I caught the end of one of the shows today, the one where the get the dogs, and I saw all the younger kids in highchairs but Hannah. Now isn't she the favorite one? I know I am reading more into it but it just seems odd to me that she is the only younger kid that can sit in a regular chair.
Yes, I agree but just because that was the way it WAS doesn't mean it is that way now. 6 months agao I didn't get up and jump on the treadmill either. I think we can take one look at Kate and see she is exercising somewhere, sometime. You just don't wake up one day and look like she does--tummy tuck or not.
That's all I'm suggesting. Man, y'all don't seem to understand that things change in people's lives. I think at one time Jon was really into his family and kate. Not so much anymore. Things change. Kate keeps saying everything is "for the kids" (and well, he does too but we know that is not true either). I don't think everything Kate does is for the kids anymore. I think that has been their pat answer and they have continued to give it but the reality is, they aren't fooling anyone anymore.
It sounds good (for the kids...) but it really does not appear to be truth.
I think what Madge was trying to say (and correct me if I'm wrong Madge) was that at one time, Kate's appearance wasn't as important as it seems to be now. She was not a morning person before, but now she gets up at 5 am to keep herself in shape.
I believe it is to keep up her "celebrity" appearance. Look at her now, she is completely tanned, manicured nails to perfection, high heels and mini skirts, leather jackets, perfect hair, blah, blah blah. Not that I begrudge anyone that, but her priorities are different now, it seems.
It seems to me like they are sit in those chair someone posted not to long ago that those highchairs are just regulars chairs now.
This was not that long ago, when the got the dogs. It looked like they were sitting in the wooden kind you get at a resteraunt. I knew it had been talked about, so I was just wondering if the special child was only allowed to and not the other ones.

She might have became a morning person when Jon left. I have seen lots and lots of pic of Kate wedding video and the honeymoon video to Disney she has all been a high maintence person
I agree. Holy cow, I'm lucky to wash my hair (I'm a stay at home Mom and homeschool) and get a shower in much less tan, get my nails done and forget about getting up at 5:00am!Her priorites are different, most Moms of young children I know don't look like that...who goes to Target in a mini skirt and heels? Not a 34 year old Mom, at least that I'm aware of where I live...
Most people tend to look good for their wedding photos/videos right? That's the one time you really want to be sure you look good. The honeymoon videos/pics she looked normal...hair in a messy ponytail and shorts with a shirt. Compared to now, well, it's obvious (to me) that she is working hard to keep her image up because she is on TV and followed by the paps. For the record, I have no problem with looking good. I wish I looked good more often actually! I'm just saying that Kate seems to be 2 extremes. Look at the Hollywood celebs, they always look good because they know people will be following taking pictures.
This isn't directed to only you, but to everyone that thinks J&K for whatever reason chose Hannah as their favorite I mean really, do you really think that? Do you have a favorite child of your own? I mean I suppose ppl. may have a certain child they get along with better than the others, but really would you say that you play favorites with one of your children? I would certainly hope that I don't, and I don't think I do, but for those of you that think Kate does, do you? We need to remember that Kate is a mom just like the rest of us. I highly doubt she's some evil mom trying to play favorites with her favorite child. There could be many reasons why Hannah may or may not have been sitting in the high chair that day, or why she may or may not have gotten to eat her cupcake at the 4th b-day episode if she did or did not eat her dinner, or why she has her own room in the new house. I really don't think it has anything to do with them playing favorites, they're all their kids for goodness sakes, and I'm sure just like any other mom on here, she loves her kids all the same.
I think that Kate said in Multiple Blessings that she has an special bond with Hannah. That may have brought on the speculation. I know she has said on the show that "Hannah needs me more."

----------------------That's interesting, I suppose it is like a taste of her own medicine since she doesn't get to choose whether or not she wants the paps in her face taking pictures, etc. I really wonder what the kids think about the show...I remember Mady's no camera sign on her door and wonder how many of the others feel that way?
As far as editing goes, Kate said on Larry King Live that TLC does the editing and that she has no control over it unless it pertains to the kids and is something she's not comfortable with. That made me wonder if she and Jon view the completed footage before it's aired? If so, how can she have been OK with all her little kids vomiting and laying on the floor sick or the time Jon had to help Collin "manually" with his constipation? Or how about the numerous times poor Mady has had a meltdown? I just can't imagine allowing my kids to be filmed like that.
And I'm going to say again, J&K are making a lot of $ per episode in a time where people are losing their jobs, houses, healthcare, etc. Seriously in one maybe 2 episodes they make more than most people make in an entire year. It's just ridiculous to me that we should feel like they NEED the show in order to live. If they couldn't afford the new house (which I think they could) then why buy it? Speaking of the new house, it was purchased by their lawyer so you know that the house is most likely in J&K's corporation's name. Kate is no fool and I'm sure researched the ins and outs of setting up a corporation and what they can get from it.

Wonder how many DISer's here have video taped their own children in scenarios such as the bolded part - to add to their "happy childhood memories" for their children to be able to look back on in later years (as well as the rest of the world to see now)?? I'm guessing not many.. Kate has mentioned on a number of occasions that the kids "love" watching the videos of their show, so I'm assuming they have seen that footage already.. Wonder if they also saw that lovely Season 5 premiere??
As long as it's a source of income though - "for" the children - I guess that makes it okay..![]()
I can honestly say I have no videos of my vomiting child or manually helping him poop! But I do have him melting down a time or two! I wanted him to see that when he got older. I thought it would be cute for him to see.![]()
I called this one! Woo-Hoo for me.![]()
Well ther you go, they are good friends. That explains the b**b job and any other nips and tucks. Always good to have doctors or lawyers in the inner cirlce, $avings.
