Joining Cash with DVC res at BWV

Hi everyone,

I have a question related to a possible stay in the future. If we book a 1 bedroom BWV for the first couple of nights of our vacation and pay cash, and then use points for the next 5 nights, what happens if we book a preferred view room on points?

Will Disney downgrade our room to standard view? Will we have to move after the first couple of nights (the most unacceptable result)? Or will Disney give us the view we book for the entire stay?

Would any of your gurus share your knowledge or experience with me?

I've heard they do not allow cash nights for Boardwalk view. You might be able to get a preferred garden/pool. I would discuss it with member services to see if you can get a member discount cash night and if you would have to move. If you go through CRO, you may have to move.

Thanks Deb. I already have a reservation through CRO at the CM rate. If we buy or rent points, we might rent the majority of our stay, except for the first 2 nights, which would be Friday and Saturday.

I also did not want to ask for a BW view room. In fact, standard view would be fine, but I am assuming, this late in the game (it's for August) that standard view would be unavailable. I was planning to ask for a pool view, preferably ground floor.

Any additional thoughts?

If you cross a CRO ressie with a MS ressie you have more of a chance to check out and check back in again between ressies. I know MS can link cash and point ressies, but I think CRO can only request the guest stay in the same room. It could be as easy as going to the front desk and changing keys or you may need to pack and leave for the day to check back in after 4:00.
