No, the most charity work (or even acknowleging that there are other people on the Earth other than themselves) that has been shown is them writing a check to the Ronald McDonald house where they stayed when the tups were in the hospital. And even that looked like Kate was under great duress doing it. She looked totally out of her comfort zone being the giver instead of the "poor" receiver. It was almost as if she was scared that if she showed she could give, that people would think she no longer needed to receive.

You do know that this was filmed a while ago, before the scandal? They are airing shows out of sequence. The pieces are all over the floor. Now, if you just like to watch and don't mind that there is very little reality in this 'reality' show, that's your right.

I did know that. I believe I said I enjoyed the two shows I saw last night. I don't know if last night was reality or if Jon or Kate cheating was reality. It was just nice to watch last nights shows. I thought all the kids benefited on those shows no matter what week they were taped. Mady got individual time..something hard to do with large families, and Jon did something that will help a charity in the long run. I love Duff's show and it was fun to watch. I didn't need to pick the shows or Kate and Jon apart..I just got to enjoy them.

I was surprised by how much disdain I had for Jon last night. He seemed like a child. It really disgusted me.

I'm sick of hearing about how he quit his job two years ago to stay home with the kids. Isn't that what Kate did for three years?

Yes but it was Kate's choice to stay home. As Jon has said several times. I like staying home with my kids. But it's something that was chosen for me. Now what he meant is up for interpretation. Some people say that means he really didn't quit but got fired, some people may believe that TLC wanted them to do more trips and you can't be gone every other week and hold down a regular (whatever that is ) job. Or you could be like me and choose to believe that Kate chose for him to stay home with the kids while she traveled. So fill in whatever you want. As I said it's up to interpretation.

Tonight's episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 (filmed in March before Us Weekly broke the news of their marital troubles) showed Kate Gosselin spending her 34th birthday with just her kids.

Where was her husband Jon?

"I went out to Utah for, like, five days," he says. "I just wanted to get back out there and ride with my friends. It just happened to fall on Kate's birthday."

Not shown on camera: Deanna Hummel, the 23-year-old teacher with whom Jon had a three-month affair. A source confirmed to Us Weekly they were together at a Spring Gruv party at The Canyon in Utah on Kate's March 28 birthday.

Back home in Pennsylvania, the kids surprised Kate with a trip to Charm City Cakes, which is featured on the Food Network show Ace of Cakes.

I wondered about this while I was watching the show last night. If he really was away with his girlfriend on his wife's birthday I think that just shows that he is truly done with this marriage.

Did someone say, Kate's birthday was March 28th, which was a Saturday.
Kate thanked Duff and Charm City crew, for opening on a Saturday. I just thought it was nice that Kate made the comment, but then I thought, she probably did it, because people are starting to question all the outings and if they are taking the kids out of school or missing school.

The receptionist-I don't know her name, made a comment also, that they all watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 and she said it was "so real" . I'm sure they can't comment on anything, but it was still funny to see Kate have a slight melt-down, when the kids were all eating the sugar and Kate was shaking. On the couch, she re-inerated again, how the kids were all schlurping sugar frosting. Then in the end, they all ate cake again. Or do you think, they ate the cake in the beginning, but edited it, to make it look like they ate it at the end.


Jon-I think he is going to have an excuse for everything now.
I think we all have to accept, that he said he doesn't want to be
Jon and Kate Plus 8, he wants to be Jon, so he probably won't be filmed to often with the family anymore. Look at Memorial Weekend, another time off from the family.

You do realize that there's very little reality in most reality shows, right? Even news shows (20/20, 60 Minutes) edit stories to suit their needs.

Many pages ago there was a link to a local tv station, I think in Denver where Jon gave a interview. He was very relaxed and happy. Do we think this was taped while he was on his snowboard weekend?

I believe that was taped in the beginning of January. It is rumored that he started his affair with the 23 year old teacher in mid January. It weird to watch the video and see how happy and content he was at that time and then to read about this affair.

Does anyone else find it disturbing that they have filmed 100+ shows in a little over 2 1/2 years? The first official episodes started filming around September of 2006. That is a lot.

Does anybody know when the end of season 4 was taped? The one where at the end when they were talking about whether or not there would be a seaon 5 Jon said "we'll see." I'm wondering how much time there was between the taping of that and the taping of his apology and denial of cheating on Kate.

I think Kate has had botox and restylene done on her face, esp restylene.

It is obvious to me that she is having fill injections especially around her laugh lines, which is pretty funny to me given how much Kate laughs....

Kate sure does looooooovvvvvveee the spa so I am sure she has had every treatment available to her. Between the nails, hair (which drives me nuts), tummy tuck, dental work, tanning, work outs, etc. She sure spends a lot of time on herself for someone with eight small children.....

