I've been wondering. Why can't Jon do any of the interviews or speak out?
Kate has taken over the show, the decisions, everything. No wonder he's getting burned out by the show, and possibly straying.

I wondered that too. Why doesn't Jon do speaking engagements or appear in the media without her? (I mean, I understand why he isn't now, but before) Is it just because she thinks he can't do anything right? If it were me, I would split those engagements. I wouldn't want to be the one away from the kids all the time. And the books are written by her, not by 'Jon and Kate Gosselin'. How are we supposed to believe, she runs the house, the show, the speaking engagements, the media.... it is ridiculous. With that much on anyones plate, something has got to give, and the first thing is probably the marriage. Although, judging from the show, she was doing a fine job of destroying that all on her own time. Second thing to go is the kids. Seems she has shoved them off on a nanny (because Jon is busy out with a girlfriend while she is out of town, so we know there really isn't a parent at home with them at all times like she says).

Because men are dumb and say dumb things.....;)

I tivo'd. More of the same, same, same. Never mentioned once that she & Jon love each other. And she also spoke of Jon more like he was an errant child than her husband. He's having difficult times. He's dealing very poorly with this.

she also said the tabloids were going crazy again... not to believe everything you read. (well, that's interesting since Jon & Kate are releasing statements to the tabloids as well.)

Kate also claims they did not set to have a celebrity lifestyle.... she hates the word celebrity. But she's not sorry they did the series. Life lessons will what you see in their show. :::insert blah Kate face here ::: Kate chooses happiness. The fans keep her going, because Kate is their inspiration.

There's more, but it's all the same stuff .... she must have said um one hundred times.

Thanks Madge.

In the Larry King interview, she keeps referring to the show on TLC as their work, their job. WTH, it is suppose to be a reality story, about how they live their lives 'normally' and on a daily basis. Those comments by Kate speaks loads about her, and what she thinks her serieso n TLC is about.

TLC, is all decency really should refrain from airing the premiere of this show, until this family'a issue are sorted out. It reflects badly on the network. This show is a disaster waiting to happen and the whole premise behind its original inception is about to implode. The family is crumbling before a tv nations viewing eyes, and will FOREVER change the lives of those kids!!!! Someone needs to step in on behalf of those kids, and say it must stop.

It is sad to see this happening. It is the fault of both parents.

Well put. Kate isn't much into personal responsibility, either. It's always everyone else's fault.
And while I'm on a rant, would someone please tell Kate and Jon that their kids are able to think and hear? It won't be that long until all 8 will be able to read with comprehension. Is any "adult" in that household (or for that matter at TLC) concerned about the real cost to those children of continuing on with show? It's time to end the circus. Kids should never be cash cows. Those children need love, nurturing, and most of all, PRIVACY.

In the Larry King transcript, Kate says that one parent is ALWAYS with the children. BOLD FACE LIE.

She was on a book tour, Jon was out partying it up on more than one occassion, so unless these children have three parents, there was not always a parent with the children.

I'm so over Kate, you know. She seems like she's out to prove to the world that they work so very hard, so deserve all that's been given to them. I'm not saying she does or she doesn't, but my point is, she seems to say that A LOT. Full time job, late nights, blah blah blah.

She also seems very full of herself. Jon seems full of himself. And the kids are going to pick up on their attitudes and adopt them as their own. Mady already has. She's just like Kate.

He did speak out. That ridiculous statement, remember?

I wouldn't call that speaking out. Just a statement provided privately over the phone or on paper.

I have to agree with you there.

:) Jon seems to make poor decisions and behave irresponsibly, he certainly won't be allowed to talk and have something come flying out of his mouth! I think he's in time out right now, and will be supervised 24/7 until he learns his lesson. (or has an unfortunate accident)

I did laugh at the comment that at the girls school, they are not concerned with things like the TV show and so are unaware of the controversy. It is an Amish school?!

And another thing--isn't there any sort of childrens advocacy group that can step in here on behalf of these children, and intercede on their behalf. Not sure why even a the local human services group there doesn't see some sort of case here here for in appropiate use of child labor or something. This is why beyond a reality series, and there needs to be some sort of voice for the kids.

Good point! Kate refers to the show as their "job" and "careers" when talking about she and Jon....but funny how it isn't a "job" for the kids!!!!! She says they are just playing and having fun with the camera men, and don't know any different. If it is a job for for Kate and Jon, then certainly it is a job for the kids (money is being made off of it anyway - and wouldn't be without the kids) labor laws should definately apply.

