For those of you who shop there, today 7/29 thru 8/25 if you spend $400 you will receive a free companion ticket for flights thry 5/15/05. There is the usual blackout dates, and you do not know what those are until you reach the $400 mark...but we hit that in 3 weeks easy, so gonna go for it. You need to either hold onto your receipts or use your "preffered card" and it will total for you. Then once you hit $400 you will be issued a special receipt at the checkout and take it to customer service and they will give you the voucher for air travel with the details.

Whoa, good deal! Are you sure it's Jewel and not Dominick's b/c I thought Dominick's was the only grocery company linked to an airline mileage deal like that. (or at least in my area) I checked the Jewel-Osco website and didn't come across this great deal.

It's Jewel for sure. It is in their ad from Sunday and posted in the store, and I grilled the service desk employee She told me that usually ATA is the only airline that this deal is thru, but that several will be available to choose from.Now keep in mind, since the "fine print" is not there to read until you have hit the $400, it may apply to full fare price, stuff like that, but like I said, I shop there anyway, so what the heck! I stuck to my list and only bought what I needed today and so far I am at 139, and this is my mid-week shopping. Milk alone will add up quick!

Saw this in the Trib yesterday as well. I'm going to do it just because I know I can spent that much within a month. IMHO I don't think it's that great a deal. The way that you determine your purchased ticket price depends on which "zone" of the country you are departing and arriving from. For example, Chicago to Orlando is $320. That's still $160 pp. Alot of the time you can beat that fare with ATA or SWA. It didn't really say what airlines are participating--maybe the majors... it will be interesting to see.

Jewel had a full page ad for it in the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday.

Jewel also had an ATA promotion last year I believe. I can't remember what it was exactly but I remember getting the coupons and then being really bummed the we ended up not being able to use them in the time frame they were good for. Since we're going to WDW in Feb. this year we'll be able to use them this time.

By the way ATA right now has great fares chicago to MCO if anyone is looking but you have to travel on a T-W-TH to get them.

It would take me forever to spend $400 and we are going in Oct, so I don't have much time. I did not think you could use receipts(like my mom's?) if there is a different preferred card number?
