Welcome old friends and new to my trip report. As I said we have had the most magical time and it is extremely hard sitting here typing, knowing it is all over!!! We have, however, made very precious memories and, I will try my best to recall them all for you. I have no photos as yet but will attempt to make a start with.......
Glad I did/Wish I hadn't
Firstly, I am so glad that I was blessed enough to have the joy of re-newing my vows to my gorgeous and special husband!! When we were repeating our vows to one-another, it seemed like we were the only two people there, and it will be a precious memory carried in my heart forever!! I am so happy we were able to have our close family and friends there with us, and were humbled at the effort they all made to make our day and, indeed, our whole trip, so very special.
Secondly, I am SO glad I chose to run with a S/D VR. As I said previously (and on many other occasions), Karen is an absolute angel!!! She was always ready during my planning to answer my questions and quiet my fears!! I never had any communication problems with Karen and she was very prompt at answering e-mails. On the day she was efficiant and professional, but also very friendly and approachable. Due to her hard work, the day seemed to proceed effortlessly. I would highly recommend a S/D wedding!!!
Next, and rather unusually on the boards, I am really glad I put all the effort into producing the Welcome bags. I only had a small number of guests and only gave one bag per family, so it was much easier for me than it would be for a bride with a large guest list. All my guests really appreciated the bags and used a good number of the things therein.
I am also really glad I had my girlie afternoon tea at the Garden View Tearoom. It was so beautiful in there, and the servers were so attentive!! They were very impressed that we were all dressed up in our pretty dresses and facinators/hats. The tea was delicious, and far more filling than you would expect. All my girls really enjoyed it and it was a fun but elegant way to start the festivities!! The girls really enjoyed their favour packs too!!
Paul assures me that the boys had a blast too. They had a lovely lunch at the Dolphin Fountain, played mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens, and finished with a beer or two at the ESPN bar at the Boardwalk
I am very very happy I chose to do a TTD session rather than a in-park portrait session. Our TTD with Randy was one of my favourite parts of our celebration!!! It really was so much fun and I think the photos will be a refreshing contrast to the more formal VR shots!!! To any bride considering such a shoot, I say, GO FOR IT. It is the most fun you can have in a wedding dress. You will love it!!
I was really glad that I chose Citrico's for our reception meal - it was perfect. But more about that in the vendor reviews!!
Next, and again, rather unusually, I am glad I didn't have a DP. Those of you who have been kind enough to follow my ramblings up to now, will know that I deliberated long and hard about a Sago Cay DP. In the end, we were so full from our sumptuous Citrico's dinner, that it would have been a complete waste of money!! We were, actually, fortunate enough to arrange access for our whole party to the Top of The World Lounge at BLT (where we were staying) and so we watched the fireworks, complete with piped in music and drinks, from there. A truly magical end to the day!!
I am glad I chose an afternoon ceremony. I had a wonderfully relaxed day, did not have to get up at some crazy time for hair and make-up (Patricia came at 10.00am) and the events flowed very smoothly from one to the next. Perfect!!!
I am glad we used the
DDP on this trip!! I have never done it before and would highly recommend it. We ate really well, and there is something so nice about getting up from the table after a great meal and not having to hand over the cash. I am sure we saved money too!!!
Lastly, (I think!!), I am glad Paul and I did a 'first look'. I had decided that, although we were already married, I didn't want him to see me after I started getting ready until I was all done!!! Our first look, out by the fountain at BLT, was a very emotional moment for us both and gave us a chance to reflect on what was about to happen.
Wish I didn'ts are far far more difficult!!!! I have no regrets about the day at all!!! I guess I wish I hadn't stressed about the weather so much (eg. obsessively checking the forcast several times a day), as it was lovely and sunny. Oh well, you guys did tell me not to stress and you were right!!!
