Have it narrowed down to these two....i think :rotfl: had Narcoossees because i love lobster but seems to get bad reviews so scratched that one.

The appetizers look really yummy at both though i love a good crab cake. The bread and butter at Jiko looks really yummy! Looking at the steaks at both or scallops at FF or the shrimp dish at Jiko too....dessert for kids looks fun at FF also!

Wanted to see what everyone thought!!

We love the Flying Fish. The location close to Epcot is a plus for us. The scallops are excellent!

I like both, but if I was only doing one, I would choose Flying Fish. Flying Fish is the only Signature restaurant where I really love all three courses. I love their tomato/mozzarella salad or mussels for appetizers, their steak or scallop/risotto for entrees, and either a cheese plate or whichever dessert trio they are serving that evening. They only have one steak on the menu, but it is excellent (much better than any of the steaks I've ever gotten at Yachtsman and also better than the filet at Jiko).

Now I also like Jiko's flatbreads, salad, or cheese plate for an appetizer and their fish or lamb for an entree. Their steak is just OK though. Sorry, but I've never tried their shrimp dish. I have yet to find a dessert there that I particularly cared for.

Another vote for Flying Fish! Our DS5 was so upset he didn't go on our date night [he had been before and knew what he was missing :)] DH and I enjoyed it so much we canceled a ressie later in the week and went again! :cool1:

Sounds great!!! :thumbsup2

I was leaning more towards Flying Fish but that bread and butter look so yummy at Jiko but everything looks better at FF! So i think it will be FF!!

Thanks!!!

If you love a good crabcake--which to me is Maryland style, with all jumbo lump and a bit of Old Bay--you won't find anything close at WDW.

That out of the way:), I think FF is the better restaurant.

I have to disagree with the masses - normally FF wins every time, but we had such poor service there that it left a bad taste in my mouth. Our meals were OK (his steak was phenomenal, I had the snapper which I found bland and dry)...but our meal at Jiko was fantastic - great service, great food, and fantastic atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.

With kids FF.... w/o it's a tie.

My kids LOVED FF... not sure fans of Jikos. At FF the manager made a big deal out of them and they loved the presentation of the food. They got the fish on a stick which was really good and came in a little basket like they would have put in the deep frier and it had "newspaper" paper in it. Plus the desserts were AWESOME for the kids. They loved the puzzle and actually asked to go back the next night. It was also slightly louder and not as "stuffy."

Jikos was very good and had a better wine list, IMHO. But FF was delicous and more relaxing. DH actually got the steak at both and said that handsdown FF was better... in fact he put it above YC and LC too.

You'll enjoy either!

I know i saw the puzzle dessert! My son (6) would love that! As much as id like to try Jiko definatly going to hit FF this trip!

Im from Ohio so i dont really know true Maryland crabcakes, red lobsters is good enough for me :rotfl: I think i like the roumalade (spelling?) sauce just as much as the crab cake itself :thumbsup2 looks like a good sauce at FF.

we love love love flying fish. i've had the crab app and 4 different main dishes the scallops, oak grilled swordfish, the bass, and the snapper. we always make adrs at new places each trip but flying fish is one of two places we just can't let go of and book each trip. the service, food, and atmosphere have been fantastic, and being near epcot as well as dhs is a big plus for us. we usually keep it for our dhs day so we just walk over to the boardwalk.

I've never been to Jiko, but I was very disappointed with Flying Fish. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. You can get a better meal for much less in Disney, IMHO. The signature restaurants that I enjoyed were California Grill, Narcoossee's, and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Although not a Disney owned restaurant, I also loved Shula's.

We have dined at both, and prefer FF over Jiko. We actually love FF! We have gone back many times! The food is soooo wonderful and service is excellent, at least it was for us. My favorite dish is the Potato Wrapped Red Snapper.

Jiko was just so so for us. I am sure though we will try it again in the future, to give it another chance.

Side note-We also enjoy Narcoossee's! I thought the whole maine lobster was very good!

I vote Jiko. FF and Jiko used to be tied as my favorite restaurants, but FF started using MSG in a lot of their dishes. I have a food allergy so I always note it, but at FF I told them Id eaten there before and knew it was okay and they said - no, you need to talk to the chef. He apologized and said they'd gotten a new distributor and many of the dishes now had MSG. I was very bummed.

Man, that's a very tough call. I guess I'd lean towards Jiko on this one, but only just. I think with some future visits to Flying Fish, it could supplant Jiko's spot in my personal preference list, though.

BEST steak I have ever, ever, ever had in my life was at Flying Fish. You must try it. I was getting toward the end of eating it and I literally said to myself I don't want to come to my last bite!! It was THAT good. The sauce on top was outstanding. Cannot wait to go back sometime:thumbsup2.

They're both great, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I'll give the slightest edge to FF because I think their desserts are a tad better.

So I'd pick based on which is a more convenient location.

I haven't had it in over a year, but I do think the lobster at Narcoossee's is phenomenal (since you mention it.) That aside, FF has been fantastic in the past. We just went this past Saturday, and the appetizers (mussels and mozzarella and tomoato salad) were disappointing, not as good as they had been before. However, the main courses (steak and rare tuna) both lived up our memories. Really great. They topped it off with a surprise complementary white chocolate almond creme brule for my birthday that was out of this world. Neither my wife or I are huge creme brule fans, but next time we'll likely order this!
