To be followed up with the newest version called "Kiss me Deanna"!

I know! I stil can't believe our good luck. We saved something like $1600 since it was a free dining code and we're paying for us and our in-laws. It does look like we'll miss each other with our trips...we arrive late the night of Oct. 25th. I hope you have a fabulous time, I want to try Animal Kingdom Lodge next after we do the Polynesian!:thumbsup2

Love this idea! My 6 year old's tantrums are really few and far between now but this is good to know! My DH would be in shock and I would be laughing like crazy.

My kids LOVE that show! They think Victoria Stillwell is THE dog expert and that our neighbors who have dog problems should call her!

You all will NEVER believe what DH and I saw yesterday. We were driving behind a car that kept slamming it's brakes and swerving. I thought he was drunk or something so I passed him. As we did so, we looked over at his car and his wife was punching him in the face! No word of a lie! It was the craziest thing I've ever seen and we were shocked. What is wrong with people?? :confused3

I am not the earth cruchy type in the least but, I'll never understand physical violence. I have been mad, really mad but I have never raised my hand to anybody. She could have caused a serious accident. What was she thinking:scared1:?

....Could be that by the time the show had aired and the article came out, her PR people had had a change of mind....

In addition to their PR people, I would bet money that their attorneys advised to cut it off so they don't say anything that could be used against them in court!

....Maybe they could do a show with a dog trainer so the dogs don't have to be put up?....
OMG, that is such a good idea. TLC owns Animal Planet, they could bring on Victoria Stillwell.....

I agree! It's a great idea! Since they already had Emeril and American Chopper guys on the show, I'm surprised TLC didn't think of this already! We'll all be LOLing if we see this come to fruition! :rotfl: No doubt one of the primary reasons for getting those dogs was for security, so I don't see Kate getting rid of them desite her lack of love for them.

I finally thought of the questions I would ask Kate while she is under truth serum, I would ask if she had ever tried to get pregnant w/o fertility drugs.

Was just watching CNN while folding laundry, and they had a discussion of how it had taken a "perfect storm" to get everybody to "stop talking about America's most dysfunctional family"

That did it for me -- no matter what happens, they need to end the show -- even if they have to pay TLC to do it. If that's the way the mainstream media perceive the show, the parents need to end this to preserve some dignity for their kids.

I think those dogs are beautiful, I think all dogs are beautiful. I don't think Kate is an animal lover, and to crate them with that huge yard, ugh. I think Jon is good to them, and I hope he would not let Kate hit them like she did to the little girl.

They are beautiful dogs! I just love dogs and agree that yard is huge and the necessity of crating was silly in my opinion. But I don't have 8 kids so I might think differently if I did.

When did Kate hit a little girl?

I think it was about one of the kid's hitting the dog ie. Kate was letting her do it -- I heard about that somewhere :confused3

But...I've seen many items that say Kate is a spanker.

I have 2 dogs and by no means am I any type of expert on proper training. I have an average size yard and they are never crated. My dogs love kids and food. Since they were puppies they some how knew to be gentle with kids, it was really sweet to see them interact with babies. They knew they could not rough house. And they are now very, very protective of all children and cats for that matter. Food they know to wait and if they are lucky they will get a treat, they do not alwyas get a treat maybe just a pet or a "good girl" they
wait pateintly. I am no expert I just used common sense to train them for their own safety.
When I said she hit a little girl, It was when Kate hit one of the tups, I do not know which one it was. The one that was all over the news. When the little girl was whistling . I could never and have never raised my hand to train my dogs, they are far more motivated with praise, treats or their favorite squeaky toy. :goodvibes I believe Victoria Stiwell and other dig trainers do not condone hitting a dog to train it. For example, I hate when people rub their dog nose in their own feces to teach them, that is not training that is humiliation which will cause more problems witht he dogs social interactions in the future.

Jon had told some magazine that the kids bite, hit, climb on and pull the dogs tails. After he said that he had to make a statement about how they do not abuse the dogs.

I do know that Jon and Kate both have said in the past that they spank. I wonder if poster is speaking of when Kate spanked Leah not to long ago? The word "hit" is what confused me in reference to the child.

Lots of people crate dogs. It can be a good part of their training. These are just puppies and are probably still in the training stage. Eventually, they will learn not to grab food from the kids. I see nothing wrong with crating dogs and it's especially good, if you have young children..it gives the dogs somewhere to go, away from the kids.

While not an advocate of spanking, Leah (I think it was Leah) was blowing a whistle, not whistling and supposedly had been asked to stop. Kate and Jon have never hidden the fact that they spank. Again, many people spank bottoms and hands. There are different ways of bringing up children.

Well if it comes to fruition, Epcot luvr and I better get a consulting fee :rotfl2:.

If those dogs were brought in to provide security, then they should be trained, that would include not taking food.

MrsKsomeday,
:thumbsup2 deal!:)
You are right on the money there, if they are there for security there is no doubt the are highly trained. German Sheppards are an exceptionally smart breed and are very easy to train. They are beautiful dogs and at such a cute age now, still have a lot of puppy in them. I always love when my 9 year old pooch will randomly do something very puppy like, I am a big'ol animal softie.:goodvibes

Who's planning to watch the "J&K+8 The First 10 Years" tomorrow night? The description says it's previously unseen footage of the Gosselin family's early years. I've watched them from the beginning and think this would be a nice wrap up given all that has happened. Who knows, maybe this will be one of their final episodes.

We won't be watching -- easy decision since we're moving to the trailer tomorrow for the summer and we don't have a TV there (we used to but we realized nobody was watching it so we took it out) But we do have internet, so I'll catch up at some point. Although I haven't been watching the show, I'm probably curious enough to tune in after participating in this thread.

I "need" to watch just so I know what everyone is talking about. LOL It is all over the radio and new here (we are semi-local, same tv channels, etc..)

I used to watch just to see the cute kids now I watch to see what all the gossip is about. Oh God I am turning into my Mom.:rotfl:

.

There is nothing wrong with crating dogs. :confused3 Personally I think crate training is the best thing you can do for dogs.

My older dogs never go in their crates anymore, but you better believe the puppy is in there unless someone has direct eyes on him! ;)

oh....and speaking of dogs....here's the latest picture of the growing guy cuz I know a few of you like pics of him! :goodvibes

When the young dog goes to bed, or there is a thunderstorm ,fireworks, is home alone, general safety reasons for the pup are indeed very valid times for crating. IMOP, it is a shame to crate because a pet owner does not want to deal with the puppy, "just crate em". I believe if a pet owner are consistent with training a dog at a young age then there are few occasions when one needs to crate. My concern is kate would choose to just crate the dog than deal with it. And as MrsKsomeday pointed out if they are for securitey then surely they have already had ample training.

Your puppy is adorable, I am a sucker for dogs. :goodvibes I love me some puppy breath!

The shepherds brought into our vet clinic (I'm now retired), were not trained until 1 year old and of course not all of them 'passed'. These were generally used for police work and brought in by the police. They often lived with them at that time, before both the handler and the dog went to 'school'. These dogs were often crated. Perhaps these are the same. Or, they may be in the middle of being trained, and one of the ways they are training them, is to crate them at certain times such as when food is brought out. I personally know several people and we always had just regular clients who crated, and for many dogs it's a constant and not a bad thing through their adult life.
The dogs seem to be running around a lot, so I doubt they are crated just for the fun of it. When working our adoption clinics at Pet Smart, they have the training sessions going on (man, is it loud!) and they often talk to owners about crating, so I think it's pretty common.
I do agree it would be nice to see a show on the dogs being trained, and show the kids helping with that.
