Jiko - Barbecued Chicken Flatbread?

Im seriously considering making an ADR for Jiko. I was looking at the menu and saw the Barbecued Chicken Flatbread for an appitizer. What is that exactly? I saw a picture of it and while it looks good, Im still not sure what it is. I know what flatbread is. Its like a flat pizza. Has anyone had the Barbecued Chicken Flatbread at Jiko before? Is it good? Also what exactly is apple julienne and what are the 4 cheeses thats on it? TIA!

As you suggest, it's like a pizza with barbecued chicken, cut up apples (that is what "julienne" means) and onions. Not sure what the four cheeses are. We ordered this when we ate at Jiko in March. It was wonderful! I ordered it for myself, but my two girls both tried it and they ended up eating almost all of it. Jiko is a great restaurant and well worth an ADR.

Thanks for the reply! I JUST made my ADR for Jiko like 2 minutes ago. Man that restraunt must be VERY famous and VERY good! She only gave me 2 times for the date I wanted!!! Glad I made my ADR when I did!

I had the BBQ chicken flatbread on our last trip. It was great. We are going back to Jiko in December and I will be ordering the BBQ chicken flatbread again.

I've had it before, it's good, and I ate most of it.

The flatbread is really tasty! The chicken has a particularly wonderful flavor because they use Kenyan coffee in the sauce (if I remember correctly). Also, if you like cheese, the cheese selection is delicious (just keep in mind that it changes pretty often - I've never had the same thing twice there)!

All the flatbreads there are good. And yes Jiko is very popular--nice restaurant, great food, excellent South African wine list. Enjoy!

When staying at the lodge, I've twice now walked up to the podium and ordered the BBQ Chicken Flatbread app "to go".

They've never blinked at me.

It's that darn good!

I love the Barbeque Chicken Flatbread at Jiko. It is my favorite appetizer. My only regret on my last trip was that I didn't take what was left in a "To Go" box to eat the next day (I was making sure I had room for the Filet and Mac n' Cheese). I was so sorry I didn't have the rest to finish.

I never even thought to order a delicious Jiko appetizer to go. It will be like having our own version of concierge!