WOW. you really nailed it, and to a certain extent, so did Kate. By saying it is a job, then the child labor laws should apply. There has to be some group that will pick up on that. Isn't that former Leave it to Beaver child star an advocate for child labor. Perhaps the transcript from the Larry King show can be forwarded to him, and he can get the ball rolling. I know I have read in the past he has interceded with other child performers.

You know, this could end very badly for J&K. Child labor laws are VERY strict. I've always wondered how it is that they're getting away with filming so many days a week. Gloria Allred (a California attorney) is trying to bring charges against Octomom for that very reason! Here's the link:

http://omg.yahoo.com/news/gloria-al...ating-california-state-child-labor-laws/22102

Attorney Gloria Allred believes Nadya Suleman may be violating a number of California state child labor laws by booking numerous jobs for her newborn octuplets.

At a press conference Monday, Allred announced that she and child advocacy group "A Minor Consideration" have filed a petition in Orange County Superior Court to protect the financial interests of the babies and to appoint a guardian over their estate.

"Rather than chose to provide her children with a normal life, their mother, Nadya Suleman , has chosen to commercially exploit them," Allred said. "We believe that the babies are entitled to remuneration since most of the compensation appears to be use of their images."

The goal, she added, is "to be sure that the babies receive their fair share of payments" and that their payments "be placed into separate accounts for them and preserved for them as required by law."

The guardian can hire a professional agent for the babies -- different from Suleman's rep -- even if Suleman will not benefit from opportunities herself.

Allred -- who represented "Angels in Waiting," the non-profit nursing agency that Suleman severed ties with this year for allegedly "spying" on her -- also went on to detail the "number of California labor laws" they suspect Suleman, 33, of violating.

When filming or photographing children, a nurse and credentialed studio teacher must be present, Allred said.

By law, children -- ages 15 days to six months -- also can only be at the place of employment for two consecutive hours (between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. or between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.). Infants can't work any more than 20 minutes each day.

Suleman may be "potentially endangering the health, welfare and safety of children," Allred added.

A hearing date is set for June 22

I think child labor wise, the Gosslins "benefit" from living in Pennsylvania. If they were in California, they would be more accountable.
And I do think it's pretty immoral to have little kids financially supporting their parent's lifestyle of choice.

You know the more I think and read about these people the more I suspect they have been separated for a while.
The separate trip to Utah earlier in December (from what I read it sounds like he has a condo/timeshare there so he can go play whenever he wants), no mention of a family Christmas - something they generally seem to at least talk about, Jon going to his Mom's to "help out" which meant Kate had to do a couple of trips out with the kids on her own - showing and telling everyone she can manage just fine and thus showing TLC the ratings are still there without Jon, the whole season they were very awkward on the couch, Jon referencing that he is not happy with moving forward with the next season. I wonder if they even bought that house so that they could be somewhat together for the kids but with a separate apartment for him so they could lead separate lives....
Sounds like they've been building up to going public with this separation and continuing the show with Kate and the kids on their own. I think part of what Kate is ticked about is that he has messed up the timing, if they had wanted to handle this through the next season on the show. She never said he did not cheat. She never said the two of them are together and working this out. So much of what she said referenced that she and the kids would be fine and that she and Jon would put them first. I don't know .... nothing really seems to ring true with this couple right now.
Anyone else wondering the same thing?

I am working on finding the specifics .. but it's been mentioned on 2 blogs (and apparently confirmed by a Reading, PA radio station) that Jon was out at a bar last night, when Kate mentioned on Larry King Live that he was home with the kids.

True. Those little kids work, no question about it. The show HAS to have them because that's why people watch! Who the heck would watch just Jon and Kate? I doubt many would so the kids are necessary to the show, they ARE the show.

Really good points!:thumbsup2 I remember all the seasons where Kate would be all excited about the upcoming holiday. She and Jon would prepare for it. This past season though, nada.

There was talk that the condo in Utah was solely for Jon. I thought that was strange and I thought it was strange that just he and Cara went away. Kate also did a solo trip to Sesame Street Live and I thought that was strange too. Where was Jon? We know he's not working. Maybe you're right and Kate saw this as an opportunity to prove to TLC that SHE can carry the show WITHOUT Jon. Shocker. What is also still shocking to me is that Kate is still talking about season 5!!! It's getting really ridiculous now and is turning into a circus. :sad2:

I'd be curious to know this, myself. That would further prove Kate is lying.
