Maybe she wasn't smiling because there wasn't many paps waiting for her and she had to wear a dress and couldn't show off her figure.

They were spotted in Wilmington Wed. having lunch and then eating ice cream. The waitress who called the radio station I listen to waited on them. She said Kate didn't order for herself or the kids! Steve did! She also said she thought Kate's eyes were going to roll out of her head, that she is a constant eye roller. The waitress also said they cleared a path and had an entrourage like she was royalty. Celebrities are in Wilimington all the time, and she had never seen such a production. She kept asking, "why two body guards" while she was talking to the dj's. The server went on to say the media had to have been alerted and allowed to photograph them on Bald Head, they would have never known they were there. There is no access by road, and no cars allowed on the island. No paparazzi at all was following them downtown Wilmington, but Kate was talking so loudly on the street outside the ice cream store, she thought she was trying to be noticed. The last thing I remember her saying is Kate made no eye contact with her, and didn't speak to her. She said the kids are tiny, and very cute!

the bolded part is the thing that gets me .. Kate must have some kind of mystic powers or something to make people think she's more than an actor on a cable TV reality show. George Clooney comes back to visit our hometown and doesn't create nearly the ruckus as Kate has on this trip!

Kate has become quite the fan of the low cut tops, I am not as endowed as Kate and I always feel like men are talking to my boo*s in tops cut like that. And she is in a dress that is not a cover up with a swimsuit under it, she has the kids dressed in clothing no swimsuits. Makes me want to go to the beach

Are you talking about the white dress in the photos? I don't see that Kate is wearing a bathing suit. I actually like that dress, I would wear that.

And everybody is so concerned for the kids, they have to call a radio station to say they waited on them, announce they heard them talking outside the ice cream store for attention (mind readers), etc. , and here is some dirt (according to the waitress). Of course it must have been hard for the waitress to know there was no pap following them and that Kate was talking loud to draw attention in front of the store. You would think she would have been in the store serving some of the crowd that they had to clear a path through LOL. And OMG..Steve ordered. Wow, that proves it, there must be an affair going on. I'm going to watch carefully who my husband orders for next time we take all the family out..he often orders for the group..and he often pays too. I want some advance notice, in case there is affair...after all we know what it means if you are the person ordering the ice cream

I see the ruckus being made by the paparazzi and the people calling into radio shows and magazines. What rukus do we know that she is making (come on Madge..you deal in facts, what do we know that is a fact that Kate is the one causing the ruckus LOL?)
So many want info, (even me sorry to say), that that is why the pap is going after her. The magazine racks at the check-out were almost empty today, all this junk is selling issues.
So what that the other body guard (if we believe the waitress that there were two) was not in any of the pictures. After all, everyone wants to believe she is having an affair with Steve, and it's not good to show another body guard, as that doesn't look as romantic LOL!

I like the dress also. I don't think there is a thing wrong with that white dress. It is a very cute dress. I also don't think she is big busted either. She looks so normal to me (except for those tail feathers in the back of her head, LOL).

Do people really think their faces in these photos are a reflection of if they are having a good time or not? I think one can take a walk around WDW and notice that people on vacation are not smiling constantly. These comments are so weird to me.

I went to Target yesterday. I bought some coffee and a book. I carried out my bag and decided I'd smile coming out of the store. It was just weird to put this smile on my face coming out of the store like a celebrity might be expected to do (or Kate). Honestly, I just don't think it is natural for someone to smile all the dang time. Joel Olstein (TV preacher) smiles constantly but that man is not normal I tell ya! LOL
I think people should take note and see if they are smiling while doing daily tasks.

well, not everyone is concerned for the kids. LOL .. I saw the waitress' interview as her 2 minutes of fame, it sounded like she was excited to be part of the story. the same thing happened (without local media exposure) when Kate was here, people talked about where they say her and how she acted .. and to a much bigger extent when Orlando Bloom was in town filming the movie, Elizabethtown. Now, THAT was a big deal around here .. I know the local media covered it pretty extensively, but I don't remember the paparazzi hanging around. They might have been in Lousiville, though. That's where they stayed during filming.

What I think is so sad about the break-up of J&K (and all parents for that matter) is the absolutely fabulous private times and private conversations you would have with your spouse over your kiddos. BRAG TIMES with your spouse about the children you have made together.

My kids are all grown up....but what I lived for as a parent when our boys were J&K's kids ages was saying to DH..."look what C just did" or "Let me tell you the funniest thing M said this morning" or "C has your laugh" or just us sitting there loving every minute of how thrilling it is having our children in our lives.

I think where all this is so new to the Gosselin's, realizing their marriage may be over, is the fact they cannot together watch as their children grow up AND laugh together as their children discover new things and are intrigued by everything.

