Hey Madge, when was Kate in Kentucky? Wasn't it around March 13th which is when Jon allegedly left Deanna's house that morning?

I saw Kate on March 8 (a Sunday) ... if I remember correctly, she might have had a speaking engagement the following weekend, as well.

I was really hoping that they would give the kids a day off (from work, not school). They really do not need to come to the interview with all of this going on right now. They need to be at school or at home where they can be kept in the dark about this.

Yup, she's spoken about some of the stuff going on. Apparently she's going to be on Rachel Ray next Tuesday and here's what she said in the interview yesterday:

"It's one of those things that we're just handling privately," Kate said on Wednesday's taping of The Rachael Ray Show. "We're just taking it one step at a time and I'm trying to walk through it."

She added: "The focus remains on our kids. It has always been there and will continue to be there. One day at a time, like we've always done. One hour at a time, one minute at a time, and my life's been like that."

Her interview with Rachael Ray -- which will air on Tuesday -- came the same day Us Weekly's current issue (on newsstands now) revealed that five people close to the situation confirmed that Jon, 32, has been having an affairwith third-grade school teacher Deanna Hummel.

"It's definitely another learning experience," Kate said about the recent media attention. "I look at life through the eyes of my kids in that I've always said life experiences... I feel like you can learn something from every situation and I am absolutely learning a lot from this."

After Jon and Deanna met in mid-January at Chill Lounge in Reading, Pennsylvania (they sent each other $3 shots), Deanna's brother Jason Hummel told Us that Jon -- who has twins, 8, and sextuplets, 5 -- began relentlessly pursuing his sister. By mid-February, he was coming over to their Reading house.

(At the Hummel house, Jason says Deanna and Jon would "pretty much stay locked away like two teenagers. It was weird. He's a grown man.")

Kate said that she didn't see it coming.

"Certainly none of this could have been predicted," she said. "Now going into our fifth season, we have stepped back and realized that it is part of this process, and I always say there's really never any going back. We just need to go forward. That is my new saying -- just keep on marching through this. Just doing what we need to."

Instead of focusing on the news -- which includes Jon and Deanna spending time together while Kate was traveling in late April -- of her husband's three-month long affair, she said she is putting her attention on her eight children.

"I know that I’m continuing on as I am the best mom I know how to be and that's really where my focus is," Kate said. "I really try not to let any of that stuff that comes with it get to me."

As for comments that Kate is combative (she once chastised her husband for breathing on their TLC reality show), she made no apologies.

"Just to put it out there, I am who I am," she said. "I do not care how you see me. Call me crazy, but it's out there because I am not perfect and I will never boast that I'm perfect. Everyone makes mistakes."

It's surprising she finally admits it, I just can't believe she is going to continue with the show.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin has admitted that her husband Jon's drunken rendezvous at a Pennsylvania bar with 23-year-old teacher Deanna Hummel -- has put strain on their nine-year marriage.

"Jon's poor judgment and irresponsible behavior has also without a doubt caused some added tension and stress between the two of us," she recently told Entertainment Weekly.

I took that to mean she's acknowledging it, why else would she say "she didn't see it coming"? They should ABSOLUTELY leave those innocent kids home tomorrow, unless they're planning to use them as some kind of protective shield/barrier against questions regarding the scandal. Ya, they're thinking of the kids alright.

She's just as big of an idiot as Jon then. To say that they're going to keep doing the show, keep marching forward? Hello!! The show has contributed to your current situation (ie: scandal!) so why the heck would you keep doing it and subject the kids to more pain or embarassment? Talk about selfish. I would've at least respected her a tiny bit if she'd said that this whole thing is a mess, our lives are a mess and we're cancelling the show to deal with it and focus our attention completely on the kids. But she didn't. She said the complete opposite...we're going to deal with it privately but put ourselves in front of the camera every week and further subject our lives and children to scrutiny and scandal. It is incredibly revealing to read her own words. She's prepared to milk that show for all it's worth no matter the consequences. I don't think I've felt so sorry for a group of children before in my life. I really wish one of their family members steps in to help.

I agree 3PP. If she would have said "You know, this whole thing is a lot to deal with. We are talking privately and deciding what our next move will be with the show. We're hoping that our contract issues can be resolved quickly."

But no, she can't stand to be out of the spotlight. She has to be the center of attention no matter who it hurts.

Next season, everyone is going to be watching EVERY LITTLE THING and put them under an even bigger microscope. It's sick really.

Larry King is showing that Kate will be on Thursday evening. I hope she doesn't believe Jon and sees the truth.

I do wonder if anything would really have been any different had they NOT done the show. This put additional strain on them, but I have my doubts it was that strong to start with. People have been calling Kate a banchee for years. The fame may have accellerated this but I suspect if they were just out of the public eye their marriage would have had a similar fate.

"He's a very nice guy, don't get me wrong. But he's married with eight children," she said. "[He] has a great family life. I would never ever think to pursue anything."

I agree, between Kate's personality and the strain of multiples would have had this marriage stormy a long time ago. The fame and fortune just were worth jon hanging in there, not working and having the toys.

As far as the girls statement that he has a great life, that kind of shows what a groupie, drop some goodies on me type person. As far as the stuff that her brother says and she does. somewhere in the middle so lie the truth. A horney 23 yr old with a "movie" star from her home town, so into her.....I am sure it has got to affect the teaching position.

I think that Jon did a "Clinton" number, I did not have sexual Inter----- with that woman...If you did not count the cigar, Jon could figure he did not have convential relationship...

But, I do think that he is playing with a lot of toys and the kids are really going to be hurt, That is the part that will ultimatly bring the series to an end.
