Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread-Part 4

I don't care what she wears, when or if she smiles, what kind of celebrity she thinks she is, how she wears her hair or how she speaks to her DH.
I don't care about who he spends his nights with, what kind of personality he has, what kind of car he drives, or where he vacations or with whom.

What I do care about, and feel very very sad about...is why the hell those two parents continue to subject those poor children to the public ridicule during this clearly painful and difficult time. Especially Kara and Maddie. Those girls are old enough and smart enough to understand on some level that something is very wrong. Why do those two knuckleheads insist on making their family go through this under public scrutiny?????!!!!??? Every single time Kate says "everything i do is for my children" I just want to scream. Pull the plug on the show and let your family cope with whatever it is they need to cope with behind flippin closed doors. Not only do those children have to go through the pain of their Mom & Dads problems now, they will have to see it over and over again through the merciless public eye.
*Sorry for all the typo's...but my heart truly breaks for those children.:sad1::sad1::sad1:

Well said, I totally agree!!!!

Well, once again those pictures of Kate and the kids make me crazy. Not because of how she looks but simply that there are close-ups of the little ones. Now their faces are all over radaronline and any other place that will pay for them. How can she and Jon be ok with that? Why do you think celebrities guard their children from the public eye? I'm sorry but for me as a Mom, I wouldn't allow my kids to be photographed and kept in the limelight like Kate insists. There is no reason for the Gosselin kids to be plastered all over tabloids and internet sites. That alone would make me pull the plug on the show. Then again, I'd never put mine on TV for all the world to see either...

So what are they supposed to do? just be locked up and home and never go anywhere from now on?

Exactly and they are already famous. This will go on well into their adult life. Anything those kids do will be in the media. Even people who had a one hit wonder are in the media if they do something "news worthy".

Too many nuts on the loose in this world....I wonder if they fear for the childrens safety? I'm sure they never anticipated this type of media attention when they started. Can you imagine not being able to let your kids go outside to play without a hord of media camped outside your home. As difficult as it might be, it may be time to "fade away"...and out of the limelight. Shut it down. Keep your lives quiet, go about your business...and live your lives. Although at this point it may be too late. Only I think for the safety of their children, they should give it a shot.

Totally agree. I don't care one way or another about any of these people..except to think that there are enough wackos in the world that parents have to worry about under normal circumstances. Given that these little guys are in the limelight..and every wacko fresh out of the nut hut is watching this play out in the media every night....makes you wonder WTH these parents are thinking.:sad2: It's perfectly obvious there is a media obsession with this family, and that in itself should be alarming enough to these parents to end this "production" pronto.

Maybe Madge could answer this question, Kate and Jon do they ever give back, really give back? They seem to get so much and money seems to be the factor that keeps this show on the air . I ask because a friend of mine who is an artist, not a wealthy one. Just emailed me a picture of a mural he donated to an inner city school, he does not have kids. A teacher he knows asked if he would do it and he of course said yes. The letters these kids wrote to thank him were amazing he in return said he got so much more out of it than he ever expected. I am trying to find some remeding aspects in this situation. I know Jon worked with special needs kids on the last show but do they do anything charitable that is not for the show? I would appreciate hearing if anyone knows.

Jon Gosselin Caught On Tape!

Hey, buddy! You're going to need a new shovel if you keep digging deeper and deeper into this hole of yours.

Jon Gosselin can't seem to comprehend that all of America is watching his every move and insists on hanging out with other women while his wife is away. And now, the National Enquirer has video footage!

While his wife Kate Gosselin and his eight children are vacationing in North Carolina, Jon had been enjoying the company of his "friends" like 23-year-old Hailey Glassman, daughter of the plastic surgeon who performed Kate's tummy-tuck surgery.

What is it with this guy and 23-year-old girls?

The pair were seen having a secret "date" at bar in Nyack, NY. An eyewitness noticed that the young woman was "hanging on every word he said, and looked really happy to be with him."

Surveillance cameras at the restaurant caught Jon arriving, talking, and then abandoning his young blonde companion when he spotted a photographer. He quickly left her by fleeing through the back door. While Jon has publicly denied he's romantically involved with Hailey or anyone else for that matter, a friend of Hailey's confirmed she's been secretly meeting with Jon.

No need to meet in secret if nothing is going on!

We are really beginning to dislike Jon more and more. He better get his act together if he wants anyone in America to support him when he and Kate split.

