Jon was mentally ill and had his children taken away from him forever. :rolleyes1 The current public spectacle has brought out a lot of haters on both sides, but this week Jon is the target of this venom -- I can hardly believe some of the comments I have seen about him throughout the internet.

I was not in any way trying to diagnose Jon. I have no idea if he takes any medication now or ever has, I am not saying he is reacting to medication, but he does remind me of how my dad was. And for the record, I would not be at all gleeful to find out Jon is mentally ill, nor would I want his children taken away from him forever.

And yes, they did find another medication that worked much better for my dad. After going off the Zoloft he never exhibited that strange behavior again. I'll never forget it though. My sister is a nurse and when she was explaining to the doctor what was happening she told him it was like it was making him maniac.

Jon said something on ET tonight that struck me as odd. He said he wasn't mad because he has proof that he did not take the money out of the account. If I didn't take money out of an account by my divorcing spouse accused me publicly of doing so, I would certainly be mad! I would be saying how ticked off at them for accusing me of something that I didn't do and I had the proof to back it up! That made me believe that he did take the money and tried to cover it up.

I found Friday’s episode of The Insider.. here’s the links for anyone else that miss it.

Part 2

It bothers me that Jon is OK with taking money out of the kids' trust fund if they need money because he pulled the plug on their show. He should have had something else in the works to avoid that! He did say 80% of their money is in that trust so that's good, seems like everyone is getting 10%.

Jon needs to get a Job, he is another Kevin Federline, Kate might be end up paying for his lawyer too.

Yup -- the link is on one of the previous pages of this thread.

He said $22,000 last week, $175,000 total in the past year.

For once, ITA with all of this.

IMO, the great thing about this being handled in court is that the judge or arbitrator can see where/who the money went to. But everybody involved in this would know that, wouldn't they? Somebody has totally lost their marbles here, and their lawyer along with them.

I still have to wonder why Kate decided to make this public, especially now, knowing that they went through the exact same process in July with her on the other side of it, and nobody made it public. IMO, that was the right thing to do. And we (and her children) would have never known that it happened if she hadn't brought this one to the media now. :sad2:

Can you please remind me of what happened in July? I can't keep track of this week, much less months ago!:thumbsup2

I still wish a judge would put a gag order on Jon and Kate and their attorneys, and just let this get worked out in the courts!

Is it tomorrow that the judge rules on Kate's request to have Jon replace the funds he withdrew?

Here are my predictions:

1) The judge WILL make Jon replace the money.
2) The judge WILL NOT make Jon sell his Mercedes and BMW.

Did Kate ask for anything else or was that it?

ETA: re: The Insider pt. 2. Did Jon just say that they MAY have to dip into the funds set aside for the kids? I hope I heard that wrong.

I only think there is 1 person who post here that has that kind of hate in their hearts....they also sound

How long were you at the mental hospital?;)

Jon took a large amount of money out of the joint account he had with Kate. She filed for Divorce( This was the famous because of his actions speech) Kate took 100,000 out to hide. She brought it & split it with Jon when they went to court. They were told not to touch any of the money without telling the other person & Kate was allowed to pay bills only.

No, I know that. Jon actually has said that he was "depressed" when he found out that Kate no longer wanted to be married to him. And there are some signs that he might be on anti-depressants eg. weight gain, which is a very common side effect. Being on anti-depressants is an extremely common thing when people are going through events like this and it wouldn't surprise me if one or both of them have been prescribed those for at least some time in the past year. Having said that, Jon's has also said that his father was an alcoholic (and his grandfather too, I think) and many addicts use to self-medicate for depression, so it is very possible that depression runs in his family. Also, many children of addicts suffer from depression just as a result of issues from their childhood.

I just tend to shy away from the term "mentally ill" because of all of the connotations that it carries with it.

Jon said something on ET tonight that struck me as odd. He said he wasn't mad because he has proof that he did not take the money out of the account. Yup -- that's just weird. :confused3 But Jon is not a very good public speaker, just saying.

ETA: re: The Insider pt. 2. Did Jon just say that they MAY have to dip into the funds set aside for the kids? I hope I heard that wrong.

She asked the judge to hold him in contempt, which to me is a bigger deal than asking him to return the money.

There was a story that Kate had taken a lot of their money and placed it into a revocable trust in order to have it exempt from the disposition of assets, but she remains in charge of it. That may be what he is referring to. Then again, I would never say never when it came to using money. If there was no other way to make ends meet in the short-term once the money from the show stops coming in, I could see them dipping into that until they get themselves established in other jobs. I just don't think that he is now willing to keep his kids on the show solely for the paycheque (regardless of his motives for taking them off it)

How long were you at the mental hospital?;)

Thanks for adding the smiley. Two years, and I outlasted many people -- I worked as a research assistant for a day program paranoid schizophrenics and psychotics who would never be able to live completely on their own or never be released from hospital ie. there was no medication that could help them live a normal life. It helped pay for university. Not fun, but definitely not as dangerous as the work I did later since many of the homeless people I dealt with were on no medication at all.
