We will be eating one night at AKL, and I'm having a hard time deciding between Jiko and Boma. We are a family of 4 - kids 12 & 18. Any thoughts??

Yes, Bomas.Jiko is a sit down service, very nice, good food but go if you can with just adults.Kids will enjoy the fast buffet service of bomas and more selections then just the kiddie menu. Not to mention it will save you money and time.

Your kids are old enough that either would be a good choice, but I still tend to agree that Boma would be better for the whole family and Jiko would be a good "date" for the adults only.

With kids that age, either would be fine. If you order appetizers, drinks and dessert, eating at Jiko will cost about twice what it costs to eat at Boma. I think both are well worth it.

Boma has alot of choices, and if you don't like something, you can get something else! My ds is picky, so this works better for us! It is also a lot less expensive, but very good!

We have eaten at both and the easy choice is Boma! We had a very nice meal at Jiko, but with kids, the choice is easy....and it is Boma. Boma is more affordable and has a selection of food that will please everyone. Jiko is ideal for a 'parents' only meal out and it will be more expensive than Boma. Don't get me wrong, both are very good but I even prefer Boma overall for the variety of tastes you will be able to enjoy while there!
