No, I don't think either on of them is hirable today. But I'm just saying that everyone says they couldn't make it on their salaries and that's just not true.

They could stop stop the show. Lay low for a couple of years. Maybe go back to school to freshen up their skills. Then when all this mess settles down go back to "regular" jobs. Although I think she could keep doing the lectures and make plenty of money to support them (in a reasonable lifestyle). I have a girlfriend who has adopted 7 children. Her husband is a pastor. After she adopted the last one she went back to school and got her masters. She is now is a counslor and goes on speaking engagements to churches, moms clubs ect to earn extra money.

They should have enough money put away at this point where the money can work for them. Here is an interesting fact, if you can purchase a McDonalds franchise you are guaranteed a million dollar a year profit, McDonalds are not cheap to buy and they are pretty strict where they will allow one, McDonalds that is, to be built. They want you the franchise owner to be succesful so they in turn remain succesful. J&K easily could buy that type of franchise and have plenty of money to live.

I was not questioning if they did or did not put money away, I was giving an example of a way to make money if they chose not to continue with ther program.

Okay, the size of the house. There was nothing wrong with the size of the other house. They had two HUGE bedrooms upstairs and the twins big bedroom in the bonus room over the garage, two bedrooms downstairs with living room, big eat in kitchen and laundry room big enough for two washers and two dryers. Plenty of bathrooms. They had a double car garage and a really big yard. The basement was huge and obviously very useable. That is a great house. It is actually very well laid out for a large, young family. The 2900 sq. feet listed probably doesn't include the twins' bedroom because it was accessible only through another bedroom (we had this issue with an attic bedroom) and may not include downstairs if it isn't part of the main hvac system.

There new house seems like a safety hazard to me with the twins room being accessible by its own staircase and not part of the rest of the upstairs. I would have lost my kids when they were all little in that house and property! The three boys are sharing a much smaller bedroom than they were before. Kids pile up, they don't spread out. More space is not what kids need when they are little. Trust me I've been there. Have you all noticed how the other families on Kids by the Dozen live? The Gosselins did not need that 6000? sq. foot house. They wanted it, and that's fine. I have not ever heard that TLC bought it. I heard it was purchased in a trust which is not a bad idea at all.

As far as someone saying they didn't seek out people locally to interview who like them and know them? I don't think there are any. Everyone says their friends, family, church family, college friends, former employees, former employers, former co-workers, etc. don't speak on their behalf because they "don't want to get involved." Well it is time. They need someone who loves them to be on their side. I can't imagine how lonely Kate must feel even though she is surrounded by people.

There are laws for a reason, and The View, Barbara Walters and Whoopie both brought up Child Actor laws - and reality tv does not have to follow the law...

the law (specifically Barbara asked Days of our Lives which tapes in the same area?) is 2 days a week no more than 6 hours...

Nurse Angela Krall told the magazine that the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star is a perfectionist that left "demeaning" signs in each room detailing house rules and even fired one of the nurses for washing her hands in the kitchen and not the bathroom.

"Kate flipped," Krall told the magazine. "She thought it was cross-contamination."

In the Post article, she says Kate is difficult to get on with and commands people do do things. Seems consistent with what she told Us Weekly.... especially since they're such short quotes.

That's funny. I felt so sorry for the people that sold that house to Jon and Kate, she went on and on about how filthy it was.

What is wrong with the current kitchen? It is beautiful with brand new appliances. If they are having it done while they are out of town it isn't being done for episodes of the show.

Things have changed alot since Nurse Krall was in their house. Heck, things have changed alot in the last few months.

I had posted this a while back my neighbor was on "It's me or the Dog" last fall. It was so much fun watching the entire process of filming. I was prancing my own dogs out front wanting to kind of show off how good mine were, Anyway, they filmed from 8 in the am till 10pm, 7 days straight to get the footage for a one hoour show, they had come out a few weeks before and after to do follow up and intro. stuff. Just watching that was very insightful to see how much work there is doing one hour of reality tv. They had to shoot reshoot, differnet angles. I can certainly see how there not being laws to dictate how many hours can be shot need to be adressed. Funny though how are they conducting an investigation into breaking laws when there are no laws on the books for reality tv, just for professional child actors, hmmm?
