Sailed with DCL 9 times and am interested in employment opportunities, either ship or shore based. Anyone have any suggestions or connections they'd be willing to share?
Much appreciated!

I'm sure you know the site, but for those who don't, http://dcl.disneycareers.com/ is where you find the positions that are available. My TA's daughter is starting with DCL after her summer study abroad. All I know is that she had an interview and that she will be a youth counselor. Last I heard, she didn't know what ship she would be on.

Just search Disney cruise line jobs. The website has information about everything about working for them. And they'll point you in the direction of the right agent to apply for as it depends on which country you're from and which department you want to work in.

Good luck.

It can take a while. I've known quite a few people waiting over a year to get through the whole process and they're for the departments with more staff...

Do consider your skills and experience and what job you want, the tipping positions like server or stateroom host only have a two weekly salary of $50, the rest is tips, the best standard positions may get $1,000 every two weeks, high ups like officers negotiate their remuneration.

Tips for food servers go to them, bars are pooled, room service if cash go to them, if charged pooled.

Some double up on roles.

For Palo you have to work up from the MDR and you can still, get called to do the MDR, say if you go on leave and come back and palo is full, you do the MDR until a person in palo goes on leave.

They have been recruiting world wide recently and before the new ships come they will over recruit and train, and then swap employees around. So there will be a mix of crew experience on all ships.

DCL is very good at internal promotion and with new ships there will be plenty of opportunities when they come.

On Facebook there is a DCL Crew group, you could join that for tips.

You may have to pay for your own flight to your first role, DCL will pay after that for normal start and end of contract, if you have any family emergency then you have to pay your own flight costs.
