Hopefully, they didn't. They were at home with Jon, who knows if he turned on the TV for them to watch mommy. Surely not. I can't imagine that he'd do that... no one knows what these kids have seen and heard over the last few months

I just watched the clip, and I agree she didn't seem angry or tired. I was struck by how she claims people she her as an inspiration. Maybe in the first year or two, but she is no inspiration now!

About the book, she "wanted her kids to have it in writing how she feels about them" b/c maybe they won't know since she took the fame and ran with it w/o it considering the affect on them?.....Don't kids just know by your day to day interactions that they are valued and loved? Seems things, stuff are what is important to Kate. The things OTHER people can see.

I'm disturbed by her.

Let's for one moment say he didn't "cheat". He shouldn't have been where he was at the time of the pictures. Men should be allowed to have female friends but good judgement is needed.

I think they both need to start spending time at home together again. Otherwise their marriage is going to fail...if it isn't already over. Kate needs to give this whole book and speaking events a rest. Those still seem to be a priority and I dont think that's a good idea.

I will watch the new season but I hope they call it quits soon and maybe do a special episode every year or something. 50,000 to 75,000 per episode? I think they are doing fine right now.

that's in her public speaking speech. they've gotten millions of emails asking them to do the show, how can they say no .. people tell Kate all the time that they're their inspiration.

I'm sure the publicist approved the questions.

Other than that being her normal speaking pattern - the flat tone, the uhs, etc. -- the only other thing I thought was that she was so distant. I didn't expect her to be bubbly or charismatic. not at all. It seemed to me that she's in some sort of denial. I'm sure she is, how could she not be? But I'm not a trained therapist, so I don't know for sure.

Kate should be careful when addressing the tabloids .. because yesterday, Kate and Jon were using those very magazines (People and Us Weekly) to get their own story out. Can't really have it both ways.

I worked in law enforcement and social work with parents that had to be supervised for visits with kiddos. The Gosslins are not perfect, but far from punching holes in walls and each other. Kate is too smart, the pen has more wrath to scorn then any of her small slaps.

ITA. I work with domestic violence cases every day, and what I see on the show is not any part of domestic violence. Niether of them, show any signs of being the abuser or the victim. We may not agree with the way they treat eachother, but to call it domestic violence, is a pretty far stretch.

... And HELLO WHO IS WATCHING THE KIDS? Isn't Kate the one that made such a fuss over "only family" with the kids. So if Jon's sunbathing and Kate is off doing a tv spot where are the kids? ...

A number of people have posted this about the sunbathing 'incident'. I think that people are missing that this picture was taken at the Gosselin's home. The kids could be inside the house with or without other adults. Heck, they could have been just out of frame for all we know.

... I wonder what Kate is doing right now? She must be berating Jon like there's no tomorrow! ...

So basically it's just another day at the Gosselin house.

The brother may be a deadbeat, but the brother wasn't making Jon go out at 2 in the morning, or leave someone else house at 7:30 in the morning, or sit on his lawn while a girl is sunbathing on his lawn. Strike three, Jon you're OUT!!!

You are correct that there may be nothing wrong with the actual incident - we didn't see any actual wrongdoing in the photo. But this photo attached with the other allegations makes things suspicious, in my book.

I agree. I think it was the same poster who tried to accuse her of abuse a while back. Or people in the UK have a different view of abuse because I know the previous posts were from the UK, too.

What really gets me more than the actual scandal (because, honestly, with celebs it's old hat) is the venom from the Kate haters. I scanned a couple of comments from articles, etc. I understand people being mad at Jon (woman scorned and all that), but others seem to be reveling in the fact that he may have cheated. Others have said things along the lines that Jon should have slapped Kate, etc., etc., etc. Please tell me, aside from self-defense during an attack, when it's ok to condone hitting a husband hitting his wife?

I know, I know, running joke on the thread about Michelle and me, but I really just can't see why people have so much animosity towards someone they don't know. That's why I stand up for them a lot. It's not that I think the Gosselins can do no wrong, but I do know that they can't do all wrong. I've pointed out things I've seen as shortcomings on their part and even make fun of them occasionally, but the haters seem to be very stuck in their mindset. I don't care for the Duggars, but I would never dream of attacking them blindly on the internet.

Someone also mentioned they should quit the show (not marching on or something). Hypothetically, if Jon cheated and they split, please tell me how a single parent is going to support eight kids doing a normal 8-5. Money is a driving force in this world. You can't live without it, and they've found a way to get it in droves for very little labor (I won't say "work" because I do think it's work to have kids).

Probably. And, honestly, TLC probably doesn't really care what you think. JK8 is huge for them right now. If they didn't pay attention to all of the other naysayers (that guy who was a child star sticks out, since he has some celebrity to back him up), I doubt they're going to pull the plug due to some random emails.

I'm not sure about TLC not caring. I read yesterday (on one of the blogs, for whatever that's worth .. most of the time, there's some truth in what they're saying) that there was a stern reprimand from TLC after the February incident.

The Today Show, Rachael Ray, and Larry King Live are all mainstream media. I don't consider any of those tabloid TV. Kate could go on Oprah, The View, or Bonnie Hunt .. any number of shows that I'd consider non-tabloid.

I have not really watched the show for a while due to our schedule, ect but I have read some things going on lately and I just hate it so much for the kids. First of all mom is gone all the time on book tours when she was the main focus in their lives for the first years. Not sure what is the deal is with dad but sounds fishy.

I know the money from the show is good and tempting but if I saw my kids going through hell just so I could put a few dollars in the bank I would pull the plug. Yes the money could go toward college, clothing and feeding them, ect but there are other ways to do it without living in a million dollar house and cameras on them constantly. I would rather live in a crowded house and eat ramen noodles everyday before I would let my marriage and kids pay the price for my wants.

I could give a crap about Jon & Kate - they'll do want they want and pay the price but those kids have no say so in any of this - they are the ones I worry about.
