They didn't have details of what happened but John Ritter of 3's Company, and more recently 8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter has died.

How sad and shocking. I grew up with Three's Company and I loved that show! I was happy that he had a new hit with 8 Simple Rules. He always had amazing comedic timing. His expressions were priceless.


In the mid 80s I was at the Magic Kingdom with my aunt and she spotted him and his family on Main Street. I was dissapointed that I never got to see him.


His poor family. They must be in such shock.

I am speechless! How sad. I just saw his new show last week for the 1st time and it was cute. What a shame.

He has grown children and a toddler with his second wife as well. He is also the voice of "Clifford the Big Red Dog". This is very shocking.

This is very shocking news. How sad. It's weird because I couldn't sleep last night, and happened to turn on Nick at Night last night and watched an episode of Three's Company for the first time in a long time. He has a son who is an actor (I just saw them on some awards show or something like that together).

How very sad - woke up to the news of him and Johnny Cash. I wasn't surprised by the Johnny Cash news because he had been ill and looked really drained.

The news of John Ritter hit me hard. I always loved his work. He had that good old American Boy look, but with his goofy timing as Jack Ritter. Never did see his new show - now I wish I had made time for it.

I loved his character Jack Tripper. Remember the guest spot he had on The Cosby Show, playing the husband of a pregnant wife who tried to have the perfect pregancy and labor??? It was hysterical...I'm pretty sure the actress that played his wife in that episode IS his real wife. Such a loss...
