Every movie he's in he always looks cool. Here is a photo from "The Lone Ranger" where he plays Tonto:

It's difficult to pull off a bird hat.

Who's arm do you think they photoshopped into that photo?

Mmmmmmmmm, I don't know about cool and he sure doesn't look like Tonto. He looks like he escaped from the Haunted Mansion or something. I'll say one thing though, it sure will make the costume section at the Disney Store more interesting.

Hmmmm.... I can't imagine that the Native American population of the US are going to be too happy with that.

supposedly the movie continues the modern trend of how the white guy is just there to be cool looking while the ethnic "sidekick" is actually the brains of the operation.

Which I guess is OK, but why does he have to take something as cool as this:

and turn it into a joke like this:

Not sure if he's turning it into a joke? Kinda depends on how he plays the character. I doubt he'll do a Capt'n Jack impersonation.

BTW, I think the photo Say Hello posted looks really cool. I didn't realize that Johnny's costume was based on a real person.

Hmmm....I guess I don't see a huge difference between the two pictures. Does not strike me at all as making a mockery of one.

Get rid of the Capt. Jack headscarf, and it would look pretty decent.

I agree. I think it's the headscarf that makes it look off. That, and the fact that his crow is pretty mangy.

Johnny Depp can pull off just about any kind of roll....he's awesome...