I hope that did not sound corny but they both are missing so much and it is sad, very sad.

The waitress didn't hate Kate or the kids at all. The morning show was talking about them being in the area, and she'd had contact with them. That's exciting! She didn't seem concerned for the kids in the least, only relaying her experiences. I think it is very odd that the paid security is ordering for Kate and her kids, that seems close to me. Why does she need two body guards? Other celebs walk around all the time with their kids alone. If she is truly at the point she needs personal security because of the way people perceive her, doesn't that send a clear message? I hope it would to me.

Yes it is a dress, I said it was a dress not a cover up, she is not wearing a swimsuit under it, that was my point it is a dress. I am not a fan of that style of dress, umpire waist. If you are pregnant it is fine. I also do not like having that amount of my breast exposed during the day, I prefer not drawing attention to my breast. My face does just fine on it's own, anyone who gets that much of a view of my breast better be paying for dinner, my husband that would be.

Of course she's going to cause a ruckus .. at a minimum, she's a mom (in this case) with 6 children.. but then there are 2 bodyguards and a nanny, which makes them a party of 10. That's a ruckus, by my standards, LOLOL ... And if they're filming for the show? Adding in the camera crew, I'd say it becomes downright disruptive.

I'm just going on that waitress' quote about Kate and her entourage, and remembering back to her behavior here, as well as accounts posted all over the internet (and not just on hate blogs). The sum of all those parts suggest to me that Kate does exhibit diva-like behavior. I think that she likes the attention.

I find it odd that these pictures from Utah surfaced just after the episode from Utah. That was taped in March right? Gets the publicity going again for the show now doesn't it? Just more for all of us to discuss. I find most of this a PR stunt.

If Kate didn't have two bodyguards, I'm sure it would really look like her and Steve had a thing going (and maybe they do..I'm not privy to that info). How do we know other celebs don't have bodyguards? I didn't know Kate had one until the affair accusation came out. Now, looking back, I see she has had them for a long time. They even rode with the kids at one of the amusement parks. I never noticed that before. Maybe they are part body guards, and part babysitters. Hey, if she can afford them and wants to pay them, who am I to say she shouldn't. I'm sure by now they are friends, and I don't see anything wrong with friends ordering ice cream. Maybe they carry the money with them, or maybe they were looking to get extra points on the credit card. Who the heck knows LOL?

I don't care what she wears, when or if she smiles, what kind of celebrity she thinks she is, how she wears her hair or how she speaks to her DH.
I don't care about who he spends his nights with, what kind of personality he has, what kind of car he drives, or where he vacations or with whom.

What I do care about, and feel very very sad about...is why the hell those two parents continue to subject those poor children to the public ridicule during this clearly painful and difficult time. Especially Kara and Maddie. Those girls are old enough and smart enough to understand on some level that something is very wrong. Why do those two knuckleheads insist on making their family go through this under public scrutiny?????!!!!??? Every single time Kate says "everything i do is for my children" I just want to scream. Pull the plug on the show and let your family cope with whatever it is they need to cope with behind flippin closed doors. Not only do those children have to go through the pain of their Mom & Dads problems now, they will have to see it over and over again through the merciless public eye.

OK, this sentence is what I misunderstood. I thought you were saying she was in a dress, that was not a cover up, with a swimsuit underneath. I think Keggy and I both read this sentence the same way. I will do better from now on.

I think it's a bit unfair to say Oh they aren't having fun. No one is smiling. They are just walking. I don't always walk down the hall at work with a big ole smile on my face.

I caught a few minutes of Entertainment Tonight, last night .. they were talking about the drop in the ratings from week one to week two... and part of the story was an interview with a TV expert suggesting what Jon & Kate need to do in order to "amp up" the ratings. one of the things the guy said was that they needed to start showing the episodes in real time, essentially scrapping the other shows they've already filmed.

Well, it is reality and wasn't Kate the one who said they had to have the lighting and blinds installed in the previous house because they were shooting and editing things so quickly that it helped to not have to deal with the "light issues"??? I'm guessing that things have been shot and edited quickly in the past - why not now too??

The kids could be sad because they're going from one thing to another, it's almost nap time, they just got in trouble for hitting their sibling, it's almost time to go home, they miss Daddy/Mady/Cara/dogs/friends/school, whatever. Lots of reasons for unhappy faces unfortunetly!

I certainly hope the caller works at a restrurant that has all organic foods - as well as the ice cream store! (j/k!)

The fact is they are filming 40 shows for this season alone. Every day there is a good possibility there will be pictures of all the kids in the tabloids. It is time to sit back and let whatever happens to these kids happen, they are not mine.
