Do you have a job, or do you volunteer anywhere? Do you like what you do?

I'm an intern at the Florida Aquarium. It's part of something I have to do for school. I get to get out of class all day every Friday and talk to people about fish. xDD

What about you guys?

no, not right now.

my last job was working at a high school though. i really liked it.

I bus tables at a bar in at a ski resort in the winter and I do that on weekends and over vacation. I get free skiing as a job perk plus $6.50+tips.

In the summer I sell ice cream at the same resort, but on a different mountain. I get free passes to use the water slides and alpine slide plus admission to a bunch of other local places.

And I get free food at both.

yep, my current job is @ HMV (which is the same sort of thing as the store FYE in the us) I love it! Lots of great people working there and I love being surrounded by music & movies :thumbsup2 I've worked there for about a year now.

in the summer i also had a full time job as a receptionist. i liked it alright but i'd never want to do something like that for a career!! it's too mundane.

before that i worked at AMC, which was alright, ilooooved the people there (and the free movies!!) but the job itself was kinda crappy, i had to give up friday & saturday nights too often.

aaaand before that i volunteered at this place called pioneer village, which was definitely my favourite job!! even though i didnt get paid haha. it's this place where they have historic buildings and pretend like it's pioneer times. i love acting so it was fun to get to dress up like a pioneer and have to act like one all day. :thumbsup2

and on top of hmv right now i'm also starting to get into acting. i just started recently so i haven't gone to any auditions yet, i'm still getting al set up and stuff. but hopefully i can get some jobs doing that because that'd be good money!

I used to volunteer at some place just like that! It was called Cracker Country and I got to dress up in an awesome pioneer suit. I had dyed black hair at the time, so I looked like an emo Laura Ingells. xDD

But it was really fun, I met a lot of cool people. The only time I didn't like it was during the state fair, all the people who came through weren't really interested in the history and all I did was activate some animatronics (the animatronics were only out during the fair, the rest of the year I got to talk).

I'm a waitress at Johnny Rockets. I've been there for a year and a half. I've been the to-go/hostess and this summer is when I started serving. I love it there. I've been there so long that most of the people feel like family.

I work at Fitworks Fitness Center. It's a gym here in Ohio and some other places too. I get paid $7.30 an hour and plus a free membership! My family get dicount memberships. This is my first job ever and I have been there for 19 months. I really like it and I am not planning on quitting anytime soon.

I'm a supervisor at the Bulk Barn, which is Canada's largest bulk food retailer.
I love the people I work with, I don't really dislike any of them.
The customers however, I could do without.

My work-study job is with the university. I have also worked summers for the BLM.

i had a part time job at bank of america for a lil while but i quit. now my friends and i started our own company. its legit and everything but we're not really doing anything with it.

I had a job at a fast food place but I quit because I didn't like it at all and by the time the first week of school was over I was miserable. I already had so much work.

I'll be okay when I can find a job I love.
I volunteer a lot for school clubs though. Just today my friends and I made smoothies for some afterschool kids.

I've been working over two years at a seafood restaurant. I don't like that they make me cook most of the time, but I get to work with a lot of my friends who have also worked there about as long as I have.

i'm only 15, so i'm not really old enough to work at most places. but i really feel like i'm too old to be asking my parents for money, so when i turn 16 i really want some kind of job.

Mainly, I'm a Cashier at a grocery store. I. HATE. MY. JOB. 'nuff said

But I also do a seperate stock job for a friend at a few grocery stores every Saturday. That job, I absolutely love! I can wear what I want, take as long as I want and as long of a break as I want, listen to my iPod, and whenever I absolutely can't (which isn't too often) my boss is willing to do my route for me. Best job ever! :goodvibes

yes I work for my dad, i help him around the office and I get paid...but all my money goes into my retirement savings or something

From mid April to early November I work at an amusement park in admissions (selling tickets, processing season passes, collecting parking money, turnstiles) and I like the people I work with. Management sucks though. I could write a book (and might!!) from all of the stupid people I have dealt with at this place wanting their money refunded or yelling at me for something I can't control.

I work at Jamba Juice three days a week during the school year and basically full time during the summer. I've been there since my store opened, about 19 months now. I love some of the people there, mostly the two other girls that have been there from day 1. We all get along pretty well; I just don't like some people there. I'm not thrilled with my job, or the pay ($8.60/hour) but its the only place I can find that will pay me that much and give me the flexibility in my schedule. But that's probably because I have the most seniority (despite being the youngest :) )
I also intern twice a week for a local photographer. I get paid for one day. It's a lot of fun, so much better than working the Juice. The experience is more of what counts over the pay for me.
I volunteer once a week at an after school care near my house. That's a lot of fun too. The kids are really cute (k-3). I'm going to be sad when the school year is over...

Hopefully I'll get a second internship soon because the one I have now is going to end soon because she stops shooting in a few weeks. Meaning we finish up the people she shot and then she's done till spring so she won't need me till then.
I'm also hoping for a second job this summer, a manager at a local Little League food stand. My friend worked there this summer and said she could probably get me a job there too. It pays $14/hour...yah I'll sell food to little kids for $14/hour!
