I enjoy his podcasts with Len Testa. He sounds like a bit of a huckster and he has, ummmmm, some, you know, ummmmmm, you know, annoying verbal ticks ... but he hasn't triggered my B.S. detector.
I don't remember what his predictions are or check up on his facts or anything, but it sounds to me like he watches what's going on at Disney and Universal pretty closely. He also seems to have at least a couple of friends or informants inside the company who feed him info. And he usually carefully qualifies the information to differentiate between facts, or rather "apparent done deals", as opposed to rumors and wishful thinking.
He seems to have a pretty good and well-reasoned grasp of the fundamental business reasons behind many of the twists and turns that Disney takes, and also a pretty good grasp of the company's history - at least, a better grasp than little old me!
The fact that Len Testa goes to him on a regular basis for "inside dope" and historical background is good reference for Jim. Being the co-author of a best-selling guidebook for many years, Len would certainly know by now if he was being hustled or not.
I haven't listened to more than a handful of Disney-related podcasts (WDWToday, WDWRadio, WEDway, DisUnplugged) but overall I rate the Disney Dish podcast as best-in-class for people who are interested in more arcane, inside and somewhat speculative and "way out there" information about the Disney corporation and theme parks in general.
