not me. I haven't and I won't.

I can't watch it either. I have removed all episodes from the tivo....I taped them but never watched last year at all. I won't watch tomorrow. I feel like it's exploiting the kids. I'll catch up here!

I'm not trying to be snarky...but unless you have a ratings box, how is that different?

Hello all. Just wanted to subscribe and I have a great deal of reading to do if I am to catch up.

I have been watching the marathon a bit ... I missed a lot of last season and I'm sorta sad - because with all the media and events - I was curious if any of it was "picked up" by the show... I mean - was it obvious that Jon wasn't coming home? Or is that all bogus media crap?

I'm still not 100% sure he's cheated... I tend to not believe the tabloids... although clearly some strange behavior was going on... not being in total denial either...

I guess I'm just sad for those kids and Kate - not that she's an angel - but she is and always has been committed to her children. I cannot even IMAGINE her life... oh well, my 2 cents...

Hi I am new here. I have been watching the marathon all weekend on TV. The episode yesterday where Kate's sister's husband was helping Jon paint the kids room. I have never seen them since. Do they still talk to her family?

The original TV specials: I've never seen them, does anyone know if they'll be aired this weekend? If so, what time? I've looked through the schedule for tonight and tomorrow and nothing is standing out as being the originals. :confused3 I probably missed them again. lol

As an aside, I do have the marathon on in the background. I really hope this family gets back on track. After seeing a bit here and there of these older episodes...I don't know...I feel like they definitely could do that, if that's where they decide to direct their efforts. ::yes::

TLC 8/9 Central I believe but check your local listings. The are showing a one hour special I believe or summer new schedule. I've got my DVR set for it... I too hope and pray they work on their marriage - those kids deserve their committment.:wizard:

unless a person calls the phone number to request blocking of all of their data from tivo (what's recorded, when it's actualy viewed, what you've fast forwarded through or deleted after partial viewing...) it's all uploaded into their system which creates data reports they can and do sell to advertisers and market researchers (like neilson). even if a person just records a show and ends up deleting it can create a positive figure for the market share of that show (not as high as if they actualy view it, but it still counts).

Welcome to the thread. There are so many links and answers to your questions many pages back. A tabloid has Kate's brother, who is married to Jodi have a 3 part video out and they are saying Jon came to them and told them Kate told Jon the marriage is over.

Wecome to the thread.

Kate wrote the book. that's what she said in her speech here. there is no mention of Beth or Jon helping.
Like I said, I've never seen her deny that Beth was a part of the book they wrote together in any of the interviews (when you saw her, she was still selling just the first book?). It would be pretty hard for her to tell a crowd that she is the solo writer, when the other names are on the cover. If she were giving a speech I could see that she would say, when I was writing the book..etc etc. She is considered one of the writers of the book, even if she didn't put pen to ink. There would have been no book without her.
Did she say that she wrote the book by herself (the one with Beth), or was she just talking about herself at the time, and there was no point to mentioning Beth? Until I hear Beth say, from her own lips that she felt that Kate was denying Beth helped write the book, I think it's just semantics (I think that is the right word I'm looking for.

Just wanted to say that the guide on my TV lists tomarrow's episode as going to 10:13 now; with the cake boss starting @ 10:15. Guess there's too much to fit it all in only an hour!

I guess my point was how is it any better to get the dirt here than it is to watch the show?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/may/24/northernireland-health-sextuplet-dunamore

A couple in Northern Ireland have just had sextuplets, the first set in Irish history. Apparently they were conceived naturally and the couple initially thought they were expecting twins. They don't want any publicity.

I also found this story from a couple of years ago, I guess this couple were wanting some of the J&K freebies!

:scared1: I can't believe that couple that faked sextuplets! Talk about stupid, what were they going to do when her due date came and no babies? :sad2:

If you look at the cover of Multiple Blessings, Jon and Kate Gosselin are listed first and under them is Beth Carson. For people not as familiar with the show (unlike all of us here on the thread!) they probably have no idea who Beth is or what her contribution to the book was. Kate's no fool, she set up the speaking engagements for that book with (I'm speculating) no intention of giving Beth credit. Does anyone with a copy of this book know if there's any acknowledgement inside to Beth as writer? I never bought it.

