If you could only eat dinner at one, which one would it be? I already have reservations at Kona, but am thinking about changing.

Thanks!

First, they are two totally different places to eat.
So to me the choice comes down to who's eating?

If it's you and family....Kona
Kona is nice but defniately more relaxed and cheaper than Jiko.
If it's just a couple of adults....Jiko.
Jiko is great but pricy and really an adult themed place to eat.

While my family loves Kona - I would choose Jiko. Jiko is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW.

It's my husband and me. We're going to Orlando for our 4th anniversary (leaving the baby at home with grandpa and grandma :guilty:) and we have reservations for California Grill for the anniversary night, but wanted to have another nice dinner while we're there as well. We are not super fancy people and typically enjoy more casual environments.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I think you'll enjoy Jiko more.
Unles CG is after fireworks (lot of kids and can be real loud till fireworks)

Enjoy and Happy Anniversary

No comparison at all. Jiko is in a different class of dining all together. We loved our exp there, and we loved Kona. If we want a good meal straight from the parks, Kona fits the bill. If we want a dining exp where we took time to shower and change before dinner, Jiko is the choice.

Jiko for sure :thumbsup2

Don't miss it! It's wonderful :cloud9: Delicious food and wine, excellent service, great atmosphere - beautiful!

So do you think we should do Jiko for the anniversary night over Cali Grill? Now I am beginning to think there may be too many kids at CG. That would really surprise me given what looks to be an expensive menu!!

I think that's up to you...I'd had both resturants and two different experiences at CG.
Jiko was great. CG can be great too. I have had a sunset dinner there on our honeymoon that was a great romantic dinner. I've also had dinner there waiting for fireworks and it was packed with kids litterally running around the tables waiting for fireworks. But you do get a great view and the music. (emptied out immediately after Wishs)
And dispite the meal price, it's the view that draws the families.
(and you can't blame them it is disney) but know you might not have as quiet of a dinner as you invision.
Overall: it's your Anniverary Dinner, do the dinner you think will give you the exerience your looking for.

Absolutely. CG is a mob-scene loud, crowded (unless you get in the wine room). And rightfully so there are kids every where. A lot of really well behaved ones and some not so well behaved ones. If it is a romantic dinner you are looking for skip CG and go for Jiko or Artist Point. Of course there is V&A too. :thumbsup2

If you want any semblence of quiet and romantic, Jiko would be the better choice. CG is mobbed with children now that parents have heard about the fireworks view.

I would keep CA Grill, and I would pick Kona over Jiko. I've eaten at Jiko twice and haven't been that impressed either time.

Dined at CG many times and while there were children they were behaving as well as the adults. If you want to break away then you should go to V&A or Bistro de Paris.

I so appreciate all of your responses. In the end, I have booked all three: the CG, Jiko and Kona. We'll try them all! I decided (for now) to keep the CG/fireworks anniversary dinner.

Thanks again for all of your input!
