Watching now too...Is it me or does Kate seem to be in a pissy mood?? I'm as sarcastic as the next person, but man, if I was Steve Thomas I'd think she hated me! Yikes!

You know, I bet this was an episode where TLC went, look Kate, we're doing a Green segment so just grin and bear it! On the flip side Jon looks like he's enjoying himself!

some of the filming was apparently done on Valentine's day .. which we now know is part of the time that Jon was gone. interesting.

AHHH, I didn't make that connection. So, how far away does his Mom live again?

Is it just me or is her sense of humor not coming across well on camera?

And not to be mean, but I guess Jon ditched the trainer with the move? I wouldn't have even noticed if they didn't make an episode about the trainer.

no, you're not. all it takes is one rock for the front wheel to hit, stopping the trike, causing your DD to fall.

is this show only about the solar panels? have they addressed anything else in the house, like the paper plates?

On Amazon, the book has 13--1 star, 1--3 star, and 3--5 star in reviews.

A 3.5 star average rating on barnes and noble (23 reviews)

Looks like a scrapbook with a writing on torn legal paper and a typed scripture on another note pad paper on one page with a picture of the family on the facing page. It is tied to themes, I guess.

I haven't seen the book in person, only the link you posted. How many pages is the book? I thought it was supposed to be a scrapbook of some sort. The Disers would put that to shame, have you seen some of their books?

I think it is weird to put a scrapbook of your family out for others to purchase. It's weird, right?

Madge, sometimes I think we share a brain! She served lunch and snacks (to the crew) on paper plates, the kids used plastic forks for lunch, styro. cups, Kate used a plastic water bottle in the interview....all of these things I could care less about but they are doing a show about Going Green. At the end they say "Now the Gosselins are green." Hardly, now the Gosselins got a bunch of free solar panels.

Ladies, don't forget the solar driveway lights, led lights in the house and reclaimed wood picnic table!

I thought it was going to be more like the recycle episode they did before. This could have been such a great platform to educate the peeps about greener living. What about all the little things they could've done inside the house? I'm just confused as to why the whole thing was about being green outside. They probably could have done more with it but apparently it was all about the solar panels! You know, the ones Kate hated and called roof jewelry?

OMG. I scrap, sort of. NOTHING like those people! Actually, it's really very overwhelming to me, bordering on stressful.

I don't think it's weird. I wouldn't do it .. but it falls in line with the Gosselins whole marketing plan. It isn't necessarily unusual for a celebrity to do a book like that, I don't think.

I do think Kate's upcoming cookbook is weird, since she's said in the past that she doesn't use recipes. LOL

bingo. TLC has been advertising it. I don't know that this was something Kate sees as self-promoting ... what benefit is she getting from having solar panels? (other than the money saving?)

I'm noticing that she's dropped the word organic from her vocabulary. Another concept (organic eating) that would have fit in well with a green episode.

It obviously didn't bother anyone else on the set, but I would have been a nervous wreck with all the kids out there.

And a non-JK8 related thing? I think it's awful they're showing that one kid from Table for 12 at the dentist

Maybe they didn't mention the organic food because that will come into play with Emril. I also agree that if it was a green episode they could have tried to make most of it green. They could have used regular plates just for this episode. There are a lot of benifit sto going green and with a family that size it could make a very big dent.
