Join a Confirmed Disney YES program on Nov. 3rd

Hi,
I'm posting this on the budget board since I haven't had any luck on the family board.

One family cancelled, so we're in need of just one more child for the class. Here's all the info:


Confirmed class!
Synergy in Science held at Epcot on Wednesday, 11/3 at 8:45 AM. Age range: 5 - 11, Grade range K - 4. (modified from official listing to suit our group)

Class info:
Synergy in Science: 1st — 5th Grade

Take an in-depth exploration of the interaction between creativity and technology. By investigating technologies at work in Epcot® attractions, students discover the "magic" behind entertainment technology and its application to daily life.


I am in need of more participants. One family had to cancel, so we need a few more kids. Tickets will be ordered in early August to avoid the probable price increases in September when new rates are posted.

We have room for lots more!

Anyone going to Disney during Jersey Week (first week of November) and want to join a YES group? I'm putting together a YES group for K - 4th graders.

What exactly is Y.E.S?
- Disney's Youth Education Series. They offer 3-hour classes for children ages K - 12. The classes take place in the parks on various subjects.

What's in it for you?
- Join my group and your child will be able to take a class essentially for free. When else will your child learn about physics at the Magic Kingdom? How cool is that?
- You will be able to purchase a substantially discounted park pass for each enrolled child plus one other person.
- You could potentially have 3 hours to yourself to tour the park, eat a leisurely breakfast, get a massage, etc. There are 2 chaperones allowed with the group, in addition to the teacher. I will be one of the chaperones.
- The park passes are valid 7 days prior and 7 days after the class date. If you aren't going exactly Jersey week but will be there on 11/3, you can still participate.

This is about the open enrollment for the YES program. There's general information regarding YES, but it's mainly about open enrollment.

DH and I are discussing a budget trip during Jersey Week, but I'm not familiar with the YES program. We have a 1st grader and a 3rd grader. How would tickets work?

How are payments handled and also does Disney sent the tickets to each person? I could discuss with our group, there are six kids between 5-11 yrs.

Hi,

Groups have to place one order for the tickets. They only allow one order, so once I place the order, no one else can join. Group participants can order different tickets, so not everyone has to get the same thing.

You can order one companion ticket per child, so if you have 2 children participating, you can order 2 extra tickets (4 total). If you have more people in your group than children, then the extra people will have to purchase tickets separately.

The tickets are shipped to the group leader. They also have an option of will call, but it seems like all the tickets have to be picked up at once, so it's kind of the same situation, where the group leader will have to distribute the tix to everyone.

I plan to order the tickets and then fedex them to each of the families.

I am collecting the ticket orders and money (people have paid me via paypal, check, and money order).

I finally heard back from the other family and it did not sound like their kids were interested so I think we will wait to see if there would be any open enrollments closer to our actual planned dates as our trip is not totally set yet. Waiting on a job offer so we need to keep it flexable yet.

Im pretty sure that it is against the rules to collect money from other people on the disboards. Can you imagine the potential for fraud? Thats why they stopped any stroller swaps, photopass shares and fridge swaps that collected money from people in order to keep them running.
