Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread-Part 3

I wonder if he just can't handle Kate telling him what to do all the time and how to do it right. As a child, my Dad always told my sister and I that we were stupid or morons and honestly to this day, I have the worst self-esteem. It makes my DH crazy because I second guess my abilities and he (my DH) being the awesome man he is, constantly tells me that I am capable.

I'm so sorry you had to feel and go through that but I know just what you mean. It's not easy to go through and takes forever to "undo" (if that's ever possible!).


Will Kate's blog be something that's kept up or was it a one time thing?? Just curious.

I believe I am better then Kate. I have my faults yes, but I would never allow my kids to be part of this and I would never put my fame before my family, so yes I am better then Kate and I am not ashamed to admit it.

I thought last night's show was sad. I'm not a huge fan of Kate, but I felt sorry for her. Yes, maybe it was all an act, if so, it worked on me. I thought Jon was pretty hostile and very immature. I've always thought that about Jon though. Yes, Kate pushes him around, but at the same time he seems the type that needs lots of direction. For all Jon's whining, you sure don't see him turning down any of the perks. Does he think he'd be able to have a sportscar, a motorcycle and a condo in Salt Lake without the show? I don't believe for a second that Jon really wants to go to work everyday, I think what he really wants is to stay home without the responsibility of maintaining it and watching the kids. He thinks of himself as a cool party guy and he wants that lifestyle WITH all the extras he gets from the show.

Does Kate have some serious issues? Yep, she she sure does, but she is not as reckless as Jon. Jon is mad because he got caught and is being forced to take the heat.

It is sort of ironic that the Orange County Choppers, "The Tuttle's" are doing a show with Jon and Kate and family. Maybe Kate is buying a "chopper for Jon". The Tuttle's, usually deliver the bike in person, so I'm wondering who is going to get a bike.

But does anyone watch "Orange County Choppers"? Paul Sr. has fired Paul Jr. from the shop. They have tried counseling, and neither one can change their ways or habits. They miss each other, but they cannot work with each other. Paul Sr. has continued with the show, even though he supposeable has retired.
Paul Sr. and Jr. argue and fight horribly on past shows, yet these two don't have blogs, papparazi following them. As of now, they are estranged from each other. Paul Jr. is opening a bougtique store for his wife. I don't know why he don't open his own shop, but I'm guessing it has to do with something.

One thing I noticed in the taping of the park birthday party was that none of the parents had cameras. There was a guy walking around taking photos, but the parents were just standing around. Maybe this was part of the agreement for coming to the party. Also, if they didn't want to be bothered by the papparazi, why didn't they film it at their home. They have plenty of room for the bounce houses and could of put up a tent if necessary.
I think that Jon has been living apart since the time he claims to have stayed to take care of his mother's broken foot. Maybe this was the reason to have the party at the park--neutral territory. That trip to Party City was just another product promotion for freebies. She claims they haven't been to a store in months and next thing she has to take them alone to plan their birthday party??
This was a sad episode indeed. Money is the root of all evil and obviously it comes before saving this family!!!

I think that the picture says that Joel- I'm pretty sure that's the sextuplet that is standing there, can't even lead a normal life. THIS is normal to them?! THAT is normal to NO ONE. It doesn't matter if the crew is just standing there, talking, or having a cup of coffee or something. He must be thinking, "Man, I wish i could just ride my stinking bike." I think the show is wonderful & has helped the family BUT, at some point, I think they need to cut their ties with it. I mean, they must have more than enough money now to take care of them. DVDs, books, TLC sponsers, etc. They are well- taken care of. If they are so concerned w/ taking care & being there for their family, they will jump ship with the show.

See ya' later show. It was fun while it lasted, then it wasn't anymore. & When it isn't fun for anyone, it is time to leave. I mean, a little kid can't even ride his bicycle in his own drive way because crew is everywhere around his house. Sad.

How do we know Jon didn't come to her months ago and ask for her to stop traveling as much, ask to stop the show? Why is Jon always the one at fault? I don't think he is the greatest Dad alive, but you have to give him some credit.

It seems to me that Kate got a taste of the celebrity life and she doesn't want to give that up for anything, not even her marriage. She likes the spotlight, the traveling, all the perks. She got a taste of what it is to be away from the kids and she likes that and doesn't want it to stop.

We don't. We don't know a lot of things. I'm not saying Jon is always at fault. I think 1/2 the blame lies with Kate. Unless Jon cheated. then he more blame from me because cheating never OK no matter who you are, period.

Ok have you watched this show??? Do you know how much c*&^ he would have had to have heard had he told Kate No I want to work and not stay home and be your whipping boy??? If you have watched more than 1 episode of Jon & Kate you should know that Kate is like a dog with a bone and won't let anything go until she gets what she wants. She can outlast anyone!

Yes, I have watched this show. A lot. Please don't insult me that way---why would I be posting if I didn't watch the show??

Whipping boy? Please. If Jon had the guts to stand up to her and be a man, she'd have backed off a long time ago. Should it take that? Nope. But as I have said many times, this has snowballed on them. It may have started out as poking fun and little digs on each other (which he used to laugh and even say he enjoyed ) and has turned into downright nastiness on both of their accounts.

