I don't think she sounds like a battered woman, but a desperate woman. Given her history with men, she sounds like a girl who would do ANYTHING to keep a man. Whether it be sexual or just agreeing with him to please him. Sounds like she was in a situation where if she was being battered, she could just walk away. I don't know all the details, but it does not sound like they were living together. Therefore, she never had to go back for more. Doesn't wash with me.

I think the defense increased it's Battered Woman Syndrome argument 10 fold today. It'll only take one juror to believe it.

She's still guilty, but I think the tape corroberated some of Jodi's testimony.

Why do you feel this way? I didn't hear anything that sounded like she was abused, coerced, threatened, pressured, battered, whatevered ... from that tape. What did you hear that made you feel the defense got anything useful from that?

Can you tell us why you feel this way? I took the whole call as horny, sexually curious, experimenting, consenting 20 something's, each of whom have a little freak in them. No harm, no foul between two consenting adults?

Well, for one thing, I didn't feel anything about the tape or her testimony, it's based on the evidence presented to the jury. Travis corroborated some of the allegations made by the defense i.e.: the tree rape scene, the giggling 12 year old as well as the hand on the butt for ownership effect.

We keep hearing folks talk about why would Jodi return to all this abuse if it were real. Is there one juror that wants to know after Travis has told all his friends that Jodi was a stalker, why would he have any relationship with her whatsoever. For months he told everyone he was broken up with her. Did they sound like they were broken up in May 2008? Didn't he say she's number 1 on his list of visits after he returned from Cancun? I've read that he's a red blooded American man who can't think straight cause he wants the sex. Really? Or was he just using her, kinda like his dirty little secret?

And the jury hasn't heard the testimony of the BWS expert yet.

Course, I'm hoping the Prosecutor can corner Jodi somewhere and reiterate to the jury despite any shortcomings of Travis, she had no right to kill him.

Exactly! For those who believe she's battered, like some of the commentators on InSession/HLN, the fact that she goes along with what Travis wanted doesn't mean that he MADE her. Just because a person lies doesn't mean they were so abused growing up that they learned to lie (ie, Jodi, Casey Anthony)...just maybe a person lies because she's A LIAR, or COMMITTED A CRIME and wants to get away with it. Just because a woman has "deviant" sex (OMG, I find that HILARIOUS in the context of this trial) doesn't mean that she's been battered emotionally or physically to get to that point...maybe SHE LIKES IT TOO. *gasp* Kinky sex isn't a male "perversion" with women as victims; very normal women (as well as normal men) LIKE IT. It's a consenting adults issue. And honestly, I think claims that what Travis said to Jodi on those tapes is demeaning to women is BS and sets women back 100 years. This is about two EQUALLY CONSENTING ADULTS. To make her a victim because she participated is insulting...she enjoyed it, just like he did.

I didn't hear the worst parts of the tape (yet), but what I did hear Travis sounded well sleepy, but also kind of nice and complimentary. I did not hear any anger or meanness or anything negative about him towards her. He wasn't dismissive although he was a little disinterested IMO.

She led the conversation and was way into it.

If anything as crazy as it sounds, I actually like Travis more now that I have heard him. And I know even with more certainty she is lying.

Jodi's testified numerous times that Travis was always nicer on the phone than in person when they first started out. Battering isn't a constant activity, wait til the expert testifies, maybe it'll make more sense to you then. And by sense, I mean how Jodi's testimony fits the pattern in BWS.

Was this ever talked about here? Nancy Grace said it was discussed on her show a couple of weeks ago. That Travis broke up with Jodi on June 29, and she stabbed him 29 times. Now mostly I think that it's one of those coincidences that legends are made from, and part of me thinks Jodi is so nuts and bent on revenge that I could see her counting as she went.

Reminds me of Casey Anthony and her password "Timer55" and they believed it was because it was 55 days from the date of Caylee's death till Caylee's birthday and that's how long she'd be able to hold off not letting her parents see Caylee because they'd demand to see her on her birthday.

As always, I missed most of the testimony and recording. Who wants to summarize the rest of the day for me? I stopped listening around 4 (central). Did Jodi get questioned again after the recording? Did they get to the murder yet?

I actually can't wait until JM gets his chance and repeats over and over and over again "why didn't you just leave him alone?" After all they were not married. JA had no TIES to Travis. JM will make her look exactly like the STALKER that she was to Travis.

Ok I was watching live coverage of the Manhunt so I missed allot today but I did tape HLN and will watch it later on.

Mar, was it confirmed that JA stabbed him 29 times because I have read different articles and some say 25 others 27?

I believe it was 29 times. No they have not got to the murder yet. She got grilled by her attorney about things that went on during the conversation. Who knows what the heck will happen tomorrow.

Riverside, Corona, and Orange county. Big bear is nice as well.

I'm glad that is over too. It was just awful! I'm glad that people in that area can rest easy tonight.

As for this trial, I couldn't stomach it. All of the nasty sex talk made me feel uncomfortable. I also made the mistake of googling a tossed salad as mentioned above and I almost puked. I'm thankful I didn't search images.

yes!We need a warning sign on tossed salad! I will never look at one the same again. I can also see me cracking up laughing if a waiter asks me if I want one.

I think all of this today hurt the defense too from what was said on TV tonight.
