could you run those racks thru the dish washer?

You probably could. I know the glass shelves in my fridge (not a sub zero) are tempered glass so they probably would be safe. They just might be too big unless you could take out the top rack of the dishwasher. I might try washing my shelves in the dishwasher next time. Thanks for the idea!

Wow that house is so beautiful!!! But, I do think 4 hours is a bit long to be cleaning! :crazy2:

did I miss something?

is the new house very far from where they live now? will the kids go to the same school?

I don't think the house is far from where they used to live. I'm not up on my Pennsylvania geography, though. LOL.

Unless you like to do it.

We have a snow day tomorrow, so I'm excited to get in another full day of cleaning and organizing. :rotfl: I remember when snow days were for sledding!!

OMG I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A JON & KATE PLUS 8 THREAD!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I'm so excited now!!!!!!!

I have only seen a few random threads about sightings at WDW and other places but I'm glad you're all here........ well those at least who aren't here just negatively criticise (sp?).

Like I always say in other J&K+8 discussions...

Alexis is my homegirl, aldergaters!

Did anyone thing Kate's face looked 'different' last night when they where sitting in the chair. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but her face just looked different. Around her eyes, or around her mouth area. Even my daughter said it. Anyone else notice it?

I thought she looked tanner & thinner, and her hair was longer in the front - but I will have to look again at her face!

I have the same professional Wolf range that is in that house - boy oh boy is she going to obsess over keeping that clean - it's a PAIN to keep clean! Maybe I will learn some tips from her on how to do it better.

I don't blame Kate for wanting to clean something, or use the time wisely
but couldn't she relax and explore the house with the kids.
4 hours to clean a refrigerator. That was a long time.

I think when Kate gets into her obsessive cleaning spree, the compulsion to be way to perfect comes through. She got caught being mean again to Jon and the kids, i.e. calling Jon into the house to wipe someone's butt, seriously. Plus, when a refrigerator is not in use, it will grow some mold inside, especially if the door doesn't get open and fresh air can get in and circulate.

Did anyone else hear a camera or a producer say, "wow what stinks" when they were near one of the bathrooms?

I agree, Marissa. Kate was a bit of a killjoy, at times, last night. I also didn't like the lecture she felt compelled to give to the kids about her and Jon's bedroom. I TOTALLY get their need for privacy, but she was going on and on. And then I love how she asks Jon to chime in and he just says: "Don't ever come in here!":lmao: I mean really, are the kids even going to absorb anything she said? They were all so excited and she's making house rules before they even move in. I think that's I discussion I would have had once we were all moved in but that's just me.

I know I missed alot of posts but what happened to moving to North Carolina? And, why oh why did they purchase a house with all of that property and a barn? Just looks like alot to maintain. I'm a city girl though - so I guess I just never appreciated the benefits of wide open spaces.

My daughter and I were cracking up over Jon's toilet paper story with the boys!:rotfl2:

I agree about the bedroom rules. Just make them after you moved it. And the way she was yelling at jon "HELLOOOOO....I am talking! Did you tell them, help me out here!" and then she waited for him to talk and he said "Dont come in here" and she did some thing with her hands and said "SPEAK!" (isnt that a command you give a dog, not a husband?) Then the poor guy says some more and she says "And did you tell them why???" Gracious! Leave him alone! You already brow beat them with the rules and pounded it in to their cute little heads! Talk about overkill! And she kept going on and on and on about the fridge (sure hope the previous owners werent watching:crazy2: ). I had to leave the room. I felt she was even more witchy tonight.

Welcome to the thread. This is actually our 2nd one. After 250 it gets shut down and you have to start a new one.

We all love the show too.
We complain and bash it at times, but we aren't vindictive.

:wave2: Cammi and girls.

I agree, I think Kate was working so hard to change,
but when she gets stressed, her old habits creep back out.

My parents bought a lake home 20 years ago.
My dad took 2 of my kids along.
When I got there 4 hours later, my mom was so mad and stressed out.
She just wanted to clean and she was angry that my kids
swam in the lake, went fishing with grandpa.
He was there to enjoy his first day,
and my mom went to work trying to clean.
I cleaned for 3 days straight, trying to appease her.
My mom is a bit like Kate, when it comes to cleaning.
They get into a compulsive disorder.

I'm normally Kate defender but the bedroom speech and the whole thing about the kitchen. I felt bad for the orginial owners. Also, I wonder how long the bedroom thing will last if one of the kids gets sick.

Also, Also:) did Kate really ask Cara to wipe one of the little kids butt??? Yuck! I've always felt like I have a small glimmer of what their life might be like as I have a singleton and twins the exact same age apart as J & K. I wouldn't ask my DD to wipe one of the twins butt.

I am normally not a complainer about Kate, but I did not like her in last night's episode.
1. 4 hours for cleaning a fridge is a bit obsessive.
2. The bedroom thing just turned me off completely. I understand the need for privacy, but forbidding your children to EVER step foot in there is extreme. I cannot imagine forbidding my kids from our bedroom. We love our snuggle time in bed with them in the mornings.

Absolutely! That was rediculous, bedroom doors have locks for a reason. What if your child is sick or has a bad dream? Sometimes I want to slap her :lmao:

I wonder why they didn't show the pool at all. That is the area that should have had the big speech and the HUGE threats.

No offense, I was watching last night. And i can't help but notice that there is something really off with a few of the tups.
Now, it's been a few months since i've seen a new episode, but it seems like Aaden and Joel are a bit delayed. They just both seem to be a lot younger than their siblings. real nice that they have this fancy new house, but i hope that Jon and Kate will have these kids evaluated before they go to kindergarten.

Their new house is only about 15 minutes away from me. I am glad they decided to stay local! I like when they take the kids out to local attractions on the show.....gives me lots of ideas of things to do with my little guy.

I didn't see the episode yet....do the kids go to public school? My FIL works in the school district they live in.

did I miss something?

is the new house very far from where they live now? will the kids go to the same school?
The new house is closer to Wyo****ing (about 15 minutes away). K&J both said they missed W and wanted to be closer. Remember that is the town where the 4th of July parade and events take place. It is where they use to live before moving to Eli******town. It is my guess that the kids will go to the same private school which is actually closer to there current home.

As for the new house--good for them! It is in a beautiful area and there is a wonderful lake/park close by. I hope they will be very happy.

Oh my that house is beautiful! How long before they lose one of the kids in there? just kidding of course
