Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread-Part 4

I did not watch the episode but saw that part on "The Soup" and "Best Week Ever" this weekend, both which were very funny IMOP. I agree with the above poster he just looked spent, like I am done put a fork in me. That was my take, I don't know if he was drunk, I don't think so but, who knows? If he was in fact drunk I would really think that would be beyond sleezy of TLC to let him go on intoxicated.

Those interviews are taped in their home, I quite doubt he would show up drunk around the kids on a taping day.

I doubt this also, but seriously, this is Jon we're talking about. Who would have thought he'd have his picture splashed all over the front of every magazine in the world talking about a possible scandal???

Nobody knows but Jon....but since this is the Jon & Kate thread, we're all welcome to speculate! :upsidedow

Sorry if this is already posted. That is Ashley, Carla's daughter with them. She at one time worked for the Gosselins through Nannies for Hire. What is Jon thinking (the article)? Are the twins finished with school? I bet they have or are buying a house in the Bald Head/Southport area. This is nowhere (geographically) near the outer banks where they were last summer. Very nice area.

Man if they are buying a home there that makes 4 right, the big new house, the old house that has not sold, the place in Utah and now a beach house. If it is true, maybe I underestimated in my mind how much they are making? I was thinking, ALOT, lol.

The kids attend a private school, and they are probably finished. Private schools, don't have to be compliant with their state. So they are probably finished.

In another photo that was posted of them getting off the ferry, don't we see the other bodyguard? They are constantly cutting the other one out of photos to make it look like something is going on.

Scandal-plagued pair Jon and Kate Gosselin’s may be headed for a nasty $10 million divorce, reports National Enqurier.

“Jon said their goal is to be legally separated by July 15 because Kate wants to move on quickly,” an insider reveals. “Jon is going to push for half of their money, but Kate is determined to hang on to as much as she can — and they’re worth more than you think… Needless to say, there’s a small fortune at stake here — easily $10 million. And Jon and Kate will be fighting over it like cats and dogs!”

TLC says it has plans to renew Jon & Kate Plus 8, which kicked off its fifth season on Monday to a record 9.8 million viewers - more than double the show’s previous series high.

“The show’s ratings have grown consistently, as there has been interest in these real-life issues of this real-life family,” TLC said in a statement to E! News. “We will continue to air as the interest continues, and the family wants to do it.”

Question: Everything I've read (that I can recall) it saying the they (the PA child labor people) received a written complaint. What's the process for filing a complaint does anyone know? I'm curious because I'm thinking if it were an easy process the they'd have gotten many by this time. Maybe it's a long and involved one or there's something to back this one up??? Something's just got me stuck on the investigating the complaint stuff that's surfaced....I just can't figure out what it is.

Written compliant=paper trail.

Written compliant=paper trail.

That I understand - I do as much as I can via email or some type of written response in "real life" to cover my own tail. :thumbsup2 I was just curious if it was hard to file a written complaint or if it was something more simple. I would think if it were simple, they would have had more than one complaint in the course of the show. I'm guessing that it's going to be something a little more "in depth" or you have to provide some kind of proof or something along with the complaint that someone on the "outside" couldn't provide....just curiosity on my part, that's all. :goodvibes

one of the blogs said school had not dismissed .. I can't remember which one, though. I got the impression they'd be getting out soon, though.

who knows if that's accurate or not.

After all the hype, they may have taken them out and that is why they are on this trip to NC. They maybe trying to keep the kids away from all the crazyness.

a note on my timeline from recent episodes ... I did a (very) little blog reading today and some of the posters at GWoP aren't sure when the trip to San Diego for the spa day took place. Apparently the weather in PA doesn't jive with when Kate went a few weeks ago to plug the book. They're thinking it could have been earlier than that - around the time they went to California and had dinner at Mr. Chow's. Someone over there knew that Jon came back to PA with the kids, but maybe Mady stayed behind.

how those people know so much is mind-boggling to me... I mean, a lot of it's speculation or not hard to put together, but the travel schedules and stuff. Where/how do they even find it?

Puffkin would probably know home values, since she lives in the same area as the Gosselins. But according to Zillow, it's overpriced:

I live in the same county that the Gosselins old home is in. Most of the homes in their neighborhood are valued in the low to mid $200,000 range for an avg 2000 sq ft home. The Gosselin's home is almost 3500 sq ft and the sale price is $325,000.
There are laws for a reason, and The View, Barbara Walters and Whoopie both brought up Child Actor laws - and reality tv does not have to follow the law...

the law (specifically Barbara asked Days of our Lives which tapes in the same area?) is 2 days a week no more than 6 hours...
Are you saying that Days of Our Lives is filmed in the same area that the Gosselin's live? If that's the case, that's news to me. I've lived here my whole life and have never heard that before.

Are you sure? I've never heard that before. All the private schools I attended in PA were compliant with state regulations. But, as long as the school has met the minimum 180 day length of school year, they can end when they want. The public schools in this area have the last day of school anywhere between June 5th and 15th. Since most of the private schools use public school transportation, they try to begin and end school at the same time as the public schools.

I thought the picture of Kate and the kids in NC was taken during the Memorial Day weekend. Does anyone know?

I can't find the poster who said it, but IF their net worth is really $10 million then they could absolutly invest it very conservativly and easily make 5% a year on their money, even in this economy. 5% on $10M is $500,000 a year. That is still a pretty comfortable life. If they could get 10%, which isn't unrealistic, they would be at $1 million a year.

No. Barbara Walters asked people at Days of our Lives about child actors' laws because Days of Our Lives is filmed near where The View is filmed.
