Does anyone else just love this show? Watched the season finale tonight and couldn't believe the storyline! Can't decide whether I liked it or not! It certainly wasn't what I expected!

I missed it! And forgot to set the dvr! ArrghhhH! Can someone let me know what happened?

Thanks!

Karen

OMG! Tonight's season finale was scary man! First, was the whole God thing real or was it all because of her mysterious lymes disease? What on earth happened to Ms. Washington? Was she dead? Was she God? What about that teacher? Was he the devil? What about Luke and that girl (I forget her name)? I know they kissed on the street but what will happen to them? What will happen to Joan?

Whoa lots of questions. Tonight's episode was the best (except for the vomiting).

I missed the very beginning, but Joan collapses and is taken to the hospital where she is diagnosed with Lyme Disease. The doctor tells the family that she has probably had it for quite some time and that the symptoms are mood swings, odd behaviour, and hallucinations. Suffice to say that Joan questions whether her 'seeing' God is in fact real or just the symptoms of the Lyme Disease! Medication will cure the disease so the viewers are kinda left hanging as to whether she will still be able to talk to God. Alot of the characters who have played God over the season returned to visit her and I didn't quite understand the part where her father realizes that a woman who died while he was on duty, came to him at the hospital to tell him about some important information about the suspect. Maybe someone else could better explain that part so even I could understand...?

***SPOILER AHEAD***

OK, at the very VERY end, "God" comes and looks in on Joan as she was sleeping in her hospital bed.

I think the jist of that last scene is that he's there no matter what, even when we decide that we don't believe in him anymore.
He's STILL there watching over us. :)

Weird show tonite, not at all fun but it did leave me thinking a bit.

I think it was to show that while Joan is having a crisis of faith her parents are both having spiritual experiences - the father saw the woman who had already died and the mother knew when she was at the church that something had happened to Joan.

Thanks JulieBride! I pretty much figured it that way, but you confirmed it for me. It certainly was a very powerful episode and I can't wait until September!

I agree with HauntedMansionGeek...in this episode, God tells Joan things aren't always as they seem. I think this show was a look at her faith, as well as her parents. While her faith was waivering, God was still at her side, watching over her. Notice how they put God in her favorite personna? The cute h.s. guy?

I noticed how far off the parents were to what God is in your life. I don't remember exactly what they said, but they were on the couch in her hospital room, talking about the harder times in life and where God fits in. Both me and my DH objected to their view of where he is at those times. Did I miss something? Or did anybody else see that?

Great show--heartwarming!::yes::
