Jiko or Le Cellier

OK, I want to book 1 signature meal. I know people talk about skipping Le Cellier for dinner and going for lunch instead due to the dining credits, however, I already have a 4:30 reservation at Le Cellier, and as it stands, there are NO reservations for lunch OR dinner for that matter for Le Cellier anymore.

That being said, I keep teetering between Le Cellier and Jiko. Both intrigue me, and I'd love to eat at both but can't due to dining credits. Which do you recommend??????????

If I cancel my Le Cellier and schedule Jiko it would free us up to get to the Not So Scary Halloween celebration earlier, but...I dunno, I'm more concerned about good food! HA! My hubby and I are foodies

So...better food, Jiko or Le Cellier??????
DISCUSS :p

I personally am not impressed with LC, so i'd always pick another restaurant over LC. Jiko has an interesting menu. Have you seen it yet? The reviews are pretty good. If you like what you see on the menu, i'd go with Jiko. Plus that'll give you a great opportunity to see the beautiful resort and animals!

Unlike the PP, we have really enjoyed our food at LC. But if I had to choose only one, I'd definitely go with Jiko. Love the food and their wine selection is very good. And the ambiance is very, very nice.

I always go to Le Cellier & have never had a bad mal there. I'm not sure why some people feel that way??? :confused3

I have eaten at both and would definitely pick Jiko. LC was OK at lunch when we went but I had other favorites that I felt were better:)

We have eaten at both several times and would definately choose Jiko. LeCellier doesn't feel like a "real" signature to me

Jiko was just "ok" to me. I had the filet mignon with mac & cheese. This sounded like it would be right up my alley but I didn't care for the sauce it came in. Le Cellier - we have never once had a bad experience. It's wonderful! We have had the same server several times - Patrick, he's awesome! I love their wine list even though in comparison to Jiko it is limited. Best meal hands down here is:

Cheddar Cheese Soup with the pretzel bread of course
Mushroom Filet (the rissotto is so amazing!)
Children's menu mousse

I love Le Cellier.

We have been to both. We enjoyed our meal at LeCellier, and we look forward to returning for lunch...but Jiko is really special. You can't find a place like that just anywhere, and I would say go with the place that is more innovative and unique, which would be Jiko, no contest.

I like Jiko far more than Le Cellier, but I fail to see how having dinner at Jiko will get you to the Halloween party earlier. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is farther away from the Magic Kingdom than Epcot is, your dinner at Jiko will likely take just as long if not longer, and you won't be able to get a reservation there earlier than your current Le Cellier reservation. Jiko's first seating is at 5 or 5:30.

Unfortunately I've never been to either, but if I had a choice I would go with Jiko, as LeCellier is pretty much a steakhouse with a "Canadian" twist. And this is coming from a Canadian....shhhh...don't tell anyone. :rotfl2:

The reviews from Jiko are always so wonderful, but LeCellier has gotten some mixed reviews at best.

The menu and look of Jiko appeals to me much more than LeCellier does, but because my upcoming trip with DS is his choice for meals I don't have the option of Jiko, so I'm hoping the recent negative reviews of LeCellier are not a sign of things to come.

Regardless of what you decide I hope you have an amazing experience.

Ppl like me feel that way because we had a disappointing meal at Le Cellier. The soup was mediocre at best....the steak was a joke. Not a good cut of meat, fatty and flavourless. Very over rated. Never again.

No question about it - JIKO!

You can do LC for lunch for 1 credit. They have steak on the menu for lunch and you can compare for yourself.

Jiko. Im in the minority as I had a bad experience at LC. Jiko however is my favorite restaurant, ever. It's actually one of the reasons we picked AKV as our home dvc resort. True story.

There is no way that Le Cellier is worth two dining credits for dinner. It's only slightly better at dinner than at lunch, certainly not worth double. Jiko would be the better use of two dining credits.

From my experience, I have been to Le Cellier 4 times and have always had perfect steaks and wonderful service. When we went to Jiko last May we has a rude server and disgusting steaks. Maybe it was an off night, but I would never go back as thinking about that place makes me ill.

We've eaten at LC twice, both when dinner was still 1 credit. The food was excellent. The service however, was very slow both times. The servers were good and very nice, just slow. I don't know what it was about our service both times, but we were sat quite a bit later than the table next to us and they left at the same time as we did. Plan on 2+ hours at LC.