This morning while dropping my kids off with the nanny, a lady was walking down the sidewalk in her development. She had on a bright floral print shorts outfit and a short hair cut. DS4 saw her and started screaming "stop Mommy! Stop!! You have to stop!" I couldn't figure out where the fuss was coming from. I finally got him to listen to me and tell me why we had to stop - "because that's KATE mommy! I want to talk to KATE mommy!!". Poor kid thought Kate Gosselin was walking down the sidewalk! I tried to explain but he wasn't hearing it at all. So, as it worked out, she was walking past the house as we were getting out. DS4 ran up to her and said "Hi Kate! I love you and the plus 8". Poor woman had no clue what he was talking about!! I just apologized and she smiled and went on her way....

It's a lot of episodes. When you compare seasons 1+2 to seasons 4+5, there's a big difference in the number of them. 40 episodes is crazy to me. Actually ANY episodes right now is crazy to me since their marriage is falling apart. I realize they are under contract but I wonder if they even tried to get out of it, you know? Or at the very least asked to film fewer episodes?

I'm pretty sure the pictures came out the weekend after Valentine's Day. The last show of the Season was the first weekend in March. So they had 2 weeks from the first round of pictures, to when Jon announced he didn't know about taping anymore.
But Kate mentioned in last weeks interview, that she has been dealing with the situation for 6 months or even longer~~which doesn't necessarily mean Jon was cheating, but she knew he was unhappy.

I think she could have possibly had something like botox done but no type surgery. I think makeup can totally change and polish your look. It does hers too. I have now seen enough pics of her to see the difference.
I think the weight loss has changed her look, the tanning makes her face appear slimmer too. She's just an attractive "ordinary" looking woman IMO. Far from model perfect but for an "everyday person", she's very pretty and always has been.

My self being very aware of the deadly consequences of skin cancer, I really question Kate's tanning. I am sure people will procalim it is a spray on, none the less there are probably some people out there who see Kate as a role model and will try to be as tan as she. I would think as a mother and a nurse her obsessive tanning is not an example she would want to set for her children. You do not have to be faired skin to get skin cancer.

I agree, I don't think she's had surgery, but Botox wouldn't surprise me.

I thought the one magazine cover that showed Kate with the short dark hair, next to a picture of her now was silly. They said themselves that picture was taken right after she had the sextuplets...of course she wasn't going to look so hot. She is an attractive ordinary woman, good way to put it. Look at her pictures from her wedding and her honeymoon, those are more the "real" Kate than the picture taken after the sextuplets were born.

Apparently you ARE knocking Kate for doing these things. I was a single working mom in the military and found time to exercise and do all those other things too...it's all about your priorities and not gaining weight is a big priority to me!

No, I was not knocking Kate. I can see that no matter how much explaining I do, my explanations are not going to make anyone happy. So let's just all agree to disagree and forget it.

Good for you that you find time to exercise. Gosh, I don't begrudge anyone who does that. Wouldn't that be ridiculous if I did???? My point was in regard to Kate's image, not necessarily her "exercising".

I agree. Several of us here have said Kate is darned if she does, darned if she doesn't. If she says it's for her kids, someone comments on that. If she doesn't, someone will say, doesn't appear it's for her kids. If she takes one child out, shame on her for not being home when one gets hurt. If she's out working (which was 52 days in the past year, she again mentioned she did not go out for Mmulitple Blessings, less time than a mom working from home would have been out of the house), she doesn't spend enough time with her kids. If she's home and goes to the store, shame on her for not being in her house. If she is now getting up in the morning (maybe because she is no longer up in the middle of the night with babies) people want to know why can she suddenly get up in the morning, and how does she have time to exercise during that time. There is nothing that Kate can do, that will please some people.
I enjoyed both of these shows last night (which I watched this morning). I thought it was good that that Kate mentioned they were gone for four days, but only let them tape for one. It was great for Mady. I thought it was a great surprise, no matter who planned it, that she got to go to Duff's for her birthday. My family would have loved the opportunity to do that for me. I also enjoyed watching Jon at home with the kids. I thought he looked like he was enjoying it..something I haven't thought for awhile. I'm glad he got out to ski, and was able to not be recognized. They were good shows IMO, and it was nice to see everyone laughing so much. I like to watch TV and enjoy it, not watch pieces break apart.

I think that the reason it seems like Kate is darned if she does, darned if she doesn't is because so many of us on here have such a vast difference of opinion. Where one person says its okay, another might not think so. So since all of us here post our opinion, I can see where it comes off "darned if she does, darned if she doesn't". But its really not like that all.

We're all just very opinionated here!!!!

I will admit I have not watched J&K+8 much at all....but I was curious as to how this season would play out with all the discussions lately on their relationship.....

Anyway, I think those kiddos are adorable. Age 5yo is so cute.

Was this the first time J&K had a child sit between them OR do they do that often?

I was concerned about no helmuts on the kiddos while riding their bikes or on that motorized bike Cara was driving around.

Do all the kiddos have BROWN eyes...it appears to me that Jon & Kate have blue or blue-ish gray eyes.

Why did Jon pick the week of Kate's bday to go to Utah?
