Hi! We are preparing for a trip and I am doubting my Jiko reservations. I have looked through a few threads but cannot find a great review.

I am traveling with my mom and my 6 year old. We are planning in Yak and Yeti and then going to the AKL for dinner.

TIA!

DW and I ate there for the first time last Nov, 2010. It was fantastic! I don't have any food pics but here is our main menu...

We really liked it the first time we went, then the reviews went south consistently.

That said, I think it's still worth a try. And if you enjoy wine, I think their wine menu is fantastic.

We just returned from our seven day food spectacular and Jiko was not worth the credits in my opinion. Jiko was just not that great. The breads and flatbread all tasted like they had the same seasonings on them and I have had better food from that region here in Colorado. That being said the service was great and it was one of the quiter restaurants we dined in. The Filet was prepared properly it just wasn't that great and the Risotto wasn't good I ate it only to take a break from the steak which I did not finish. Desserts were alright I took all of four bites and I left thinking I wouldn't return. The wine selection was great and the ambiance a welcome reprieve from the noise of the parks but all in all it wasn't worth the hype.

Jiko is easily in our top three. We have been twice and both reviews are in my signature.

The ambience of AKL and Jiko is just incredible. The service at Jiko was top notch both times. Also, we really enjoyed everything we ordered...from appetizers, to entrees, to desserts, to wine. It was a fabulous experience both times and we cannot wait to return.

That being said, I would recommend you eat at Y&Y pretty early. The servings there are huge and you want to have room for dinner! Enjoy!
