Jewelry during dolphin swim?

How picky are they about 'no jewelry' during the dolphin swim at DC? My nose is pierced (small stud rather than big hoop) and I have a few earrings I'd rather not take out. Has anyone been asked to remove their earrings before? Thanks!

Yes, no jewelry (other than a wedding band) is allowed in the dolphin pool. This is an absolute and it applies not only to the guests, but also to the Sea World crew members as well. It's a rule in place for the safety of the dolphins, as dolphins have a tendency to try to swallow foreign objects that may end up in their pool.

Sorry, but they will ask you to take all your earrings out.
