Jon has cut off Kates source of income & taken all the money in the household account. What do you think he is trying to accomplish?

1) Is he just being vindictive?

I don't know what he's trying to accomplish- but if he did this- he has clearly lost his mind. She will eat him alive.

Well, supposedly he's had an epiphany and he's manning up. Way to be a man Jon!

I'm going to vote for numbers 1 and 2 and throw in my own take -- that man is burning through money like there is no tomorrow and he probably is to the point where he needs money. Four brand-new cars in the last year, (Mercedes, BMW, etc.), a very pricey apartment in Manhattan. There have been reports of him dropping a thousand-plus dollars at Gucci in one shopping trip.

One thing to note -- my understanding is he just cleared out their personal joint account. There is a household account set up to pay for household expenses. That wasn't touched, according to the articles. And I don't think Jon has access to that account.

I'll throw in a 4th option! New lawyer has required a large retainer. Jon says he has the $ but it is inaccessible for now. New lawyer says - that $ is as much yours as anyone else's. Be a man and take your $, you worked for it! Jon has epiphany and decides that new lawyer is right!

Not to downplay this, but how much money has Kate taken out of the bank account since the pending divorce was announced? It seems that everything she does is fine, but anything Jon does is wrong. I'm not sticking up for Jon because I think he has done a lot of dumb things, but I don't think we are hearing both sides of the story.

Lets see how honest she is with Meredith tomorrow or is she going to answer the questions with a question???

When my ex left DS and I in May '99, we had a joint bank account. We were living paycheck to paycheck. Well, he came by the house and asked if all the bills were paid for the month. I said they were. Little did I know that the next day, he would remove everything left in the account! I had to borrow money from my parents to buy groceries and gas. To top it off, he didn't pay any child support for 6 months, until the judge ordered it to be automatically withdrawn from his check.

So yes, men AND women will do that. I don't think it's fair, but I guess people have different ideas of fair.

I think that if Jon is serious about stopping the how, he needs to start putting himself on a budget and get a JOB. Someone has to pay for that house, the private school, and all the other huge expenses.

Oh good grief! These 2 are driving me crazy if it is indeed true that Jon swiped most of their joint account. I kind of want to knock their 2 heads together. Because they're both so full of spite, they are going to drain so much of their $ in lawyers fees. All just to get back at each other. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I wonder when all is said and done (if it ever will be) how much they wasted on all this divorce attorney circus. How sad that they can't even communicate either. They have 8 reasons to be adults here. Imagine years from now....

Mady: But what about all that $ we made on J&K+8?
Kate: Oh honey, that's long gone. Your father and I wasted it all on divorce lawyers and proceedings. But didn't you enjoy doing the show?

I wonder how this kind of game-playing will impact either of them regarding custody? I've never been through this myself - is it the same judge that would decide custody arrangements as well as financial? I would assume most things would be worked out by lawyers ahead of time before going before a judge but these two don't seem anywhere close to being able to communicate. (this gets slimier and slimier...)

mousey - I would hope that Kate hasn't done anything this slimy. I'm sure they both have a ton of expenses they have racked up since filing (didn't Kate buy herself a nice new SUV too!) but anything big like this ...against court orders...yikes!
I certainly hope Meredith questions her about this - although the obvious non-answer would be they were in court about this and could not speak about it until a judge makes a decision.

I don't know what Jon could be thinking. The past year has shown he says one thing and then acts totally opposite. Every action seems to be a rebellion against Kate - no thinking of consequences at all.

Does it really matter which account? If they already have a court order in place stating who can touch what....he should not have done it. Whatever is left will all be split soon enough anyways...unless you stall the divorce process. Now who would do that?

I don't have anything to say. If he took money he was not supposed to, Kate needs to follow proper legal channels to get it back and Jon has to suffer the consequences. I don't know how stupid and ridiculous this will get, but each day I can't believe what they are doing....to each other and the kids. A small part of me thinks it's all so unbelievable, that maybe we are being played by TLC.

Now the reports of him not being home, perhaps it's Kate's time and he can't be home anyway. And no one (in the media) questions Kate's time away from the kids, which is substantial as well.

So true..but like I said earlier, this stuff happens in divorce all the time but because those people are not on TV we don't know about it. As for college, I thought they had a separate account for the kids

I hope we are not being played for ratings! I would hope that a network would not stoop that low.

I also don't get what the big deal is with the time each of them are away from house...they both are away a lot...it was like that before they even separated.

Marty Singer has been named on of Los Angeles’ top lawyers year after year and now he’s just issued a stern warning to both Jon Gosselin and his lawyer Mark Heller.

Singer, representing Kate Gosselin, not only has Jon in his sites, but is prepared to carry the fight to his lawyer in a case where Jon has defied a court order in the acrimonious divorce.

RadarOnline.com broke the story early Sunday that Jon removed hundreds of thousands of dollars from a joint account with Kate last week, despite a court order prohibiting such action.

Now, Singer tells RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview: “If the money is not immediately returned, we will be looking into potential claims against Mr. Heller if he had any involvement with the violation of the court order.

"It is very disappointing that Jon Gosselin has escalated this to such an ugly place that her lawyers have to do everything they can to protect her and her children from his outrageous actions."

Put that in the category of not a threat, put a promise.

Kate hired Lavely & Singer after discovering Jon secretly pulled out $200,000 from their bank account, leaving her with only $1,000. That action violated a court order and Singer sent Jon's lawyer a letter via email but never heard back. Meanwhile, Jon and his lawyer appeared on Larry King Live and Jon told the national TV audience he wanted to put the brakes on his divorce and establish a better relationship
with Kate.

Kate discovered Jon's actions through overdraft notices and is extremely upset.

As RadarOnline.com reported earlier Sunday, another one of Kate’s lawyers will be going to court in Pennsylvania on Monday seeking to recover the funds. The lawyer may also ask that Jon be held in contempt.

And in what could be the most dramatic turn yet, if Jon is found to be in contempt of the court order he could end up behind bars!

The split between Jon and Kate Gosselin has been contentious from the beginning, but Jon could be found in contempt of court for the unauthorized withdrawal of $200,000 from the couple's joint bank account, Kate Gosselin's attorney tells PEOPLE.

Celebrity lawyer Marty Singer, a litigation attorney for Kate, tells PEOPLE that Jon never warned Kate he was going to remove the large sum of money from their account last week, even though the court had told them not to take significant amounts from joint accounts without the other's approval. Singer says he e-mailed a stern letter to Jon's attorney on Friday but he hasn't heard back.

"They have not responded. I'm sure he will respond by going on another TV show," says Singer, who noted that Jon’s move flies in the face of comments Jon made to Larry King that he'd like to put the brakes on his divorce.

Singer says he expects Kate's family law attorney in Pennsylvania will go to court Monday morning to suggest Jon be held in contempt.

According to singer, Kate learned about the withdrawal after receiving overdraft notices regarding her joint account with her estranged husband. When she inquired with the bank, she was told Jon had removed $200,000, leaving only about $1,000 in the account.

"Of course she's upset," Singer says.

It sounds like they could take some money but not large amounts. This new lawyer is going to play games with wording in contracts & agreements.

I think the new tactic is to drive up the lawyer bills on Kate. I'm just not getting why. I thought he just wanted to be free of her. He was a few days of being divorced.

I might be putting myself out on a limb, but I just don't believe Jon took that money out of the account. The guy must of did 3 interviews last week and I can't believe he would take a 180 degree turn around and do this. I think its going to untrue---JMO!