I only know what TLC shows on Jon & Kate Plus 8. In addition to Jon's skiing show this week, here have been a couple of giving back episodes -- one, to the Ronald McDonald house which was more sincere (IMO) than the trip to the St. Jude facility or the yard sale for charity. Kate and the children filmed something at either the Hershey Medical Center or Ronald McDonald house near where they live .. it hasn't aired yet. The proceeds from the website also benefit a charitable organization.

They may give money to other groups, but if they have, it's gone without the press picking it up.

OK, this sentence is what I misunderstood. I thought you were saying she was in a dress, that was not a cover up, with a swimsuit underneath. I think Keggy and I both read this sentence the same way. I will do better from now on. ;)

Ditto - yes - I read this sentence exactly the same way as you.

Madge,
Thank you very much for the quick answer. I think when you give from your heart to people or animals in need what you get back in an emotional sense is always more than you could have ever dreamed of. I hope that they do instill giving back to the kids since they have been so fortunate to have gotten so much. It is never to young to teach your kids about charity and compassion. I am wanting to walk away from this story and thinking about these kids and trying to feel something positive ? Thanks again you really have given out some great information from an excellent unbiased standpoint, I appreciate that.

speaking of animals .. there was something in the episode where they got the dogs. they gave back in that one, too. I didn't see that one, so I'm not sure what they did .. but they gave back in that show, too.

and I don't know about unbiased comments, I try to stick to facts, but I'm not a fan .. never really have been. :lmao: but thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it :)

What they "give back" on camera means nothing to me, it's for show. What they give back when the cameras are off is what matters.

I am honestly curious about that, I asked Madge and she so graciously advised what she knew and it was only what she saw on the show. Do you know if they have done things out of the spotlight? I would be very interested to learn. I want to just be done with this story. I wrote to TLC and I also am choosing not to patronize products and stores that sponsor the show, that is what I feel is right for me to do. I would like to hear something that put a positive light on the situation as I walk away from it.
As you can see from my avatar, my cat is way too caught up in this story, she heard kate's hair was the style to have and she went and did this w/o my consent. I need to bring her to the groomer and change it, lol, lol.

The P-people chasing them around are the idiots.

I find it amusing that everyone rags on Kate endlessly about not spending time with the kids and being away from them so much. Now she's been with them for two weeks straight and they still find petty stuff to rag on her about. It's just all silly.

Well, everyone here is certainly allowed their opinions and no one here has to agree with everything they read. I don't necessarily agree with those here who are so "pro-Kate", but I don't comment or need to know WHY they like her so much. That's their right.

I happen to not like Kate, but get criticized for my opinions (people asking me why I feel this way or why I feel that way and taking comments that I say out of context and applying them to themselves (i.e. - taking it as a personal assault, for which it was not intended.)

I used to think this board was a friendly debate board, but too many of you on here take the comments too personally and frankly, it annoys me. And because of that, I think I will just lurk here and not post any more opinions, on this thread anyways.

I LOVE DIS! And I love the posters here, but I guess I feel that too many of us take this Jon and Kate subject to heart and turn the comments made into personal insults. I don't want to feel like I am making personal attacks anymore and I get tired of explaining myself.

Don't be too mad at me! I don't mean to be rude or anything, I just feel like maybe it's time for me to move on... :goodvibes

Love you all!

MICKEY4EVER, :grouphug: I know how you feel. There are often times I think some posters here take things too personal. But just remember luckily we live in America with free speech for everyone, even if other people don't have the same opinion as you do. As for us who say what could be perceived as not-so-nice things about Kate, Kate volunteerily chose to wear what she wears and act the way she acts in public and she has got to learn to take the good with the bad.

I do agree with that .. the trip to St. Jude was so nice in theory, and the part where they actually visited the hospital seemed genuine and heartfelt. But the producers had to throw in the ridiculous movie tie-in, Kmart commercial and trip to the Peabody hotel. Made it seem more like a vacation then giving back.

I'm still here, so I'll comment on this:

First of all, thank you for what you said, and it is so true. I know that not everyone is going to agree with me and I readily accept that. I don't like Kate, and I know there are those of us on here that do, or are middle of the road, as I have tried to be. I guess its just hard when I say something about Kate, and then have a poster turn around and turn into a comment against themselves. And this isn't just me I'm talking about, I've seen it with other posters as well and I just get weary when I read posts like that. None of us on here should have to defend the way we feel. As you said, this AMERICA, and it is our right to say how what's on our minds. I just feel like on here, we should not really have to explain ourselves to anyone or defend our opinions. A little bit is fine, but it tends to go the extreme from time to time.

I hope that makes sense...
