John Wayne Airport / Santa Monica / Back to Anaheim

We have to be in Anaheim for a cheerleading thing (beware - cheerleaders invading Disneyland over spring break )

The team is flying into Orange County. We have two days free before we have to report back to Anaheim.

Being Loews Platinum, we want to head over to Loews Santa Monica for a couple of days.

I know Orlando like the back of my hand, but am in new territory for California, so need some help from the experts.

How far is Santa Monica from Orange County? Should we rent a car or are there shuttles like Mears?

How about going back to Anaheim from Santa Monica. We will need to go back to the Anaheim Marriott.

We will do DL when at the Marriott, but does anybody know if there is transportation to the other venues like Universal Hollywood from the Santa Monica hotels?

SNA and LAX are both served by the Airport Bus (www.airportbus.com) and SuperShuttle. I believe that AirportBus does group charters.

Universal used to offer free transportation from the Anaheim area hotels with certain ticket media - don't know if they still do.

We found John Wayne a very easy airport to navigate. Rented and drove back and forth from DL and Aunts house in Anaheim, and Newport Beach, no trouble at all.
