I saw on Deb's site some pictures, but what are the walls like? From the picture it looks like giant movie screens! Are they windows or what? I am trying to decide b/w Jiko & Boma, and I would like to know which atmosphere is nicer?

Jiko has by far the better atmosphere, and the wall that looks like movie screens in the picture are all windows overlooking the pool area. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We went to Jiko last October and had a window seat. This is the view outside of the window.... very lovely. There is a stream running outside by the window.

The window view at Jiko is lovely....the view is similar from the window at Boma. Jiko's walls change color during your meal to represent the sunrise/set. Very nice.

You have to choose these restaurants by how much time you are allowing for the meal, as both are wonderful.

Jiko 2 hours...sitdown from start to finish.

Boma...buffet...at least one hour if not 1 1/2 hours...serve yourself, still excellent waitstaff.

Both restaurants are beautiful on the inside.

I would describe Jiko as dark and barren. We did not have a window seat and it was dark outside when we ate. The food was okay and service was not very good. I would not eat here again.

On the other hand, I LOVED BOMA. The food was wonderful. I can't wait to go back. The atmosphere was upbeat and active. The service was wonderful.

Jiko is very "Michael Gravesish". I love the lighting design. The changing color washes are subtle yet add a remarkable warmth to the room.

It's soft yet vibrant. During daylight hours the floor to ceiling windows allow for exterior light and nice views. The room is very airy, open, and they did a great job allowing for Afrikaan influence.

I've eaten at Boma 3 times, Jiko once. well, 4 times at Boma if you count breakfast! Our server at Jiko was wonderful! The servers at Boma varied quite a bit. At times it was difficult to get their attention.

Boma is busy & noisy! We enjoyed the food very much, but it isn't the place for a relaxing meal. I like to go when they first open, to avoid the big crowds.
