We are taking our 4 year old to Disney next month, and am wondering if our jogging stroller would work okay inside the park? If so, any suggestions on an affordable stroller that would work well for bigger kids? (we have a younger child as well, so I am not adverse to buying a new stroller)

Please do not reply just to tell me that a 4 year old is too big for a stroller.

Don't know about jogging strollers but we purchased a Maclaren Volo to take to Disney for our daughter that will be 5 later this month. She is right at 40 pounds and the stroller goes up to 55 pounds. She fits in it nicely with lots of room to grow. I like it because it is an umbrella stroller that folds and opens up very very easily and quickly.

My wife and I have gotten to where we just rent the double stroller from Disney for the week we are there. It makes it nice not having to lug one from home.

We have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. Both of the kids fit into the double stroller nicely. They could probably walk, but it is nice to have to stroller. It comes in handy when we need to get to a ride or show fast. Also, the kids are not completely exhausted at the end of the day.

Just thought I would mention the strollers you can rent. We like that option, and if you change parks just show the people at the park you go to your receipt and you get another stroller and you are off.

Hope that helps.

I picked one up a jogging stroller this morning. I ordered from Walmart and had it delivered site to store so shipping was free. It is a baby trend. It was 106 with tax. It was very simple to put together. A little bigger to fold up than I would like, but we are going to make it work. My DD is 4.5 and is tall for her age. She fits in fine. We will use it next year also.

It is a little longer than my normal stroller and the one they rent, but it is about the same width of their single strollers and smaller than thier double strollers. It has a basket the under the seat, a pocket on the back of the seat, a parent tray with 2 cups holders and a small storage area, and four pockets on the canopy. I don't like the way the seat reclines--it uses a draw string. I hope this helps.

If your jogging stroller has small swivel tires on the front, it would be OK. The ones with a single, non-swiveling front wheel stick out way too far in the front and are very difficult to turn.
Look also at how difficult it is for your child to climb into and out of it. Your child will be getting in and out quite often and you want it to be as easy as possible.
This is a picture of the WDW park single stroller. The double strollers are the same, only twice as wide.

They are not hard to push. We don't take the stroller into the stores. We usually park it outside and the kids walk around in the store with us. Maybe someone else has some experience with the double stroller in the stores. I would think it should not be a problem though.
