Jiko or Le Cellier

Jiko.

I gave LC every chance--and it's not a bad place to eat--but it's a mediocre steak house at a premium steak house price.

Pick whichever menu appeals to you more. I've done both and while we preferred Le Cellier, I don't think it would be worth 2 dining credits, when you can basically get the same thing for lunch for 1. I think the thing that made it shine was the fact that we got a $100 meal for the equivalent of around $44 (this was back when the dining plan was only $39.99/adult).
Our Jiko meal was on our arrival night, and we ran into a bit of confusion when the check came.

I agree with the previous poster about your party. If you're trying to switch over the Jiko on the same night that you have the party, it won't get you there any faster than Le Cellier.

Jiko!

We enjoyed le cellier, but it's just a run of the mill steakhouse.

Jiko -- LC isn't bad but it's not exceptional (to me at least, so I don't get all the hype on the boards). Jiko on the other hand is unique, has a much nicer atmosphere, and has amazing food! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 We've eaten at both. My personal favorite is . . . Jiko

However, our server was "fake" friendly and it drove me crazy! :faint:

Haven't read through all the responses, but Jiko is our favorite restaurant at Disney. We never miss it if possible. We skipped it when we went with 12 family members because they were not interested and really missed it. It is (in my opinion) the most "romantic" restaurant there. I love the filet there -very tender! They also have a great selection of wine.

I havent been to Jiko yet, but booked it for Thankgiving day. I booked Le Celier for lunch on another day. I have eaten at Le Celier before it turned into 2 credits. It was a good meal, but I didnt want to spend 2 credits on it this time when you can get steak on the lunch menu for 1 credit

Jiko, Absolutely! If you can, I would totally recommend trying to get in at the cooking station - such a neat experience! You get to chat with the chefs as they do the appy prep! I actually got to watch them make my food! So cool!:goodvibes

Jiko by a mile! Wonderful menu, more formal and feels special.

I think Le Cellier is good...but Jiko is much better, with a more interesting menu and calming atmosphere.

Jiko has the largest selection of South African wines outside of South Africa and they are all fantastic. Highly recommend the cheese plate also.

Jiko--if you like to DINE. Food will be outstanding. Service will NOT be rushed. It is my personal favorite of all the WDW restaurants. LeCellier was good when I ate there, but it is more of an "in and out" type of service. If you go to Jiko, ask for Nassar.
