Hey everyone - Sorry I've been MIA.
Molli - Her first book was Winning by Losing (Red), 2nd was Making the Cut (Black/Blue green). Per her explanations in her podcasts: Winning by losing is for people with a lot to lose and Making the Cut is for the last 10 pounds or that special occasion (much harder). I've read bits and pieces of both and never really finished them straight throuh.
I listen to Jillian's podcasts. I have for years and I've seen her evolve over time. I remember when I first started listening to her, it would drive me batty to see her recommend artificial sweetners. I've seen her evolve to learn that artificial sweetners are not good for you, and now she is experimenting with veganism (something she swore to her listeners not so long ago wasn't good for you). This last part has me a little confused. I also hate seeing her do those trainer tips on BL where she endorses something I know she doesn't believe in.
I've
I did finish reading it and here are my thoughts.
Great book with lots of great information. Very informative, easy to read (I swear you can hear Jillian talk through it (if you listen to her podcasts - its easy to hear her in the book).
But........this plan (if your wanting to follow a plan) is not for everyone. For me this is fine, because I eat clean and organic. This IS how I eat. I eat clean and follow the Clean Eat Diet. I follow these guidelines including getting the pollutants out of my environment. Last October I gave up pain medications based on information I had heard in Jillian's podcasts (and despite thinking I could never not have pain meds during my "time of month or a headache" I was wrong. It's been easier than I ever thought possible and I'm 7 months pain med free). So for me, this plan is exactly what I hopped she would come out with. I eat about 80% organic as it is, and strive to make most everything I eat organic. I use natural lotions (no parabens and all natural plant products), deoderants, toothpastes, etc. This is a work in progress and I'm constantly working to find products to replace things I used. For years I worked on getting my food all-natural and then organic. Then came the products.
As much as I think this is fabulous information, I wouldn't want anyone to read this and then be dissapointed in the fact that the plan is pretty much about going organic and getting pollutents out of your diet and products you use. If your ok reading a great informational read for learning (I love to read all kinds of health books even if I don't use all the information), then good. I just want you to know what it isn't. It's not a mainstream diet book that the masses will take to. Most people don't want to go this extreme.
Hopefully this is helpful. All that being said - I loved the book and there was so much interesting information.
