Down two pounds since the beginning of June. A combination of healthier eating (more fruits, vegetables, and water and less sweets) and the walking to WDW challenge.

Just coming to check in... No losses here.Hoping for a much, much better week this week!
This sounds just like me. Since I started the June challenge, I have been replacing my usual late evening sweets with fruit or even just water. So far so good, but it is still early in the month.
Good luck!
Please share your favorite (or ONE of your favorite) motivational quotes here! Whether it motivates you to eat right, to move more, or to just lead a healthier life overall... share it!
Newbie here . . .
I would like to drop the few (4) pounds I gained.
Goals:
Walk 30-45 a day (5-6 days a week)
Track on my WW app daily
Try one new fitness/exercise routine a week
Challenge:
Work hours are changing for the summer ~
was 7:30am - 4:00pm
now 5:00am - 1:00pm
I live in the desert and usually walk outside at 5:00am because it is coolest at that hour.
Now I will have to walk at 3:30am ???
Note ** I really hate to walk on a treadmill inside!
Any suggestions regarding new fitness routines (no gym membership) would be most welcome!
Good for you on passing up the timbits and kit kats! Thank your co-worker for the Hot Cocoa and mention that "In the Summer I usually drink "Insert Beverages here". "What can I pick up for you next week/time I go get mine?" This way you are being gracious and she just may get the hint.
I would love to join. My goal for June will be to lose 10 pounds, I am currently using MFP (would love new Disney friends) to track calories and exercise and in addition Sat, Sun and Monday I bike on the recumbent bike 10 miles (1 hour) and as a family a few weeks back we started walking between 3-5 miles 5-7 days a week. However if the weather is bad I bike instead of walking. I started trying back in October 2014 and had lost 40 lbs before I fell off for 3 months during a rough time at work and gained some of it back. I started back again May 1st and am currently 2 pounds away from being back at that 40 lb total loss.
The past couple weeks have been rough for me because it seems like I am losing little to nothing, but I am trying to stay the course and hoping to see results again soon. Oh and I also started measuring last week in hopes that maybe I am losing inches even if the scale hasn't been showing it so much.
She should probably meet with her academic advisor as soon as possible. That way if there are admission tests that are required she can begin preparing now, so she'll have lots of study time before testing day. Also her advisor may have valuable insight into the programs and what they offer.
My progress for today is to eat a balanced dinner. I didn't have a good dinner last night or the day before. I am planning on a grilled veggie burger with lots of veggies on the side. I'm also hoping to get some time today to work on a meal plan for the next few days.
I'm the slacker of the group. Every group needs one though, right?
Monday: I walked to the soundtrack of Wishes and SpectroMagic and 2 songs from another Disney soundtrack. I might have even been singing along.
Tuesday: My knee didn't feel 100% so I walked the same route as Monday (it's 1.8 miles) but to slower songs from a different Disney soundtrack.
Wednesday: I didn't walk at all because when I came down the stairs in the afternoon I felt my knee slip.I decided to rest it.
Today: I'll walk the same 1.8 miles this evening but slowly and with my knee brace on. I was sedentary, more like a sloth actually, all winter so it's just a matter of building the strength back up.
Food is my biggest problem. I'm hungry all the time and when I'm hungry I have next to no willpower. I think if I saw some progress on the scale it would help but that needle isn't budging. I lost 25# two years ago that has stayed off, 5# last month that so far has stayed off and I want to lose at least #12 more by October. I think it's doable, it's just finding something that works for me.
I'd like to join! I've been lurking for a couple months now and I need some support as my oreo eating, skinny husband doesn't understand the frustrations!
My goals are to lose 5lbs this month and to touch my face less! I'm so bad at resting my chin on my hand that my acne is just out of control.
I plan on losing the 5lbs by working out at least 3 times a week and cutting out desserts on weeknights. I am a sugar addict and every night around 8pm my sweet tooth starts calling for anything and everything. I use MFP and sometimes I have extra calories for sweets at night but I figure that I'd rather eat more of the healthy stuff than just a little taste of the bad stuff.
Sorry I've been MIA again, guys. We've had a second very sudden death in the family within two weeks that we're trying to get through. I'll be back soon as I can
I joined a gym this morning and my DH and I bought bikes today. So now everyone has a bike to ride! Family Fun Day now has new options!!
Hi y'all!I'm not new here but I've been MIA for many moons.
I'll throw in an official June goal of 10,000 steps per day.
My family and I went to WDW last month and I got 20k-25k steps every day of that trip. Since then, I've hit 10k only ONCE. Other than that one day, I've fluctuated between 2700 and 6000. Not at all what I know that I'm capable of!
Well, that 10k/day is starting today so, lets see, according to Fitbit, I've got a grand total of 41,378 steps from June 1 - 7. Counting today, there are 23 days remaining in June so, 10k * 23 days is 230k. So, with what I have so far for the month plus my 10k/day goal, I'm aiming for a total of 272,000 steps for the entire month of June.
I'm not very good at keeping up with this group because, in the past, when I REALLY join the conversation, I spend entirely too much time here and I fall too far behind on other things. So, my other goal is to, at least, check-in with you guys on Fridays so that I can report my progress.
Other than that, I'd love to add some of y'all as Fitbit friends to keep me motivated. If you're interested, please PM me with your Fitbit email address and I'll send you a friend request.
Wishing you all lots of motivation, determination and pixie dust in reaching your June goals!![]()
Im fighting with sweet cravings today and they are non stop. So far I have resisted everything. My daughters birthday is today and I know i'm going to have to be strong to resist cake and ice cream as well as many other homemade treats...Feeling nervous!!!!
I made it through ... It was really hard , all I kept thinking about was having to report back and say I ate cake and ice cream - had a fruit smoothie and a handful of almonds . So glad that party is over !!!!
WARM WELCOME to you!! Any chance you are just TIRED when the sweet tooth starts getting active? When your body/brain is tired it looks for one of two things..... either rest/sleep.... or food for energy. If you are tired, skip the kitchen and get to bed early! I TRY to "shut off the kitchen" by 8pm at the latest, but some nights it is harder than others.
Thank you!I could definitely see that being a part of it! I'm trying a new routine this week where I finish the night with a cup of warm tea. I just need a new way to signal to my brain that eating is done each day!
Man, that 0% is rough! Haha. I tried so hard to walk on my lunch break today - I made it through one lap (0.7 miles) and couldn't go on! 90 degrees and suffocating today... It's definitely summertime in Memphis. You know what they say, it's not the heat, it's the humidity... Looks like it's going to be more important than ever that I wake myself up early and get on the treadmill before work.. Super hard when I have to leave by 6:50am! I am by no means an early bird... But we're planning rope drops this fall, so I guess I better start practicing. Does anyone who is ordinarily anti-mornings have any tips for getting up and getting going? My alarm clock is on the other side of the room, plus my phone alarms on my nightstand... But I'm a pro at sleep-snoozing!
Also, for today's QOTD... There are several I like, so here is just one for now!

From Mark Twain, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started."
Last week was 0% for me. On top of the foot in a walking boot, I had another physical setback over the weekend. And then an emotional set back today. Ugh. Hoping to get back on track. Great work to all those making such amazing progress!
