They had a corn/maize soup with harissa creme fraiche and crab a couple of years ago as an app. I can still taste it now

Also like the pork shank and of course the filet

Wild board app, beet salad and all the wine. Such a unique wine selection, stuff you can't find anywhere else on property or even back home.

But my favorite would only work if you are a wine drinker. The wine list is the best I've seen on property, so if you like red wine, this is the place to split a bottle. I have yet to find those African wines locally and they were SO good.

Yes, I am a wine drinker and am looking forward to trying some new wines. Any specific one you would recommend?

The Sikhumbuzos Peri Peri Chicken is delicious and on the lower end of the menu $. Enjoy!

Everything is good. The filet is fine, not extraordinary. Satisfying but not something I'd go back for. I'm a steakhouse snob, though.

Agree on both points. We really enjoyed our meal at Jiko.

If you are into wines, make sure you tell your server. Our server sent a different server over who was very knowledgeable about the wine list and he guided towards choices that I would not have picked on my own. His recommendations were just wonderful. For what its worth, his picks were the same price if not a bit less than what I was going to pick.

1st time at AKL for me in September and I'm sweating over the menu at Jiko. I was thinking the filet at first, but I might go for something like the short rib I can't normally get or the chicken because of the price. The Boar Tenderloin will definitely be my app though.

It's been a few years since I've eaten there, but I've had a version of the short rib twice. Delicious! No one in our party has ever been disappointed.

Pretty sure it was the Thelma that I really liked. But I agree with the poster who said ask your server. My server was AMAZING. I eat out a lot at all sorts of restaurants and that was hands down among one of the best servers I've ever had in terms of wine and service in general. Not often that Disney restaurants impress me let alone blow me away, but my server at jiko did!
