He claims that Disney spent $70 mil to upgrade the production facilities at MGM, redesigned the whole Animation attraction to feature the great work being done there, brought in a bunch of big hitters and lots of talented people...all for what? To close it down a few years later?

What a shame.

Yes, its is a shame!!!!!!!!!

The Florida animation tour was my favorite too. It was so neat when Lilo and Stitch was being made, the desks were stuffed with Hawaiian stuff and you could see all the colorful back grounds and paintings all over the place. This was even before I had known about the movie. During our last visit they were finishing up Brother Bear and I thought it odd that there were fewer desks then there were when Lilo was being created. The tour will not be the same if everyone is gone.

I also feel bad for a wonderful CM I spoke to during our visit to the MGM Studios Animation tour last Spring. She gave a wonderful tour and we had a long talk afterward with her. She was an art graduate and was wanting to be a part of the animation group so badly. She had a friend working in animation and she was all excited about how Lilo and Stitch went. I wished her luck and expressed my hope that the animation studio would pull through also. I'm sorry that I didn't get her name.