Madge heard her speak so I trust what she says...that Kate said she wrote it. I'm sure in her mind (Kate's) that she thinks she did since it was their story in the first place. I wonder....maybe the falling out with Beth arose from something to do with the book?? :confused3

Well, since we can all have opinions...:flower3: I'd rather watch and form my own opinion because to get it here, well, the comments will be judgemental and biased etc. I mean, look at all the things that we have discussed on this thread and everyone takes it all differetly.
Some think Kate is, in fact, a monster while she also has true fans here who probably think all she does is great. So, it will depend on whose take you believe, want to believe or maybe even what you want it to be.

For example, the Emeril scene. I had read that on here before I actually saw it and from what I read my opinion was VERY different that it was after I watched the scene for myself. Also, I read a lot of Aunt Jodi is sickeningly sweet---I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to Jodi until those tapes came out in the past 2 weeks. then, when I watched a bit of the marathon, I saw what I perceived as a bold faced lie about the kids and the gum. I thought that was not so sweet. Minus the fact that the young woman on the show and the young woman on the tapes looked very different to me. The woman on the tapes looked very bitter to me. I think it is all one big mess.

I keep hearing them talk about tomorrow's show and hear Jon saying he can't be himself and that he might as well be in prison. What does that mean?
I keep hearing Kate say she isn't going to lay down and die or some such phrase. What does that mean? When I read HERE I think she means she isn't going to give up the show for anything. When I see the video I think possibly she means that she isn't going to give up so easily. So what does she mean? What does Jon mean? Honestly, I'm going to watch for myself and form my own opinion and hopefully discuss it here.

ITA, but the poster I was referring to said he/she wouldn't be watching the show because it exploited the kids and would "catch up here." What's the difference? If you want the dirt and discuss it on the internet, it's not a whole lot different than watching the show as far as "exploitation," IMO. In fact, it just makes you a less informed person (as far as the show) since, like you said, you can't think for yourself and form your own opinions. They'll all be based on second hand accounts.

Well, I'm not going to waste minutes of my life watching a show I don't like LOL! Here I can skim and read very quickly, click on pertaining links to see what I may be interested in, participate in a debate (which I enjoy) and also not be counted as a viewer of the show for whoever may be watching *me*. (tivo?) I have formed my opinion, thank you. I watched other seasons prior to this one. I am no longer interested in watching them self destruct for entertainment.

But you agree that you will not be able to form your own opinion of the actual shows, yes? And those are the little details this thread likes to beat to death.

Again, I'm wondering why/if you think gossiping on the internet is less exploitative than watching the show (neither of which I, personally, think is) since that was your original reason for not watching the show.

I didn't say I didn't believe or trust Madge, that Kate said she wrote the book. I'm saying it doesn't matter IMO. She is one of the writters. Without her there would be no book, so she is an important part of the book. If, when Madge heard her speech, she was still talking about Mulitple Blessings and not her new book, since it was her speech, I assume she was talking about her accomplishments and life. If she was pushing the book, anyone buying it would see clearly who the authors were even if they weren't a part of this thread, it's on the front cover and very easy to see. I'm sure if Beth wants to go out and give talks, she can say she wrote it. It wouldn't be incorrect if any of them said it. Many people who have written books like this have had ghost writers, and given no acknowledgement to the writer on the cover. Beth was acknowledged on the book and it's very clear who had a part in the writing. I can't remember seeing a separate acknowledgement to just one of the writers in any other book I've read, and I read a lot of books. I have seen thank you's to people who have helped with facts, etc.

Has there been a falling out with Beth? I did not know that. Beth is in school now, perhaps she's a little busy. It would be nice to know if this was a helpful start to her, this book, to encourage her to go back to school. In one of her interviews, she was very proud of her accomplishment, and mentioned she lacked schooling.