And if he was abusive to her would that be her fault too? She is aggressive and he is passive aggressive.... believe me, he gives as good as he gets- he's just sneakier about it.

Amen to that. After watching again all weekend, Jon is just as mean as Kate is.

Everyone keeps saying that Jon has "checked out". I think Kate has also. She didn't say that she wants to work on the marriage - all she said is that she is here for her kids.

Jon did say in the last season finale that he was done with this and it sounded that he would be happy if the show ended - she said that she loves what she does and it sounded like she had no intentions of ending the show.

I'm not a Jon supporter - I don't support the cheating - if he did. I also don't support Kate either. She really seems like she is in this all for the wrong reasons anymore. At first it was about recording their life for the kids sake so they would have videos. I can't honestly think that what was shown last night was what they would want their kids to see.

My comment is on the bolded part. Jon said he was here for his kids. Kate said she was here. Big difference imho.

I think it is both. Jon wanted the weekend away and she said he was unexpectedly away. I think she thought he'd be there to pepare for the kids' birthday party. I do not think this is an all or nothing stated (lie) I think their communication is bad enough that this will continue to happen if they don't really work on it.

Ok before I say what I want to say I need to stipulate somethings.

1) No I did not watch the show last night. I think they need to stop filming and deal with their life, so that was my little protest. I only have seen what was on GMA this morning and the clips that were out promoting the show.

2) I am putting on my flame retardent clothes

I feel like Kate is a master manipulator. She cried when being interviewed. But then you see her on the back of Paul Sr. chopper looking at the paparazzi smiling. She's joking with Emeril. Smiling while leaving Target. Come on I have had friend who have had their marriages fall a part and other life altering tradiges and they look miserable all the time. I feel that if she cried during the interview it was to try and gain sympathy. Maybe everyone will run out and get Team Kate T-shirts.

As far as Jon being miserable as the SAHP. Are we surprised??? No As a SAHM I know at first it's fine but then one day you wake up and realize that you are no longer you, your just A's mom. You've lost your identity. Now lets face it with a man their identy is wrapped up in what they do. How many times does guy A meet guy B and the first question out of his mouth is, "what do you do for a living?"

Ok rant over. I'm hitting the showers.

i didn't know all this. how sad. I bet Paul JR had some sort of clause that he signed saying he wouldn't open another shop or do another show or something.
Oh and who would follow Paul SR around with a camera? I bet they all too afraid of him!!

Ok, picture it - You have EIGHT kids - a husband that makes probably about $60-$80 a year, your not working, and you have to worry about feeding and keeping a roof over your huge families heads. Now all of the sudden, someone shows up on your doorstep offering you $25,000 - $75,000 per week, plus you get all the perks, and you know that other things my come from this, like you writing a book, etc. Your telling me that you wouldn't give it a second thought? That you know what could come from it (paparazzi and negative press), but you know (hope and pray is more like it) your better, and stronger than the rest, and you will come through this with flying colors, etc. No one is better than anyone else, and you don't know whats going on till your in their shoes, so don't be so small minded as to say that your better than anyone. You don't really know what you would say/do untill your there.

Did anyone already mention that Jon was obviously medicated, hung over, or both during much of the interview parts? I can spot it a mile away. This only adds to the sad equation that makes up this family. I just don't think they can possibly go on with the show, can they? Did anyone notice Kate referred to being chased by the paparazzi as "moving up a notch"? She feels she's reached stardom. Why are Kate's people again insulting our intelligence by posting "her" blog? It's obviously not her writing it...give us a break please!
What beautiful children those babies have become. They also seem very sweet; I'm not just referring to physical appearance! Mady and Cara too are gorgeous, but seemed sad, anxious, something. They are ALL aware of turmoil to some degree.

If Jon is the SAHP, then when would he have time to go back to school? Just wondering, because as a SAHM, I don't see myself having time until the kids are in school full time, 5 days a week.

How can Kate hold the family together when she is gone 5 days a week? By phone calls? Just wondering what you meant by that?

When Jon was explaining his situation, I didn't see it as a whoa is me story. Kate has been all over People magazine telling her side, while Jon has kept quiet. He was getting his side out there. He even said last night "This is something private between me and Kate" while Kate just kept talking about all of their personal problems to the world.

Kate told him to go back to school. There is such a thing as babysitters and nannies. They could both easily get nannies while she is working and he is going to school or working. If it meant him being a happier person therefore happier parent then you make those sacrafics. Everyone is not cut out to be a SAHP. Kate can hold the family together while working. She would obviously have to cut back. She would need help. Fact remains she will need the income of this show to support her family if Jon is totally checking out. I am not saying it's an ideal situation. I for one would not do it but I can't say I wouldn't given the opportunity if I had 8 children to support. Kate is being public about it because it's her way. Jon is not because he is the one who got caught. He could barely defend himself.

OMG - You didn't seriously just say that!! Unless your are the prescribing Dr, you know nothing. He didn't look "high" to me at all, just a worn out guy who didn't want to be infront of a camera anymore.
