How many people love their job? I am in a job right now that sometimes I wonder what the hell I am doing here. I don't do what I am supposed to do because my hands are tied. I don't have what is required to do the job well, and I never see the spoils of my labor. I feel like I should be more, do more and feel more satisfied!

So, do you LOVE your job? Is it what you dreamed of?

My job is OK. I don't get paid enough, but with me being a single parent, this is the best job for me:

I can leave when necessary for my child's school, doctor's appt., etc.
I can take a long weekend whenever I want.
I work school hours.
It is no problem if me or DD has to stay home sick.
And most important of all - I can dis whenever I want. (when I'm not "busy" )

Again, this job does not pay great, but it is hard to find a job that tells me family comes first.

I most certainly do not love my job.

I had one job that I actually did enjoy and feel good about, that was working at a nature center and being responsible for all the animal care. That was almost five years ago.

Now I'm working solely for health benefits and a paycheck. I get no other fulfillment out of it. :sad1:

But, there are other things (besides work) in life that make me happy I suppose. :)

I have always loved my line of work and I still do.

I worked for a great man and company for 10 years but I was not able to obtain a raise and couldn't move up the ladder so I left. It was hard, and now I am with a much larger company and learning new things still love it.

My dream since I was 19 has been to work for Disney and I went down there this past April but was not hired due to the sheer fact that I was not yet a full time resident in Orlando. So that is something I am going to work on. I am young so that is still a possibility for my future.

Hi Glo - I know what you do and I THINK YOU ARE AMAZING! It takes a certain kind of individual to do what you do and handle what you handle.

I DO like what I do, for the most part - unfortunately business is horrible right now - when consumer confidence is down - so is my business. I don't mind the challange though.. I make decent money and we do not "need" anything. Fortunately there is still alot of my business that I can learn, I just wish I was in a more secure area at this time.

I adore my job (legal analysis & information field). I work from home M-Th and only go into the office on Fridays. Saves a lot on gas, car wear & tear, and lunches. I work with great people and we e-mail each other all day long to ask relevant questions and to "chat". Benefits are decent. (I have to admit that uppermost management is only "okay"; no job is perfect, I guess ;) ).

It isn't what I dreamed of, but I feel lucky to have found something that matches my personality so well. So I feel very fortunate!!

For the first time in my life I am very happy with my job. If I didn't have to work I wouldnt. But since I DO have to work I couldnt ask for a better fit for myself. I like the boss, the coworkers and the residents (retirement community). The benefits are great, and my son is in the onsite 5 star daycare - with a portion of the fee paid by work. I have the perfect mix of knowing how to do the job combined with things I still need to learn. I am the assistant to the president so I know a lot about what is going on within the organization. I don't dread coming in and when there is bad weather I worry about the residents. I truly feel like I am home and cant imagine working anywhere else.

AND we get our standard 2% raise starting the next pay period (we usually get it 2 times a year).

I love my job and what I do. Trust me, I would rather not have to work and it was not what I thought I would be doing. But I do enjoy my job.

For the first time in my years of working, I do love my job. Of course it's not all rosy all the time, but I enjoy it. I have a good boss and coworkers, and good available benefits. I have a nice variety of things to do on a daily basis, which helps keep me from being bored. Also, we are encouraged to leave right on time every day in order to spend enough time with our families. If I do have to work overtime for an event or something similar, I am given comp time to make up for it. Having had several TERRIBLE bosses that were unbearable, it's so nice to go somewhere that I don't dread.

I like my job.

I'm a lot happier here than I was at my old job. But it's the slow season right now (I'm in travel) and I've been bored out of my skull. Surfing the net all day, everyday, gets a little old.

Yes, I do love my job. I teach 4th and 5th graders to play the string instruments. The only bad part is that I teach in 5 different buildings, so I don't get a sense of community with the people I work with because I'm only there one day a week.

The kids are sweet and fresh faced, especially the 4th graders. Any little thing you teach them is so appreciated. It's amazing how much change takes place between 4th and 5th grade.
