Jiko-Chef Counter

I plan to eat at Jiko on my next trip, and it will most likely be a solo meal. I have an ADR (Wednesday, Feb 28). But I just saw that there is a bar and chef counter you can eat at, which I think would be cool! Is that just first come first served? Do you even need an ADR, or should I keep the ADR and if there is room at the counter request that instead?

Hi! We did the tour of Jiko last trip and they explained that it is first come-first serve. However, I would definitely keep your ADR and maybe show up a little bit early and request the chef counter. I don't think you will have a problem, especially being a solo diner!

I did the Sunset Safari a few years ago, and nobody else showed up, so they put me at that chef counter for the dinner which comes with the safari. The cast members were nice, but they were mostly doing salad type stuff, as I recall. It's not like they are making complicated dishes in front of you. The pizza ovens are there, but not super exciting watching that.
