Is the cooking place a different seating area or restaurant or something else?

Also, I read somewhere they had an appetizer sampler, is that true?

I think the "official" name of the restaurant is Jiko, The Cooking Place.

We went in August with a group of nine and they put together some appetizer samplers for us, but we didn't ask if they had main course samplers.

they will make a sampler of four of the appetizers...I can't remember them but they are the first four on the left of the menu! It is wonderful!

The word Jiko means cooking place, and yes, the cooking place is in the middle of the restaurant. They do have an appetizer sampler, it is very nice. Good way to try a bit of almost everything. My favorite will always be the beef with the banana salsa.

The cooking place is the area near the open kitchen of the restaurant. It has a counter that you can sit and eat at and watch them prepare some of the foods that come from that area. I believe the part of the menu that lists "from the cooking place" has the items they make in that area.

That's right. They do make some of the food (appetizers and flatbreads mostly) at the "cooking Place". From time to time we've seen folks seated at the counter there.

It's fun to see them prepare everything. If they are not too busy, you can ask questions!

We found out it was the biggest Hidden Mickey on property!
